Coyle was nervous. No, not nervous like nervous. Not any of that spazzy, shivery, whimpery kid stuff that mortals got themselves into doing. Nervous like twitchy - nervous like anticipating something. Nervous like sitting at the edge of your seat, clawing the stuffing out of your armchair, grinding your teeth together nervous.
That kind of nervous.
He waited, and when he couldn't wait anymore - when the pressure to move and do something was so great that his tiny little skull might explode - he waited some more.
And just like that, the bell rang.
A flood of snot nosed brats crammed into the hallway, pushing and shoving like a pack of wild dogs quarreling at a kill. Coyle vanished - came out of that nice visible plain and sat there, watching all he kiddies flood by like herds of sheep - not caring that the shouted and bickered until his ears were numb.
And then they left...
Silence. The nerve-wracking silence.
School was finally out for the day!
Coyle shifted back into the visual plane and leaned against the lockers, picking at his nails in an overly bored and over embellished manner.
Hey, what else was there to do..?

There was his chance. Zeus was looking for a good fight, but until now he could single anyone out. but here is his chance. fair looking fight Zeus thought to him self while sharping his blade. this might be able to amuse me at least a little while. hope he doesn't end up like the last one. not a fight at all, not even a challenge. now with kitana on his back and white eyes focusing on his prey' Zeus moves in for a closer look. silent as a feather but swift like the wind tree by tree shadow by shadow he Zeus creeps in ready to pounce.

Coyle remained bored.
Very bored.
In fact, he was always bored... It must be some kinda mental thing. Or it could be something he picked up when he was a little plagueling. You know, he might even blame it on this lame dimension, but Coyle had always been a bored creature. There seemed nothing for him to do in all his travels - and he had traveled a lot. His temporal claws were fun to use in mass scale. He had torn his way through dimension after dimension, without finding anything to do at all.
First he tried sightseeing - no dice. Then he messed with the animals - still nothing. The he messed with the natives and got the same frustrating results. Hell, he'd even tried to be nice a few times, only to be intensely bored a few hours later.
He had to face it. He would always be bored. It was nice to be physical though. He'd always drifted around like smoke, not really touching stuff. One he got a good anchor and had himself set up as a corporeal being, the possibilities got a little more fun.
He liked being a real boy...
But enough about pasts. The point was, even though the ability to physically tear someone limb from limb was fun, he still hadn't achieved the point where he was truly, undeniably interested.
He got interested for about an hour, maybe more at most. Nothing kept his attention for long though.
"What a waste..." He sighed, taking out a cigarette and lighting it with a flick of his fingers. He didn't really smoke, but it seemed cool at the time to buy some smokes. Now he was just using them to waste the package.
"Damn, terrible waste..." he puffed, leaning there.

Zeus had now come with in range for a good strike. now taking a deep breathe and a few secondes to draw out his powers. Zeus had always been very gifted in the art of magic even tho he had never had a lesson in his life. as he felt a warm surge flow through his arm he knew he was ready. as every second passed he grew stronger; the power running through his vains all the way to his very heart. his grayish eyes turned pure white and his hair even redder. BUT! something caught his attention he heard the male mubble of riping limbs off people. was he really that powerful? no he couldnt be; not some male human. but still I must be ready for anything. Drawing more power from his scar and pulling out his very sharp blade Zeus pounced!

So there he was, just sitting there bored as can be, when something slammed into him.
The first thought that went through his head was "Finally something interesting."
The next thought was "Crap! I'm being attacked!"
Without hesitation, Coyle scuttled away from his strange aggressor. The first sight of him was a boy - normal. Underneath was the visage of a very hyped looking chimera...
"Hey! What gives?!" The temporal beast snarled. Parts of his skin dissolved, revealing the oily black-purple tentacles slithering out from his shoulder blades. They were about six feet long, and snaked agitated around Coyle's head, trying to sense what this chimera wanted.
Let's see... no name, no age, no real background....
What the-?
All the temporal beast saw was the need to fight. Nothing else emanated from the chimera's little skull.
"Weeeeeelll....." the beast hissed, a little more interested. "Aren't you fun? I can't read anything from you..."

the first strike was successful but Barley able to contan his surprise Zeus was shocked at the transformation.
Zeus a challenge this will be i can sense it. but i have not any other choice i need the money. i haven't eaten anything for three days. and if im lucky maybe a little to spare and find a few lessons on magic.
Bracing him self with sword gripped tightly in hand, all focus and his target. surging power to his blade as lightning starts forming from its edge.
Ready for the fight Zeus felt somthing; something he hasnt felt in a long time. Zeus felt fear fear and he felt low
to be set at the point to fight just eat. to be put at the lowest of lows. with no name or memory of the past
but he would have to worry about that later. now was time to fight. that said Zeus swung a fast strike towards the head and with that the battle began.

Just before the next strike - a moment before that strange, lightning-sworded attack - Coyle got the first hint of an actual thought.
Hehe... didn't know who he was, did he? What a fun little problem...
...and then of course came that sword. Coyle, not being partial to being hit with lightning, dodged out of the way like a pansy.
Hey! Just because he was resistant to magic didn't mean he liked getting pummeled with it! It's like not being allergic to pollen. Sure, you don't mind walking through a meadow of flowers, but you wouldn't much appreciate having those flowers rammed down your nasal cavities until they popped out your eye sockets, would you? Yeah, exactly. No lighting sword for him.
Coyle flipped out of reach of the sword, landing as if weightless on top of a row of lockers. His tentacles flicked out eagerly, trying to sense something a bit more of the chimera, but in all reality, it was mostly to scare the poor guy.
Coyle had got all he needed to from this one...
"Awww" he sneered, sticking his tongue out like a three year old brat. In all reality, Coyle's mental maturity was not that high above a toddler's. Sure, he was more intelligent and wise than anyone from this dimension, but he was still a child at mind.
"Looky here, a vagrant! What, can't remember where ya came from, sparky? How about where you got that scar? No? Not a thing?"
The beast let out an icy laugh.
"Too bad. Picked the wrong all-powerful entity to fight though, sparky. Could have done better than that..."
Coyle sifted through the sad assortment of memories the chimera had scrounged up over time, not really finding anything interesting. He picked up on a present need though - one of feeling hunger.
Coyle, not being from this plane of existence, had never felt hunger before. He wondered how bad it hurt?
That sounded fun. Very quickly, he flicked a tentacle in the chimera's direction, touching that part of the creature's mind that held these strange, corporeal thought.
His first reaction was to flinch. The tentacle recoiled like a whip.
"Ouch..." Didn't like that feeling... Others were better...

Who care maybe i might stand a chance against this guy. he seams immortal such power i wonder if i could ever be that strong. no need for that now. concentrating harder than ever Zeus unleashed power that seam to come from no were. and the blade turned to a diamond sword with a purple flame inside. Who am I? and were did this come from.

Still laughing, Coyle barely noticed the purplish flaming sword that was careening towards his head. Still, he was able to see it eventually. He wasn't a moron. He was, however, uncommitted.
You see, when you've lived as long as time has been time, and you have been bored that entire span, you start to question stuff. Coyle started to question God about three seconds in. He started to question the sanctity of life five seconds in. It took a whole minute to question the authority of others... and it took a thousand accumulative years (for he had been traveling in and out of time) to question whether his survival instinct was worth anything.
So that's why, when posed with a giant, sparkly magical sword at his forehead, Coyle came to the funny little thought that "maybe physical pain is worse than hunger pain?"
He was wrong, but only by a little, tiny bit...
"Holy crap!" The beast had fallen backwards, the sword's slice going down the length of his chest. He had sort of not let a direct hit happen, but it was enough for the bubbling black-purple blood to seethe out of his body, sizzling like acid as soon as it hit air.
Coyle, thankfully, did not have to obey gravity. He fell within an inch of the floor, then floated there, an arm cupped over his bleeding, burning shoulder.
"Damn, I'm stupid!" he snarled. With a twitch of his tentacles, he rose from the floor, setting himself lightly down on another row of lockers farther away from the chimera.
Zeus... That's what he called himself.
Coyle peeled his bloody hand off of his chest, smiling slightly as the blood stitched itself back into his body, sealing it up.
Resistance, in this case, was not futile. It was simply delayed.
"You hurt me..." he giggled, his usual ghoulish smile appearing across his face. "How interesting... Let's fight."
And like that, the game was on. This foolish little mortal had no idea what he'd gotten himself into...
Coyle snapped his fingers, and suddenly the world got a bit darker. Literally, none of that metaphorical ****. He'd entered them into his plane - one he'd reserved just for special cases like this.
And the fun things he could do with this place... Sparky would just have to see.
"Can't touch this." the beast laughed. No, really. You can't touch anything. Try it! You're a ghost now, buddy.... My ghost! And I think I hear the hounds baying for a little hunting."
That wasn't a metaphor either. The sounds of baying dogs came up, high and wailing, from far off. This would be good!

Now with in a new realm everything seamed so much duller and depressed and even foggy
Zeus What is this place? were am I? whats happening?
Now hearing the sounds of dogs this sent shivers down Zeus's spine. there was only one hope of making out alive he would have to out smart this guy.
then out of the conner of his eye he saw a dog jump from behide. using his quick reflexes he quickly swung his blade and sliced the dog in two.
then came two more then more and more. using is swift skill with a sword Zeus hacked down dog after dog after dog leaving a big pile of body's. but they kept on coming again and again. but he never tired he showed and felt nothing. basically becoming a mindless killer. finally the last dog came and was quickly beheaded. and with that a grunt and nod towards the other person.

Coyle, being a classic, run-of-the-mill supervillain and all around "bad guy," had always taken it upon himself to follow the bad guy's rule book. - and yes, there is a bad guy rule book; most bad guys just didn't know about it - So saying, according to chapter 19, article 3, subsection 24, it was always a good idea, after coming up with an amazing and brilliant plan in which said good guy will never escape from, to taunt said good guy and then laugh evilly until said good guy is felled by your brilliance.
Coyle had just given his "you're so doomed your going to die" speech, and now he commenced with the laughing.
Coyle's voice, despite his soft, youthful appearance, was deep and cold. The sound of his voice was rich, heady, and full of liveliness and charm. People were often said to be mesmerized by this voice - perfect though it was. It was the sound of a demon's voice - so angelic but with that little singe of malice that burned at the tongue. An angel's glory, and a hell-creature's wrath. And just a hint of poor, pathetic, innocent child in that cocktail. The sound of a small kid too young for sin.
Coyle's laugh was no different than this. It was beautiful, but it was terrible. So cold and heartless, yet so warm with life and living feeling.
....and it also got choked up in his throat when he noticed all the hounds were dead and heaped into piles.
"Hahahahaha... hey!" The temporal beast's perfect voice got a little more high and whiny. "You killed my dogs! That's- You're not supposed to do that!"
Realizing how upset he was getting, Coyle then stopped immediately, clearing his throat so that the angelic tones once again appeared.
"Ahem, I mean... That was some nice work. What an interesting ability you have there."
The beast floated off the locker, weightless. He drifted over to the strange chimera and his funny little sword, and he slung his arm around Zeus's shoulder.
"Now that was something else... Very nice. Very funny. And here I thought you were some slouch. A mistake on my part. I apologize."
Coyle pointed along a long, narrow corridor, the likes of which was obscured by the thickening fog of the plane they were in.
"I see you look a little down. Well lucky you found me, hmm? That way there's a five star restaurant of a cafeteria full of food. They'll cook you anything you want to eat. Free. My treat..."
The beast paused a moment for emphasis.
"But it's under one condition. I want to fight you again. Not now! No, I'm not in the mood for another swing of your sword. That damn thing hurts. But soon. Later, but very soon. ....so is it a deal?"
Coyle appeared in front of Zeus, hand out, waiting for the chimera to take it. Deals were fun. They were always great fun. And this guy had something interesting to offer Coyle - he had a past that wasn't written down anywhere.
He wondered what that was about?
And the mystery was killing him. He had to know. If only to see the limits of this guy's strength, he had to know.
Besides, there wasn't anything else interesting happening, was there?

Shocked and surprised Zeus took his hand. i mean what els was he suppose to do. he was hungry and had no real other choice. that and it would be unwise to be on this guys bad side. with a nod he put away his new sword and walked toward the restaurant. when Zeus got in the restaurant his jaw dropped never had he seen so much food in his life. he could finally eat his full. and so he did he eat and eat till he couldn't eat any more. then left the building but when he got out side the strange person was gone. who was he and were did he get such power? better yet were did this power come from zeus thought while wielding his sword.
