Lost, or not?

Mizore just enrolled here. The academy sign her up quick at night and told her not to leave her temporary room. But even though they seem kind enough, Mizore refused to trust them. She sneaked out of the window without their knowing. For her first time jumping off a two storey building is quite scary for her, but heck, she will do anything to leave that room. She recalled the teachers said something about students having powers or other forms so that she needs to be careful. She couldn't care less about that. She's not picking fights.

She wondered herself to the woods. She can hear owls and wolves howling. She walked and walked and just hear the same, and see the same. She's not really lost, or she just doesn't want to admit it. She decided to stand on one of the branches that looked strong. If there's any chance it's going to break, she'll just freeze it. Though, it wont' happen. Because she's quite light.

Observing the sky for a few minutes, She hear someone coming. Or even an animal approuching. Who knows, but her head that is supposed to look up, looked down. No, she's not looking for that thing that is approuching her, she's more like day dreaming. Doesn't care about that russling noise at all.

Leo stumbled through the woods, his open hands grabbing at anything that brushed by them. Bushes and leaves were crushed in his small, groping hands, and eventually they grew sticky with sap. He didn't notice as he continued walking along. He just kept walking. How did he get out of his room? Well, he wasn't useless. He put a quick spell on the lock, and it opened by itself.

He didn't feel lost, even though it was dark and he was far from his dorm. For some reason, he thought he'd know the way back. For now though, he just felt like running through the trees and playing with the bushes. He stopped at a particularly big tree, and it felt like he needed to look up. There was a girl in the tree, looking down at him. She didn't seem to notice him, almost like she was in a trance. He smiled, in his childish way raising one of his sticky hands in greeting.

"Hi! What's your name?"

The "something" came and saw her day dreaming. She immediatly notice the human who seems to be a little kid. What should she do now? He's a kid. She's not looking down at him. If he's that young, but enrolled here, he must be a powerful creature or such. Of course, the usual, she did not let her guard up, normal.

The kid waved at her wit his hand that looked sticky. Well, even though he's a powerful person, he's still kiddy. MAYBE she can trust him. He's a kid after all. If he betray her she would kill him. Not literally. She disappeared to pure white snow that looks like flying to the little boy's front. And then, the snow turned to Mizore herself.

"Isn't it rude to ask people's name while you haven't said yours?" She said. That's the best she can do. She doesn't want to completely trust him. "Anyways, my name is Shirayuki Mizore..."

"Oh, sorry." Leo said, wiping his hands on his sweater. It was cold out here. It was also cold when the girl came up to him. Leo knew just by looking at her that she wasn't human. She was too cold to be human.

"I'm Leo." Leo said, smiling. He would have held his hand out to shake, but it was still sticky from the leaves. He tried wiping it off again, but it didn't work as well as he'd hoped. He stared angrily at his hand, and with a snap of his fingers, he made the sticky melt off. There we go. Much better.

"I'm new here. Wanna be my friend?"

Now he held his hand out to shake, marveling at how tall the girl was next to himself.

OOC:Sorry for the late post, I was eating supper with my siblings.

The kid apologized and tried to wipe off the sticky liquid off his hand as soon as he noticed his hands are sticky. He then introduced himself as Leo. Few seconds later, it seems Leo was frustrated about the stickiness on his hand. But just with one snap, the stickiness seems to vanish.

She watched as she suck on her mint lollipop. Quite impressive for a young boy. Is he a prodigy or something? He must be. At least that is what she thought. Come to think of it, why is a kid out here late at night? Is he michievous enough to be like her escaping from their own room? Well, glad to see that someone might act like her. For her, it's not good if she's the only one doing this kinda of stuff. Though it seems like this place have many students like her.

Leo said he was new, too. What a brave little kid. She doesn't mean that as a bad way. And after that, he questioned her if she wants to be his friend. Weird. This feel kinda weird. Did the kid mean it or what? Well, she prefer being like stranger, but knows each other.

Again, she melted away and appeared squating down below a tree behind the kid. She knew he won't be surprised. He might be even more powerful than her. She put on her famous glaring eyes. She always does that when she's bored.

"Maybe."

Leo tuned to face the girl gain after she moved, his head tilted to the side questioningly.

"Why do you like to move so much? Are you afraid of connection?"

He already knew that she was, but his mommy had always told him to ask questions anyways instead of just knowing things. He knew a lot of things, but people didn't like it when he told them what they didn't want him to know. People were sometimes afraid of him. He didn't know why. Mommy said it was because he was good at magic. He missed mommy now. She was far away from here.

"I'm lonely." He said, sniffling. He missed mommy.

Lie she said, the boy didn't freak out. Meh, a prodigy. But still a kid. He asked Mizore that why did she like to move around so much. Well, maybe there's nothing to do. She doesn't want to stand around, too. These kind of teleportation won't use much energy anyways. She might as well up her energy, get tired, sleep. That's all.

"Because there's nothing to do." She answered.

The boy then asked another question. Is she afraid of connections? Maybe yes. She find it hard to trust the teachers and be friends with other students when she was young. Maybe it's because she is used to it all. She's used to loneliness that it's like a normal feeling for her. Though sometimes she doesn't like it.

"Truth be told, yeah."

Kind of a cocky answer. But hell, she'll just answer whatever the kid ask her as long as its not too complicated and stuff. There are lots of stuff that she wants to hide, so yeah.

"I'm lonely."

Of course, he is. He just started. Mizore almost felt sorry for Leo. She's sure Leo can't take the loneliness she's holding. She's not proud of it at all. Right now, if God exist, only God is with her and no one else. No siblings and no parents. All alone in this world. Leo's mother is somewhere far, right?

"Why don't you try be friend with the others?" She said, then teleported to his side. "I mean, they're a whole lot better than me." She stated. "More kind, more cheerful. Just perfect." She's always gloody, untalkative, hides around. No one needs a friend like her. Heck, she doesn't even know whats the real defination of "friend".

"Better? Not better. They have friends, and the best friend is someone that needs a friend themselves."

Leo looked at her with his wide, childish eyes. He would befriend anyone really, but something told him she would make a good friend. A better friend than anyone else. He wasn't talkative at times either. Sometimes, he wouldn't say anything all day. Leo liked the school. People here were different, like him. They didn't like him though. They thought he was too young. Professor Crane had said he'd fit right in, but Leo knew it would take time for that.

"Friends aren't perfect." He said, wiping his tears away. "Friends aren't cheerful. Friends are just there."

He had a lot of friends before, but now he didn't have anyone. He met a few dryads earlier, but they weren't that friendly. They went away into the woods, and left him alone. He didn't like being alone.

"You don't have to be my friend." He said suddenly. "You just have to be there."

He saw a leaf flutter to the ground, and instantly wanted to play with it. He sat down, leaves fluttering up, and began to throw the leaves up in the air. He liked leaves. They were colorful.

As expected Leo gave her a speech about being friends and said she just have to be there. Still, she just don't understand them. Friends, friends, friends. Is it really that important? For her, it's not really important, she can live without any, she learned to be independant. She wanted to ask Leo why does it have to be her. There's so much people out there. Somebody gotta love kids.

"I just don't understand those who have friends. For me, they're just fools that kid you around and betray you when you need them most."

Don't blame her. Childhood experience. True, those students be friend with her, then after a short while, they betray you as if you're a monster or something. Yes, she realized she's a monter now. A creature. She's not human. While waiting for Leo to say something back, she created a clone of her sleeping in that temporary room. It'll be bad if the teachers saw no one in her room.

"Why did you sneak out?" Leo asked, picking apart one of the leaves. He didn't seem to be interested in the subject of friends anymore.

Oh well. He's ten, what did you want from him? A normal conversation?

Leo liked friends. He had always had friends. There were friends that didn't like him, but he didn't take it personally. There were even friends that hurt him, but he still forgave them. He knew Shirayukl had been hurt by friends, and he knew how painful that was. She had been hurt a lot more than Leo, and he always had mommy to talk to. He found a stick, and began to drag it across the ground, digging little pictures into the mud with a smile.

Leo then changed the subject, asking why she sneaked out. Simple, there's nothing to do in that room. Well, there are some books, but probably like a game, it will be all about Chimera Academy or useful tips about ga- No, about surviving the academy. Even though she's like a cold person, she likes games. Especially RPG's that is like taking over a character and move around.

"There's nothing to do in that room."

She answered honestly. What's the point of lying? Well, now that she new that he's new, maybe they could go around the academy. Or maybe not, since there might be prefects or teachers checking if students are in their dorms. Ugh, she hate curfews, but she'll have to deal with it. No choice.

"So? What are you gonna do now?"

She asked. Maybe she could get some ideas where to go later from him. Or maybe just sleep and just go explore the next day.

Leo picked up the stick, a muddy leaf on the end of it.

"There's a castle in the woods." He said. "Crane doesn't let us know about it, but I know where it is. There are fun things there."

He slapped the stick down, splattering mud all over himself. He then got up and began to totter towards the way of the castle.

"Wanna go? That's where I going. There are games there!"

The castle was abandoned, it wasn't as big as the one Chimera Academy was made from, but it was made of the same architecture, and it was almost like a summer home to Chimera Castle's main building. Leo knew because he saw it when Crane was talking to him about the enrollment. He could do that sometimes - see things that people were thinking about. Crane was thinking about the castle when he talked to Leo. He thought about all the old fun things inside it.

"It's not far. Over the river and through the woods!" He scraped the stick along the ground as he walked.

Castle, huh? That sounds a interesting. She always wanted to go see what's a castle like. She hoped its like those in the storybooks or movies. She wondered if any beings reside in the castle. Well, she might as well go.

"Sure. But, what's your defination of 'games'?"

She thought about it. For her, games are video games. Yup, like those in the TVs or portables ones. No one plays outdoor games now, just a few. Maybe Leo find something better than games. Like, to him, books are like games. She don't know. It depends on Leo himself. That's why she asked him. Everybody is different.

Mizore stood up and followed Leo. She wondered if there's any strange beings. Like monsters or even spirits. Leo isn't afraid. She wanted to ask if he been though of this kind of night before. But she decide to leave him be.

"Games are fun things!" Leo said excitedly as he stomped his way over to the river bank. He really couldn't explain what they were, so it was better just to show her. Leo thought they'd be fun, anyways. Crane had hid them for a reason. Not a bad reason, just a reason. Maybe he wanted to keep the games all to himself?

Leo got to the water, then looked over at the other side.

"It's deep." He said, staring at the bottom of the fast flowing river. "We need a bridge!"

He threw his stick in the water, watching it flow downstream before looking at Shirayuki.

"Make a bridge!" He smiled.

Now, whether he'd run into her for specifically this reason, or whether it had just been a lucky accident wasn't sure. Knowing Leo, he might have planned this all along...

"Please?"

Things that are fun, huh? Well, at least its not her idea. Studying equals game. She's a bit relieved to hear that this kid is not one of them. She don't know why, she just find those guys weird. Well, she followed Leo to the river. She wondered if Leo's going to use his magic. But to her disappointment, he asked her instead.

"Aren't you a wizard?"

She asked closing her eyes, sighing. She stepped forward casually and about a few seconds later, the river's water floated and formed like a bridge then it freezed.

"....I didn't know I could do that...making the waters float"

Yes, she thought she can't do that. Because it's related to water. It's more like water manipulation. After the bridge is complete, she walked over it. It's pretty so she doesn't want to break it. She'll just break it later when they are going back to the dorms.
