There was something strange about the girl's response. It seemed almost as if she was avoiding something. But what and why? She thought about this for a moment and could only come to one conclusion. Perhaps she was reluctant to say whay race she was.

Again, why? Was it that she was ashamed? Ailyth was unable to come up with another suitable explenation. Well, if she didn't want to tell, she shouldn't force her. That was the nice thing to do. However, Ailyth's curiosity won out over her niceness.

"So, what kind of creature are you, then?"

She'd heard about other creatures being able to spot a non-human with one of their superhuman senses. Kinda like a sixth sense. The only area that Ailyth excelled in was hearing and, try as she might, she was unable to find anything in the girl's accent that would betray her race. She'd have to practice that skill sometime.[/color]

Monika heard the question and almost groaned. She hated to give out information about herself - she would do anything to avoid it. She would quite like to keep her species to herself until she was ready, thankyou! The saying 'feathers in a ruffle' wouldn't be too far off the mark in this type of situation.

"Oh...erm..." She caught sight of her watch. "Oh my god - I'll be late!" She gushed, stuffing her hands in her pockets and grasping the contents.

"Sorry - gotta run. I need to get changed and class starts in 10 minutes. See you there?" Without waiting for an anwer, she ran off towards the school.

Hope you don't mind - I just thought it might be more interesting if she kept Ailyth in the dark as long as possible. We can always RP out a follow up in the classroom/library or something and Monika could always do something that just makes the penny drop for Ailyth? Not sure.

As confused as one could possibly be, Ailyth watched as the girl stammered something about being late before rushing off towards school. That was rather abrupt. Just running off so quickly like that. For some reason, she really didn't want to reveal her race.

However, that only made Ailyth curiouser. She had to know what she was. And if the opportunity presented itself, she would play detective and figure it out!

"Okay! See you later!" Ailyth shouted after her before she began leisurely strolling up the path toward the school.
