A new day

[shadow]

draner Told Zeus to meet her at the lake.
she said she wanted to ask him something or something like that.
it had been a week sense they first met.
every day that passed they became closer friends.
the day was warm and the water was cool.
draner wasnt here yet maybe a swim wouldnt hurt.
so zeus ran and took mighty leap into the air.
with a huge splash the water covered Zeus with its cool clear surface.
swiming under water was so much fun.
to fell like nothing is an amazing experience.
after some time past Zeus saw some one in the distance.

[Anzeh]

It was true, before they parted ways that Saturday she'd told him to meet her at the lake in a week's time. It was now Saturday again, and true to her word, she would go to the lake. It was all up to Zeus to show up. Every day after class Renard let her take the reins of the body to meet Zeus, and the entire time the boy with the french accent was giggling giddily in her head. It was clear that he knew everything that was going on between them, even though the kitsune didn't even know herself.

She'd thought that in a week she would have figured out how she felt about the chimera definitively, but no dice. She was still as clueless as before. Draner wasn't sure whether she liked him like that or if he was just a close friend. Perhaps it could be both.

As Draner poked her head from out of the emerald brush, she walked along beside the lake. She had a little command over magic, but not very much. She dipped her head into the water and drank it, crisp clear and cold, she had never tasted mountain spring water as... delicious as this.

Once done, the female caught sight of Zeus and made her way over to him.

Seeing Draner made Zeus smile.
he loved to be with her it was always fun.
she wasn't like most girls.
she wasn't weak she could easily keep up with what ever Zeus did or could even surpass him.
and she wasn't clingy ether. most girls that tried to hook up with him wouldn't give Zeus any space.
maybe there wasn't any one for him but Zeus didn't care he had a great friend.
maybe she would like to swim with him.
but yet he wondered what she wanted to ask

Draner, for the most part, didn't spend nights with Zeus, and thanks to school he had entire mornings to himself. They were simply productive in their small amounts of time they had with each other. Even though they didn't really speak, saying things gave someone an opportunity to lie. If they never spoke then they could never lie to each other. And then if they could never lie, then their friendship would be strong and true.

When she was finally nearby but still on land, she watched him swim for a bit, not wanting to ask that dreaded question. It was only four words, four little tiny words, 11 letters, but they made her extremely uneasy. Draner was afraid if she asked that she would ruin the perfect friendship they had forged themselves. But... she needed to assure herself of this.

Besides, she could ask this and not destroy their friendship. Not completely anyway.

When he came out of the lake, she took a deep breath and asked, "Do you like me?"

Shocked but mostly caught off gared it took a second for zeus to respond.
after some thinking.
Zeus responded with a very sweet short and most of all quiet yes.
because in fact he did like Draner she was alot of fun to be with and like him spoke with action more than words. she tried to confert him in his time of pain.
and she was even a good hunter.
so Zeus got out of the lake and shook the water off.
walking over to Draner, Zeus said i like you a lot.

With bated breath she awaited an answer, any answer. When he said something, she thought her ears had deceived her. Had he really answered yes? Did he really like her? Draner was quietly stunned for a while before a smile took her face and she approached her friend and stared at him. After a moment she nuzzled him gently as though to say I like you too and plopped down at the base of a tree. Silently she awaited an idea of what they were going to do today. What were they going to do? Were they going to explore or hunt or play? Or were they just going to sit here and bask in the sun? It didn't really matter--it was all the same to the Kitsune.

feeling the nuge it made Zeus smile even bigger.
he was cared for even all his family was dead draner was the closest thing he had to it.
he didnt care what they did today he just felt the urge to be with drenar.
so he moved over to the tree and snugled up with the fox.
with a playful nuge he smilled at drenar.
altho Zeus thought he heard a snickering but just thought it better not to say.
with a quiet vocie Zues asked.
what would you like to do this fine day

[Anzeh]

"I dunno." She said back, resting her head, somehow, on his dark fur. She had only planned to come here and confirm that he didn't feel the same way she did, that it was just her female hormones acting up. But now that that was wrong, she hadn't thought to come up with anything for today. She wasn't hungry enough for hunting, and she didn't want to bask in the sun.

How about they play? "How about we just... play?" she asked.

That sounds like fun Zeus said in his normal quiet voice.
when he looked down at Drenar she had her head on his shoulder.
with a soft nuzzle he got up and stretchered. now looking for some game to play he saw the mouton that some of the lakes waters came from they looked like fun to climb.
What about a nice climb to the top of those moutons ill race you to the top.
with that he took off towards the white moutons

[Anzeh]

Draner looked around and when he moved away and stretched, the kitsune uncurled and stretched out, shaking a little bit. At the prospect of mountain climbing, she agreed and ran towards the mountains. As usual she was right on his tail, sometimes even beside or in front of him. She was just that good. When they came to mountain, she leaped up, ledge to ledge as they became clear. After sometime she located a mountain path she could take.

But, as luck would have it, she stranded herself. But she smelled something down the cave. Something that made her ears press to her head submissively and her tails between her legs, her whole form shaking in fear. She dashed off to find another way up. They could explore the cave another day.

As they were running he saw Drenars reaction to the cave.
worried for her he ran to her side to see what was wrong.
at first he just saw her with ears flat and tail between her legs.
but then she was off again to find a new way up.
for the lonest time he stayed behinder her.
why he deosnt know maybe because he was slower or maybe because he wanted to make sure she was safe.
but the higher they climb the less there was to grab on to.
the air became thiner and harder to breathe.
and visions blended in the fog.
before they knew it there were at the very top.
the sight was amazing.
you could see everything.
the woods the school the town and the lake.
it also stayed nice and cool.
the kinda cool that clears your mind and makes you think how small you really are.
amazed by the sight Zeus whent and sat on the cliff side the just climbed

Draner noticed that the higher they went the sheerer the cliffs got. That meant that there was less to hold on to and that climbing old got progressively more difficult. Not to mention the thinning air gave the kitsune an acute case of altititude sickness. But she pressed on, determined to get to the top. The fact that they were supposed to be racing was completely gone from her mind. Once they reached the top, Draner looked at everything that surrounded her, how small everything was. How small she was. She merely stood and looked at everything around her. She dreaded going back down as she remembered that cave and the way it made her feel. Something was in there. Something demonic and evil. And it frightened her to the core.

turning to see drenar Zeus saw the look of fear on here face.
so he moved beside her and rub against her as if to say have no fear i do anything to protect you.
after another long silence of looking around Zeus asked
what are you afraid of.
were does you fear lie.
then a cool breathe of wind flew by shivering the fox moved closer to the vixen.
then with a some what normal voice he said dont worry im here

[Anzeh]

So lost in her thoughts when she felt Zeus rub against her she jumped. She couldn't be too cautious. Things were dangerous up these mountains, no matter how pretty the water looked. His intentions went right to her heart. Even though them simply nudging and nuzzling was their most common way of talking (or communicating at least) they knew that they meant different things. After some time he spoke up and asked why she was frightened. Draner drew in some air and said, "There is something evil in that cave. I don't know what it is or what it wants, but its evil." The biting mountain air practically drew the kitsune into Zeus, almost as though to steal his body heat, not that she could. The simple don't worry relaxed her. So long as she didn't go near that cave again, her body shouldn't freeze up like that again.

seeing a storm brewing in the distance Zeus thought that they better find a new way down fast.
looking around he saw a small ledge off the back of the mountain.
thinking quickly he lead Drenar towards it and the began the climb down.
even tho they wouldnt pass the cave the climb was twice as hard on the other side.
rocks were slippery from the morning dew that still hung on the stones.
but that didnt slow them by much.
just before the couple got halfway down it started to rain hard.
lightning popping fearlessly all around.
and there off to the side was the other end of the cave.
Zeus knew Drenar didnt want to go back but it was near impossible to keep climbing the slick rocks.
he gave a look to Drenar as to say you choose were we go.
