"Thank you."
The wolf was very happy now. Giddy, really. Such a rare moment, it ought to be treasured, not flaunted like some cheap piece of jewelry but kept safely close to the heart. Safely close to his pounding heart, already swimming with the energy of impulse that could only come from the most sacred of all events.
Love? Don't be stupid...
The hunt. From this self loathing little lump of meat might come the exuberance that he could only have every once in a while. That taste of the divine salvaged from the remains of a life not worth living. And it was delicious. He was so hungry...
Grabbing another of the little cake things to his left, Le Cyll absentmindedly popped it in his mouth. He could care less for the actual flavor. All he needed was something to quiet that excitement. He didn't want to get too excited, now did he? He might do something bad...
Tilting his head to the side slightly, he could only look at the unassuming features of this Areon. The only question was, could this young thing be what he needed? He looked the part, and he had a certain degree of an anti social personality that would suggest so, but he had to be so careful. So careful... He would hate to eat the wrong person. That would just be rude.
"So tell me, you must put up with her every day?"
He lowered his voice, so Nami could not hear him.
"Yes, I think you have to. She's family, and you must respect that. She can be aggravating though. I've known her for all of a week and still she gives me headaches. But, what will you do? I'm sure you defend her. Vehemently. You seem like the loyal kind of creature that might hold a grudge against the one who tries to harm that delicate little bundle of sunshine."
He thought about it, making sure this was correct.
"Yes, I can see that you do... I can't say I'd challenge that love, that devotion. I would never test that bond you have with her. I'll let you know that right now."
He smiled, kindly, watching Areon's reaction.
However there is little else you love in the world. Little else you see fit enough to care about. And why should you? Why should you care about the things that day after day mock you? How could they possibly know who you are? What has happened to you? They do not see the pain it puts you through, but Nami does, and that is why you are so devoted."
Yes, he could see something had happened to this one. Some kind of tragedy. Hadn't they all suffered it? Most were not born this way. Most were dealt the most vile of fates, and it has turned them rotten on the inside.
"I can only imagine what it was. I won't ask you tell me. That would be an insult. I can only stop at knowing that you have been dealth with unfairly, and it has injured you... I'm right, am I not?

Elle could only watch in confusion as Ivan strode past her and out of the building. That was pretty abrupt... And all over a little, gold ball? Could it really be that important? Well it must be something more than a broken piece of jewelry or else he wouldn't have gotten so worked up about it, right?
Whatever his problem was, Elle was feeling rather relieved to be alone again. Something about him was just... Threatening. At least, she thought something was. Before tonight he had seemed so calm and charming... Perhaps... Perhaps she was just imagining things.
Dropping the orb into one of the inside pockets of her purse, a thought suddenly struck Elle. She had forgotten... She didn't like to be alone. At least, she didn't like to look like she was alone. Brushing a lock of her hair behind her ear, she hurried over to the food table. She wasn't really hungry, she just didn't want to stand in the middle of the floor by herself.

Shishi smiled warmly. She could tell that the girl was delighted to receive a compliment which made Shishi's nervousness dissipate all together. "Fiona? I like that name. It's way better than mine," she said as she shook Fiona's hand. "Yeah, you probably haven't seen me around. I just started a few days ago plus I normally stick to myself when surrounded by people I don't know."
"Like now," she thought to herself. If it hadn't of been for Fiona, Shishi would still be off in the corner watching everyone else have fun. And who would want to go to a ball just to stand around and watch. Shishi turned towards Fiona and asked, "Do you want to go get some snacks?" She looked around at all the students who seemed to appear out of nowhere. They all seemed to know each other. Fiona seemed like she was one of those people who knew everyone. Befriending her might be Shishi's ticket to popularity, but of course she wasn't the type to just use someone for her own pleasure. Who knows, Fiona might just be the only friend Shishi needed.

Le Cylls’s sudden remark on Nami pulled Areon clean out of his daze. His voice was low keeping away from Nami’s hearing reach. Why was he so interested all of a sudden? Where had that come from? But anyway yes, some people can say putting up with a girl like Nami a talented gift. Her sunshine attitude annoying most, how words seem to flow out of her mouth like a never ending river. Some wonder how in the world could her possibly keep an ounce of sanity with this girl clinging to him always. You could say after years of putting up with her he slowly but surely immune himself of her opposite like attitude.
“Patience is how I deal with her.”
Yes that was exactly it. Patience. He’d gain the skill over time yet it still had room for improvement. He would be lying if he ever claimed Nami doesn’t sometimes play around with his nerves. His patience has been tested several times which than he must practice self control. No, he did not gain this skill all on his own. Attending a martial arts dojo has helped him greatly. He would also refer to his classes as a great place for him to vent putting all his frustrations into his punches and kicks. Le Cyll went on his words now reaching into deep down into a personal level. He wasn’t hesitant which made Areon to began wondering. The only way he could have accepted Nami was not by patience alone but by helping pull through the darkest period of his life. The only one who has ever attempted to offer help in any way.
“U could say that.” Areon agreed to Le Cyll’s question.
Memories flowed back to his life before her. His corrupted dark life laid out in front of him the past freeing itself from the back corners of his mind. The harsh torment he bared with the beast whom threatened him. The awful felling made its way through his soul gripping his heart trying to claim his purity as it did so, or the little he thought he had left. Aeron arms crossed fists clenched tightly shut the bones in his hands screaming in protest from the pressure being inflicted on them. No he could not tell the tale of his past to just anyone. The memories……they are dangerous….he could lose control to the demon inside self control lacked I that are. Areon’s black eyes darkened if possible flashing quickly red as he tried to dismiss the thoughts swimming restlessly in his head. A silent tension atmosphere surrounded.

Le Cyll nodded, taking everything Areon said down to memory. Patience, hmm? Le Cyll could not honestly say he had much patience. Very little of it, actually. It was a painful thing for him to endure, this patience, so he did not endure it at all.
That is most likely why he was so interested in what Areon had to say, little though it may be. Anything he let slip would be useful - anything he said could be used to build a strong enough case that Areon was the one he was looking for. Sure, there was Seth too, but Areon had long been someone of interest, and he would not pass up the chance to indulge his sense of curiosity now. If Areon did not fit his oh so strict profile, then Le Cyll would simply ignore his existence. He could be labeled along with his little friends as a useless component not worth investing energy in.
That would be sad, however. He would like to see Areon turn out to be exactly what he needed.
As that notion crossed his mind, he noticed a small change in Areon. He seemed darker somehow, which was fairly interesting, and a good trick, but it wasn't enough to satisfy his parameters. Le Cyll could act all tough and evil too, but you didn't see his eyes getting blacker, and his aura getting darker. It was unprofessional. He would save his beast for something more worthwhile. He did not need to scare people with it.
"Nice. Very nice." He commented, unimpressed. "Does little Nami know about it?"
Of course she did. It only made sense. No wonder he put up with her, he felt he owed her a debt of devotion because she could share this burden with him. He wondered how far this thing inside Areon would go - how threatening it could become. If it was too much f a problem, it didn't matter if Areon was good enough or not. Le Cyll would have to kill him simply to avoid competition.
"A word of advice to you." He said, just a hint of his naturally vicious tone escaping. "Keep that thing on a tight leash, or it will eat you alive one day..."
And how did he know this? Well, that was easy. He'd had his own little monster take a bite out of his sanity. He could see Areon had the same trouble. That thing inside, it was quite evil. He was sure Areon didn't want it in there, eating away at him. Who did? But it was there, and how would you ever escape it? Le Cyll didn't know, or he'd have gladly tossed it aside and given up all things having to do with his questionable hobbies. He couldn't though, and so he was trapped inside with something not very nice at all.
He could say one thing about it, it wasn't very pleasant... He had found his monster while showing the utmost of patience with his demon of a father. He wondered how Areon had found his...

Areon breathed calming himself sucking in the aura that was let loose unwillingly. Self control. He needed it. He gives a signal of weakness without which he hated. Pitiful really He shoved the wild animal back in it cage his little episode leaving him feeling rather sour. He hid his negative feelings, not a hint was shown. The side effects began kicking in his head pounding with a headache. He tried to ignore it, well tried was an understatement, actually this task wasn’t at all hard. He’d gotten headaches so often ignoring them came automatically. He blinked few times concentrated enough to catch Le Cyll’s next question about Nami’s knowledge. Know? Could he tell? Well probably after the episode it was obvious something sinister lay under his skin. Yet, many times no one would notice even standing as close as he was. How is that then? How come he could see it so easily? Inhuman senses or abilities didn’t count in this matter. Finally Areon responded to his with a simple nod. Of course she knew. She knew everything there is to his not so little secret. She was the only one outside of family who did. That night, that unforgotten night, when his secret was revealed to her. The danger she was placed in once she knew.
What Le Cyll had advised him out of the blue once again really took Areon off guard. He had trouble this time suppressing his reaction his eyes narrowing in reply. So he did know, the fact was 100% true. A leash he said? No, Areon had the animal in a cage in chains yet periodically the chains needed a repair. The beast constantly tugging at its chains persistent for its freedom; the cage ahead barely an obstacle. It has escaped a couple of times the fight to throw it back in its captivity a challenge, success resulting ahead. Rarely, would Areon lose control of the beast completely. Funny how this one person brought so much back, He couldn’t help but pinpoint the source of his curse. A curse placed on him unwillingly on an innocent soul who had done nothing wrong. The blame held to his grandfather. Oh the resentment he felt towards him.
“My demon is imprisoned.” He was going to leave it at that but a question lingered. “What exactly intrigues you about me? Not just anyone comes to a stranger digging into their personal life.” Al serious he wanted to know. His turn to throw out the questions.
<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>
What exactly is going on? What are they talking about? Why are they so quiet? Nami leaned forward little trying to catch a hint of what those boys were saying. She was confused as to why they kept to themselves, their conversation a secret to her. She debated whether or not to demand they keep her in their loop until suddenly the atmosphere darkened quickly lightening up as if it wasn’t even there. Her eyes locked onto Areon. Only one person could cause such a feeling, unless Le Cyll….no it had to be Areon. But where did it come from, what had caused it? What did Le Cyll tell, him? Not knowing practically killed her, only she could feel Areon’s danger besides his family. Or so she thought. Unlikely for her she remained quiet which was horribly annoying. Not after long a whine slipped purposely. Foolish of her to believe she could stay quiet.

"Oh no way, your name is really nice!" Fiona grinned at Shishi as the both of them shook hands. Even if she was new, she couldn't believe that she didn't have any friends here at the school yet. She seemed to be such a nice and sweet girl, and who wouldn't want to be friends with someone like that?
"Aww so you are new here? I know what that's like; I started like a month ago! It was kind of scary at first, but I've found that everyone here is really super nice." Fiona's smile never faded as she recalled everyone she had met. She was so afraid that the "creatures" attending the school would be very different than the humans she had grown up with, but to her relief everyone had been really nice.
Fio was actually really happy that she attended this school. She was meeting such nice people, learning a lot of new things, and even going on her own little adventures... It was perhaps even more exciting than her high school was, and she was glad that she made up her mind to go here.
"Do you want to go get some snacks?" Shishi suddenly asked, and Fiona nodded happily to that.
"Oh yeah sure, that's a good idea! My date is actually over there at the snack table, and he's been taking a long time." Fiona giggled. "He seemed really hungry for some reason..."

Coming out of the stupor of his thoughts - out of the memories of his father - Le Cyll could only smile bleakly.
"I doubt you'd want to know, although I'm sure you would understand my reasons if you knew."
Yes, it wasn't like he got all tingly and happy when he was eating someone. It was actually quite disgusting to him. He was a neat freak enough as it was without delving into the intricate and vile messes the living body could create. He shuddered just to think about it.
But he didn't have a choice, now did he? If he did, he would be a much happier individual. If he had a choice, he could be off at some esteemed medical establishment somewhere, making a fortune and spending his time on his most favorite things. But he wasn't. He didn't have a choice, and there would be no dwelling in anything even remotely enjoyable until he fed his demon so it would be quiet for another month. Then he would feed it again, and again, and again into infinity. This thought was painful to him, so he disgustedly ignored it.
"Yes, it's better if you don't ask that question. It's a bit complicated."
He wondered if this little Areon needed to satisfy his monster in this way. Surely he had issues with it. He had heard it baying at it's chains, and he had somehow kept it down. Le Cyll did not have this problem. Never. That nice little voice inside his head was quiet for the most part, and it only talked when he allowed it to. Still, there was the whole killing thing... He didn't like that part very much, but he was sure it was what kept himself from going completely mad.
Yes, that sounded about right. He sighed, swiping another appetizer.
"I believe Nami wants to know what we're talking about."

Naide smirked as she felt pretty boy tense and leave abruptly. So, her game was up then. She closed her eyes and a silky chuckle came from her lips.
What would be the fun in giving up so easily ?
She watched everything unfolding and couldn't help but feel quite pleased with her little game. She approached Coyle, a slight grin upon her features as she observed what was going on.
"My, my, pretty boy, do you need some help ?"
She slung her arm around his wait in almost a reassuring way, for once not trying to rub someone's pain in their face.
She'd have to settle for teasing him later.

So he wouldn't state his reasons. Typical. Areon prepared for such a response a little dissapointed that his question wasn't answered but he isn't the type to push for one. If he wanted him to know he would have said something and obviously he didn't which increased his wonder. Hmm. Makes sense though, Areon han't said anything abut himself so why would he expect something out of him? He warned Areon that he need not know the reason to why he intrigues him. Suspicion aroused. What kind of demon was in him? He could tell there was one, after a while being in close distance his own demaon sensed another. How ling has he had his? Areon received his curse at birth. Unfair really. Two demon possesed students attending this one school, should this relization worry him. How much control did each of them have? He dismissed the thought. Why should it worry himthough? He didn't botheranswering his own question. Strange therewa another similar to him. Well the matter seemed over once Le Cyll pointed out Nami's curiosity towards there little chath. He looked at her not relizing the glare he gave resulting in Nami's guilty look and tiny wave. Getting over it quickly she pranced over to them.
"Well you two seemed tobe enfulfed in your own little ther! You completely secluded me! So rude! Especially you Le Cyll! Shocker!" she played around giggling. "So what exactly were you guys talking about?"
Areon sighed. Must she have to know every little thing that happens areound here? "Nothing interesting." he lied, Nami def not conviced.
She turned to Le Cyll for an answer Areon scoffing in the background. The phrase personal space apperently not existing in her dictionary.
"So what were you two talking about? It lookked like an intense conversation!"

Coyle 's head turned, deafly. He really hadn't heard what Nadie said, but he could smell her there, and he wondered why she was talking to him.
No one was supposed to see him in his kitty cat form.
"Oh crap I did let you see me didn't I? Coyle tipped hi head, tentacles hugging neatly into the line of his back, secondary paws snatching up a little flute of bubbly stuff to wash down the crab. He guessed he'd forgotten to turn that off.
That was the funny thing about his power. In different dimensions, it was instinctual. Here, he had to kind of "switch on" his power for it to work. ****ed him off at first, but now he was pretty good at remembering. When he had become visible to Nadie at the park, he guessed he hadn't turned that visibility off though.
The huge cat-thing shrugged, tying to look indifferent.
"It's nothing, Sunshine. Nothing at all."
He had turned back into his human form now, and immediately she had slung her arm around him. He smiled, intrigued. Someone wanted to play with matches today.
"But you know what? That nothing means nothing. Not tonight. Let's do something tonight, okay? Let's see how fun you can be. I'll help, of course. I wouldn't let you do anything that exiting without me around."
Casually playing with her hair again, he looked around at all the people here. What to do. What to do. So many fun possibilities, and so little time to do anything.
His eyes swung over to the vampire band swaying with the lovely concerto they were playing, and then he knew what it would be.
"You aren't a afraid of knives, now are you Sunshine? No, you aren't. You're too big and brave for that. Well then, let's play a little game. There's a human girl here, I can smell her, and she needs a few friends. Let's keep her company, shall we?"
Without waiting for an answer, Coyle nudged Sunshine a little closer to where he had in mind. Near one of the food tables there stood two people: The girl, and a mean little Naki. He took a little peek at what the Naki wanted, and tried not to laugh.
"We have some competition though. I do love competitors!"
With that, he scooted very naturally up to where the two were, picking out any fish related food as he went.
"Nice party, isn't it?" He asked, once he'd gotten there.
* * * Le Cyll noted that Areon had some time to think before Nami rudely butted into their conversation. He also had some time to ask more questions if he wanted to.
He didn't. Interesting.
Nami shoved her away up to him, to which he felt was a very unladylike thing to do. Then again, it wasn't the first thing that she had done to annoy him so. Le Cyll put on a relatively lively expression, trying not to give Nami any impressions. He waited for Areon to answer, but when he didn't... Le Cyll's eyes narrowed thoughtfully. So, Areon did not tell his Nami everything, did he? Good. Le Cyll had been considerign the possibility that Areon would not be as confidential as he would have liked, but Areon showed surprising respect for serious information.
What a nice boy. Le Cyll jotted that down somewhere in his thoughts for later.
When Areon had so inconspicuously lied to Nami, she had come seeking his say in what happened. Well then. Wouldn't this be the best time to show her just how well he could pretend.
"Areon speaks the truth." He smiled, charmingly "It was just a little dinner conversation. But that's not important. What is, Nami, is my gratitude. Areon and I seem to be like old friends. I feel the need to thank you for introducing us. It was very kind of you to do so."
He gave Areon an appropriately friendly look, just for Nami's sake.
"You were right after all. I did end up liking him, just like you said."

Naide followed him, thinking maybe some punch would do her good. Too bad the objects of pretty boys interest were in the way of her and her punch. She'd get it later. She watched him slightly curious at this little game he had proposed. Naide wanted to know what he wanted so badly that these two could possibly have. A smirk was placed upon her features as she grabbed a black olive, one of her favorites. She stiffened slightly as she felt a presence behind her that was all too familiar to the Mafdet. She turned around a scowl upon her flawless features and her suspicions were confirmed.
"Never thought I'd see you here." ------------------------------------------------ Aleksei had noticed her instantly, but how could you not with that refreshing hair color ? He hadn't been surprised to see Naide there, he was just surprised to not see her throwing someone through a wall. A smirk crossed his features as he saw her look in envy at someone drinking a glass of punch.
What a cute little kitten she was.
Instantly using his superior flirting skills, he walked over to her with a glass of punch. She seemed to bristle at sensing him, and that only made his smirk widen. She was too easy to provoke.
"I shocked, Naide, you don't remember an old friend ?"
He couldn't help but purr slightly at the end of his sentence.
Of course he was using 'friend' mildly. They had been quite the item when they were together. He noticed everything in the current atmosphere. The way she blushed ever so slightly when he talked to her, the way she subconciously nudged towards him, he had never failed to notice Naide, and he wasn't about to start now. --------------------------------------- Nai looked down at his date with his violet eyes, sincerely hoping she didn't wish to dance. He wasn't very fond of dancing. It crossed too many personal space barriers for him. He nodded briskly at her, hiding his ever-present paranoia.
"Hello Ailyth."
He hadn't actually thought of making up some sappy, pathetic speech that commented her eyes or something like that. She was pretty, yes, but it just wasn't him to compliment pettily.
"You look nice...."
It must be the end of the world...

Seeing Seth turn away from the table, Amy followed suit. It was probably for the best. Now that she couldn't see the food she wouldn't be swayed by temptations. But then again, she could still smell it... Well, she couldn't be swayed by most of the temptations, at least.
Hearing Seth's words, she couldn't help but agree. It wasn't the most exciting party. Maybe because it wasn't exactly a party. Amy always enjoyed going to parties, but this was far too formal to be called one. By her standards, at least.
Balls were fun in their own way. Getting to dress up real nicely and critiquing other's looks. Having a nice, romantic night with your boyfriend... Usually. But there was only so much you could do.
"It is kinda boring," She agreed, nodding, "But I'm still having a good time!"
Strangely she was having fun. Just standing around, eating expensive foods was fun for her. She must just be weird.

Seth only nodded, staring straight in front of her at nothing in particular. Upon realizing that this could be thought of as strange to some, she immediately turned her attention elsewhere, swiping some sort of drink off of one of the tables. She emptied it in a second, again forgetting to pay attention to what it tasted like.
But on to other matters.
How moronically complacent humans could be. What enjoyment they received from standing amidst a sea of people was beyond her. Obviously, they must have a reason behind it, but it was undoubtedly stupid and meaningless like everything else that went through a human mind.
This human wasn't moving right now. Seth knew that for sure. If she wanted to get her away from everyone else, she'd need to be more persuasive. However, that would require her to put in more of an effort. Something which she did not care to give in this instance. The human was more trouble than she was worth.
Vaguely, she noticed someone else join the table, but she didn't bother to acknowledge them. Instead, she walked around the table, scanning the many appetizers, though declining to pick up any.
***
Finally managing to balance herself, Ailyth began to test out how well she could walk on the floor. She had backed up several steps before taking several steps forward. And the verdict: she should have bought flats. Maybe she shouldn't try to move for the rest of the night? Yeah, that wasn't gonna happen. Well, there must be some sort of secret. Other girls can do it somehow. A thought of simply clinging to Nai crossed her mind as she smiled up at him.
"Thanks!" She giggled at his compliment, "You don't look half bad yourself!"
Managing to take a step forward without falling, she grabbed his arm again. He seemed kinda out of place here. Well, he wasn't used to stuff like this, being all anti-social and stuff. But it was a party! He needed to force himself not to be so anti-social now! Or at least not to look it.
"C'mon, loosen up! You're supposed to have fun!"
Still smiling, she looked past him to all the people prancing and spinning in the middle of the floor when a thought struck her.
"Hey, can you dance?"

Coyle plucked a treat from the side of the table, not caring what it really was. Humans... and he thought these strange creatures were useless. Humans were so deaf that they couldn't even hear him when he spoke. Who would be so stupid as not to hear him? It was a real joke!
Looking over at the orchestra, he sighed, thinking about his plan. Yeees this would heat the party up nicely. He popped another of the strange food things in his mouth - they tasted like peanut butter or something - and swiped a knife from the cutlery tray.
"Hey, aren't you Amy?" He asked, making his voice unusually loud and obnoxious. Damned humans... He'd teach this insolent girl not to ignore him...
The knife shone silvery as he clutched it behind his back. It was a good thing humans were blind as they were deaf, or else he'd actually have to worry about his whole plan.
"Because someone form over there said something, and I wanted to see if it was true."
He pointed with his hand, realizing after a second that it was the hand holding the knife. His eyes widened, and quickly, he stuck the serrated edge into a plate of funny green goop, slicing out for himself a huge chunk.
"Ehehehe... I'm really hungry today..." He coughed, grabbing a plate and scraping the green stuff onto it. Oh crap... It sort of looked like dip. Now he needed crackers or something!
* * * Caroline sauntered in, happily, freely, in such a way that made ehr more happy and carefree than she had been in such a long time.
She had a date now, and the conquest of all things social awaited her! She was ready for anything, and with a seemingly harmless little tag along in tow, she was sure to have a great time.
