The sun shone brightly in the sky, it was about mid afternoon. This was his first day here, he actually just got here. Sighing the skinny, tall, male walked slowly into the courtyard. His amber eyes were focused on the slip of paper that Konda had given him. His eyes were only slightly red at the moment, he'd been calm all day so far, but he couldn't make out what Konda had written for him. All he could see was gibberish, though it was clearly written in plain English. Getting frustrated he crumpled up the paper and threw it on the ground. Almost immediately after he sat on the ground and began rocking, grabbing at his hair and pulling at it as he did. Tears started forming around his eyes as he began making small whimpering sounds. He wanted to read the directions Konda had given him! It wasn't fair that he couldn't.

Trailing behind the six foot tall male with short dark brown hair was his faithful companion. She was all white with deep brown eyes. The only color she held was from her black leather collar that had a circle cut amethyst on it. She was watching him handle the paper, she could tell something wasn't right by the way he was holding it. 'Oh dear, not again.' she thought as he crumpled up the paper. She, being the dog that she is, went over and picked the paper up in her mouth. She wagged her tail slightly, but by the time she turned around she could already see him rocking on the grassy floor. As he began making whimpering sounds she replied with the same noise and rushed over to him, nudging his arm and placing the paper ball by his feet. 'Just try it again Rei, there's no need to be upset.' She hated how she could only think her thoughts, she had made a promise not to let him know what she really was and thus she couldn't talk to him. Whimpering more she licked his face, nudging him some more and sat down; her eyes focusing on the paper. This was how she had to talk to him, by actions and emotions alone. Sometimes it was hard and she just wanted to scream at the kid, but she loved him and had to keep her promise.

Feeling the soft fur of his dog, Kimmie, he calmed down a bit and hugged her. After feeling her tongue against his cheek he pulled away and wiped his eyes. She had sat down and was now staring at the paper, it looked like she was giving it a death stare. Frowning he picked up the paper ball and un-crumpled it. He still couldn't understand what it said, but he felt as though he should at least try and figure out what it said. "Net, go.. froown?" He tried to read the first sentence but couldn't figure it out. Tensing up he went to throw the ball again but stopped and looked at his the white Maremma Sheepdog and spoke softly to her. "I just can't do it girl.. I'm sorry" Putting his head between his legs he covered his face up with his arms. You could hear him sobbing underneath his hoody. He dropped the paper to the ground, a soft breeze carried it out from under him so it now lay in front of him.
