Was it just him or did she look confused ? Almost like she didn't want to say something.. Was she afraid it would hurt his feelings ? Heh, he didn't have feelings. He actually prided himself on his clever little mask.
"Don't worry about offending me, I don't have feelings."
Hmm, maybe that was a bit harsh, but it was true. He never liked to be attached to anything, especially people. He wasn't even that close with Rei, he didn't even know her favorite thing to do for God's sake. He was an emotional failure.
His eyes hardened a bit when she mentioned the rabid animals following him. Fans ? More like stalkers. Ever since he had arrived they had clung to him and constantly surrounded him. He hadn't believed females could be that desperate. Boy, was he wrong.
"There fanatical stalkers that belong in an asylum."
They would look perfect in straight-jackets come to think of it...

"No feelings?!"
The words came out involuntarily, before Ailyth could remember that "boundaries" thing. Well, then again, if he didn't have feelings, he wouldn't care about boundaries, right? But, no! Everyone had feelings! Even the smallest animals had feelings. Plants even had feelings as well. She was sure of that!
"But... Everyone has some feelings! Those who say they don't are just trying to hide them!"
Confident that her statement was correct, Ailyth crossed her arms over her chest, indignantly. Sure, some people could seem emotionless at times - Ailyth could attest to that - but no one was really an emotionless shell. Even that dog wasn't emotionless! She was pretty sure that he had absolutely hated her when she escaped from him. Yeah, it was a negative emotion, but it was still an emotion!
That assumption was only furthered when he spoke about the fan girls. He seemed just a little annoyed with them. Annoyed that they aren't in an insane asylum, apparently. Well, they did sound kinda crazy. Running up and down the halls squealing to each other. Perhaps they did have some sort of mental condition?

He raised an eyebrow, wondering why, exactly, did she care ? He knew he didn't have feelings, and it really didn't bother him. Hiding them ? Why would he hide his feelings ? If he had any that is..
"No, I really don't..."
He probably shouldn't have said anything. Now, she was going to rant about how everything was love and hugs. It wasn't. To put it plainly, life sucked.
He really hadn't had anything worthwhile happen in his life, except for studying magic. That was about it. No friends, except his sister who couldn't exactly call a friend...

"But..!"
Ailyth frowned at this. He still said that he didn't have any feelings... But, everyone has feelings! Only robots and stuff like that didn't feel. Maybe he really believed that he didn't have feelings? Maybe he'd never felt any sort of emotion before. Everyone had emotions, but maybe he didn't believe that?
Well, I... I feel sorry for you."
She stepped back, furrowing her brow as she watched him. Maybe that was kind of a harsh comment, but he didn't have feelings, right? So he wouldn't care about a careless comment. Gosh, no wonder he was so anti-social!
Or maybe it wasn't exactly like that. Maybe something traumatic happened in his past? Maybe some thing hurt him, so he just didn't care for human emotions any longer. Well, something must have happened! Everyone had emotions! Ailyth refused to believe otherwise.

Why in the world did she feel sorry for him ? If he didn't have emotional attachments, he'd never have to worry about death or heartbreak. Really not on his list of priorities...
Was it a girl thing or something ?
They always seemed to be well.. emotional. Always crying or gushy happy. It was like the entire female gender had bi-polar syndrome.. Seriously, who laughs and cries at the same time ? He raised an eyebrow at her, not bothering to do much else.
"Hmm, not be rude, but why do you care, exactly ?"

At the new question, Ailyth's annoyance began to dissipate. She wasn't sure exactly why she tended to be so easily distracted. Even if it was the same subject, if there was a different take on it, she would treat it differently in it's entirety. It must certainly seem like she was bipolar or something at times.
"Oh, it's got nothing to do with you."
Wait, that wasn't quite right... She should try again.
"I mean, it's not just you. I just want the best for everyone... Well, everyone I like."
Yes, she certainly didn't wish the best for that dog... No, he could burn in Hell for all she cared.
Smiling once again, she spun around, scanning the gym in a futile search for a clock. She was curious as to how close curfew was. It didn't matter much to her, as she wasn't about to leave yet, anyway, but if it was past curfew that meant that she had to act all secret agent-like to ensure that she doesn't get caught.
Not a clock in sight. Darn.

He sighed quietly, it was probably getting late.. He should have left a while go.. He turned towards the door to leave.
"Hmm, it's getting late, we should go."
Well, he couldn't just leave her to walk alone could he ? He had to at least offer to walk with her.. If she refused that was fine, but he had heard things lately that it wasn't good to be alone at night here right now.
Not that he was worried, but it seemed like the thing to, and he was offering to help. He looked through the window to see the starry sky. How long had they been talking here ?

Seeing Nai look toward the window, Ailyth followed his gaze. It wasn't a clock, but it was better than nothing. The sky could tell you a lot. For instance, now the sky told Ailyth that it was almost past curfew. She hadn't realized how late it had gotten!
Nai noticed this too, as he seemed prepared to leave.
"Oh! Actually, I'm gonna stay for awhile."
Really, the entire reason that she had come down here in the first place was to practice her magic, though the only practice she had gotten in was that one spell she showed to Rei. She needed much more practice if she ever wanted to become a skilled magic user. Then maybe she'd seem almost threatening! That was really hard to do when you were a rabbit.
"See, I came down here to practice magic, but I haven't been able to. Been talking to you guys, ya know?"
With that, she skipped into the middle of the gym and removed her necklace once again. It was the only prop she had to work with, and she suddenly wished that she had brought something else. Well, maybe she could find a soccer ball or something? That wouldn't be too hard to move, would it?
As she contemplated this, she suddenly felt like she should say something to Nai.
"You can go, though. I'll be fine!"
Why wouldn't she be? It was just breaking curfew. She'd done it plenty of times. And she was no where near a graveyard, so she was safe.

He smirked slightly as he turned to leave, she was staying it appeared. He walked past her to the exit, patting her on the head as he often did with Rei. It was quite funny until his sister decked him. He doubted she would , however.
"Don't get eaten or something. Your one of the only girls who isn't psychotic around here."
Some people would say that was Nai's way of showing he cared. They were morons that didn't know him. He didn't show affection. At least, that's what he told himself as he left..
Hn. Feelings.. Ridiculous.

She could do this. Of course she could do this! It was just a beginner level spell! There was no reason for her not to be able to do it! By the time she was finished with this, she'd be able to kick up a gust so strong that it was almost a hurricane force wind!
As Ailyth was busy psyching herself up, she felt a strange tapping upon her head. Instinctively, her hand went up to her hair, brushing against Nai's hand as she did. Curious, she turned slightly to watch him retreat toward the exit.
His words, though strange, caused Ailyth to smile broadly.
"Um, thanks! And I wont!"
His words were weird, though Ailyth thought that she understood the true meaning behind them. No feelings? Yeah, right! He totally did have emotions! And he cared about whether or not Ailyth would live or die. She knew he did. He was just trying to act detached. Or maybe it was the past traumatic experience that she was contemplating before. Ailyth was unsure of which and she decided not to bring it up as her gaze returned to the necklace in her hand once again.
