Hearing Illia's short words, Elle said no more. Instead, she just followed her down the cave into a new room. It looked as though they'd have to look elsewhere for an exit. That is, until Illia clawed an opening into the ceiling and jumped out without a word.
Elle forced her way through the opening after her, breaking the exit open even further as she stepped out into the morning air. Out of the corner of her eye she saw Illia pull herself out of the lake and head back towards the school. She must be upset, Elle thought to herself. Looking back into the opening, she wondered if maybe she should wait for Ara. Then again, she was an able swimmer and she could fly as well. Besides, Elle just wanted to get out of there. Maybe the monster had friends? Then, she spread her wings and took to the skies, flying off toward the dorms. Classes started soon, and she had to get ready.
