Chasity watched Kendryek walk out the door at a swift pace. He wasn't coming? He had whispered something to the Asian girl beside him and pointed at her before leaving. Her curiosity was now perked and she wondered who exactly this girl was to him. It would be strange if they were what was called an article. It would be really odd.
Before she could wonder any more about the situation, she realized most of the students were lining up and that she should probably do the same. Standing, she took her place in line. She didn't know anyone that was here. Was going a bad idea? No, it would be alright. This would be a good time for her to broaden her horizons. She needed to do that, especially since she didn't know anyone here.
But wait. Where was Whisper? Was he not coming too? Now that really stunk! She had wanted to go down a few slopes with him. It would almost be boring without him. She'd have to make do. Maybe the two teens that looked like twins would be fun to hang out with. The girl talking to them, too, looked to be a fun spirit.
She made a mental note to introduce herself once they were in the Alps. Speaking of which, how was the portal supposed to work? Someone had said it was the kind that sucked you in, but how exactly did that feel? It didn't really matter, now, though, for she was going to find out in a matter of minutes.

As the little children started to line up, the beast Coyle could only smile to himself and glare at the girl Elle. That is, until that Russian freak whispered something comforting to her, and led her away with a malicious intent.
Then Coyle's anger bled through in the form of a huge, sad frown.
...Did this creature want to die? Apparently so! He sure did put up all the signs of someone who wanted a little help with tying the noose around his neck. Luckily, Coyle was like a boy scout - he could tie knots very well.
Sidestepping to the two unicorns - obviously siblings - he distracted himself by replying where the absent minded Crane had failed.
"Don't take it personally that he didn't talk to you. The headmaster's a ditz. He's also afraid of kids."
He'd need a cover, especially from Crane. These two looked like they could use a tour guide, and he sure as hell needed a shield from the chimera's creepy mind powers. Besides, the Russian looked like the kind to skin Elle alive without flinching, but he also looked like a private kind of man. He'd need some privacy if he were going to do anything drastic with Elle or Coyle, and that was something he could work with.
"But forget him and his stupid magic. I'll make sure all your questions are answered to yoru satisfaction. No prob."
Coyle smiled happily, still looking at the Russian out of the corner of his eye. He'd get that little frozen fur ball. He'd rip the maggot away from his Elle.
Coyle cringed slightly as he felt the girl touching his anchor. Owie... Why did she have to touch it so much? Was she that insecure?
Well.... maybe that was something that could be put to good use....

Following closely at his sister's heels, Luca waited for the inevitable moment when she would start rambling. When it came, he did his best to control his external reactions—his lips twitched upward, but he managed to keep from grinning like a hyena. She was fascinated by the pillar towering above them, of course, and she was firing questions off at rapid speed. It was no wonder to him why the man she addressed simply ignored her and chose to speak with everyone else instead.
"C'mon, Lil," he said kindly, tugging her hand. They hadn't yet turned away from the pillar completely when a pretty, dark-haired girl approached them.
.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.
Lily jumped. The older girl had, according to her, appeared out of no where. The words, "Neat trick," had almost been out of her mouth, but she got distracted by the pillar again. The dark-haired girl was obviously cool if she was excited about the giant rock...thing.
"Yeah! I was just asking—" she paused, realizing she didn't know the man's name. "—er, that guy about it. He didn't answer me, though... Hm. Oh well. Who are you?" Lily spoke quickly, as usual, and all of her sentences flowed together into one mass of babble. It wasn't an unfriendly babble, however. Her tone was light, bubbly, and warm. Childlike.
Her next distraction? A man. He approached them right after the girl had, telling Lily not to take the other man's actions personally. Apparently, the other man was the headmaster. She felt Luca's elbow lightly nudge her in the side, undoubtedly noticing the man-in-glasses' title. "Oh, I had just about forgotten I'd even said an unanswerable word to him, to be honest," she told the unnamed man. "Questions... Yes! Are we really going to the Alps? Who are you? Are my brother and I even allowed to be here? We weren't technically invited, but we're new here. Today. So..."

Aori watched the others interact, wondering just what she should try to do. She was waiting on the portal to draw them out, spacing out a little, as she waited there. She didn't really know why, but she suddenly recalled what snow looked like, from when she was younger, dancing under a Sakura tree, as the snow fell, being laughed at by her parents. She smiled absently as this vision came to mind, of her father and mother smiling at her, and laughing. She wondered if this would be like that time. She didn't really know what all would happen, but at the moment, she didn't really care, for her memories reminded her how happy she could be.

Coyle flinched a bit at the girl's rapid-fire questioning. What was this, a race? She needed to chill off the caffeine. He'd heard it was bad for you and stuff.
But still, the girl was getting chummy with him, and that was all he really needed about now. A little distraction, and a little small talk would do him well, so he tried to quickly read out what the girl was saying and answer it to the best of his abilites.
Being helpful wasn't as rewarding as everyone said it was...
"Um, right. That guy over there is Professor Daniel Crane, headmaster and king of the dork squad. I'm Coyle, your friendly neighborhood Temporal Beast - I'll be giving you all the boring info of the trip and making sure the yetis don't eat you - yeah, I guess you're allowed to be here. It's reservation by presentation, so show up and you're invited. Yeah, it's the annual holiday Alps trip. Swiss Alps, but I'm not sure if there is any other kind of Alps so..."
Eh, ran out of steam. It was so hard to crank out answers when you're being barraged with them. Coyle took a deep breath, stole a little glare at the Russian, and continued.
"...and yeah.... That's about it..." He snickered. "Tour books are $4.99, but we're out of 'em today."
Feeling very accomplished, he turned away from the two siblings, smacked his hand against one of the stone pillars, and sparked a huge, blue vortex in the middle of the floor.
"Hey! It's not ready yet!" Crane yelped, scuttling over to play with the coordinates. Coyle snorted and grabbed the girl unicorn's arm.
"I'm bored, so we're leaving now."
He pulled the unicorn girl up to the swirling vortex, frothing out multicolored sparks like a raging storm.
"Wanna go first? It doesn't hurt... much."

Chasity looked around the line and wished she had someone to talk to. Everyone had some friend somewhere to talk to. Everyone except her and that Asian girl that Kendryek had spoken with. She couldn't help but wonder what kind of person she was. Kendryek seemed to get along with her quite well. It sent a few sparks of jealousy though her, but she quieted them. She had Whisper now. He was enough.
Suddenly, a huge vortex opened up in the middle of the floor. Professor Crane shouted something about it not being ready, but she was only focusing on the people who were about to jump in. What if they landed in the wrong place? What would happen then? Would the rest of them continue on to the Alps while someone went and fetched those that went through? There were so many questions shooting through her mind at the same time that she was almost dizzy!
She backed up the the edge of the room as far away as she could get from the portal, her eyes wide. The professor had said that it wasn't ready so she wasn't about to go diving in there without approval from him. It was most likely chemically unstable or something. She didn't know much about portals, so she couldn't be sure, but there was no way she was putting herself in possible danger!

She had almost been swallowed up by the portal, her shorts under her skirt was revealed by the drag from the giant vortex, and she was just barely keeping out of reach of it. She fought against it, uncertain if it was safe. She had stood a bit too close to it while the line had been forming, and was hoping this would be a good trip. She was scared, and it was showing in the fact that a few chunks of her fake skin fell off, revealing her wings, and her feet. She looked like something that wasn't human, and that made her more fearful. She was trying to hold her skin together, and forgetting that she was being drawn into the vortex.
"Kowaii! Help me, Onegai!" she cried, saying she was scared, and asking for help, she teared up, as she flapped her wings, trying to push herself back, realizing what was happening, as a feather or two fell, it was only the lower part of her legs revealed, and not her feet, her wings were revealed, and so was portions of her face around her eyes. She knew that in this half skinned form, she would fail to hide, and also fail to be able to pull out. There was a heat coming from her, as she was panicking, losing her grip, as she tried to keep out of the portal, finding herself, every second, being drawn in.

After listening to the little girl scream her head off a moment, Coyle had to either say something or burst out laughing. It didn't matter much to him which, but he was pretty sure everyone else was partial to the first option.
"Yeesh! Chill out little horsey!" He growled. "It's safe as walking through a door!"
He took a quick look at Crane.
"It is, isn't it?"
The chimera stammered for a few seconds, then managed to spit out a word or two.
"Well... yes, but that's not the point-"
"Then away we go!" The beast smiled, shoving the girl through the vortex and jumping through himself.
Finally, things were starting to get interesting!

Chasity saw the Asian girl back up and cry out, frightened by the spinning vortex. She wasn't sure of the girls name, but she understood the girl's cry for help and couldn't help but push her own self away from the wall. Its not like the vortex was pulling people in, it was just very large and very frightening. Being a cat, she wasn't too frightened of it, but it was still big... and unknown to her. She could only imagine how this phoenix was reacting.
Quickly running up to the girl, she turned her away from the portal and shoved her toward the wall, quickly returning to the relatively safe spot. Once again she told herself that the portal wasn't dangerous. She looked up at the one guy, one of the people in charge evidently, and decided that the safest place was on the wall. If that guy had his way, he'd probably push every single one of them in.
Before she could think on the matter any longer, he pushed the one girl through the portal before jumping in himself. Just like that, they were gone. A split second later, Chasity shot her eyes towards Professor Crane. What was he going to do now? Things were getting interesting and fast. She wasn't sure if that was good or bad. Sure, school trips involving quite a few mythical creatures was bound to be weird, and schedules were meant to be broken, but did this cross the line?
Not sure what to do next, she turned to the Asian girl and said, "Daijoobu desuka?" Switching to English, she continued. "I'm Chase, by the way."
