Renard saw the sign and a tiny frown pulled at his lips. He wasn't telling the truth. One glance in the other's eyes convinced him of that. But some tiny voice not belonging to himself or Draner screamed from a little alcove in his mind, that he was thinking the same thing that he was. That was why he was sad. That was why Renard had been sad. They were both sad for the same reason, but neither understood that that was the reason behind both their sadnesses. If they did, they wouldn't be sad anymore.
Swallowing gently, he let himself fall under that tiny voice's spell. he understood and it made sense. Ciardha's emotions seemed to mirror his own, but his brand of fear went above and beyond the tame fright of rejection. It was as though he feared for a life--not his own life, but the life of someone else. Of everyone else, in fact.
Pushing aside his reason, he scooted closer to the albino and reached out to him, touching his arm lightly. He didn't say anything, nor did he sign anything, but he hoped that the other would still understand. He couldn'y form his thoughts and feelings into signs or words, so he had to display them for the other and hoped that he still got it.
The young Kitsune's face read one of understanding and kindness, and even some sort of affection that went beyond those above. Once his silent message had been given, Renard relaxed himself and waited for something--anything--to happen.

He was surprised by his touch, the expression that held such mutuality in affection and parred with such a understanding expression... It was so foreign but truly something Ciardha has always longed for...
...Someone who would understand him, what he was going through. All doubts, the thought that he was over thinking it fled before it could cause any harm, he clung to that lone theory, staring mesmerized into Renard's eyes... Such a pretty shade of azure blue, they had a certain charm of their own to them.
Time seemed to slow as he without thought came to do the most incredibly dumb, stupid, brave, riskiest thing he had ever done i all of his life, of which most time was spent lying low like the little snake he was. Instead something so very bold for someone with such little self-esteem and a self-destructive, self-loathing problem went out to do...
Moving closer to Renard, he in merely one swift motion pulled him into a more then 'friendly' embrace... Tilting up Renard's chin he moved in his lips softly, hesitantly brushing against the others before he pressed against his.
Ciardha had not truly realised what he was doing till he was already doing it, it just happened on impulse. He was just as shocked as Renard more than likely was... He was ready for anything; rejection was what he was completely prepared for.
He felt like an utter bastard for doing it, truly, he was but that besides the point, he couldn't help but admit... He was enjoying it. Last time he acted without thinking. All he could do was hope, hope for the best. With luck the damage wasn't that bad and things wouldn't be too awkward... Who was he kidding, his pessimistic mindset very well knew where this was going.
...But he really wanted to hold onto that tiny glimmer of hope.

Renard sat there stationary, waiting for the moment when he did something that could clarify or disprove something in his mind. Was Ciardha like him, or was it merely his phony glimmers of hope he was clinging to, the glimmers that wasn't gold or diamonds--but Fools Gold and Cubic Zerconium? Silence pressed against his body, and he felt like the air had suddenly become thick like soup or even worse, like he was a butterfly on display for the entire world to marvel at. He wanted his friend to do something. Call him a fag. Just... something.
But what actually happed wasn't that. It was something so much better.
The taller male enfolded him in his arms and pulled him into an embrace, one that was much more than friendly. It felt like how he imagined lovers hugging would. Lovers. A bright and burning blush warmed his face and tinted his pale skin and ears and even his neck, almost a full-body blush.
As they stood like this, Renard wrapped his arms around the other, swallowing slightly. He was thin. With another shy gulp, he tried to convey his feelings when his head was merely against the other's chest.
Almost of his own will, the young kitsune tilted his head up and felt something soft against his lips. Another pair of the same, feather soft, testing. The male with hair of strung silver didn't back away or flinch. He passed the test and the kiss became serious. He didn't run, or try to free himself. Renard stood and kissed the other getting a minor case of the tingles.
When they pulled apart, Renard looked up at Dunn meekly, his clear blue eyes like a sea peeking between streaks of silver eyelash. He was still blushing, the color making him almost like a tomato with his pale skin.

He blushed a severe scarlet red that was probably not even possibly for albino to achieve. His yellow eyes scanned the floor as he tried to figure out what to sign but returned back to Renard's at last. Ciardha wanted to do it again, kiss him again, longer, more lustfully. He blushed at these oncoming thoughts that nearly seduced his mind into taking immediate action...
He could have stood there forever in this passionate embrace; this warm feeling that overcame him, filling his stomach with butterflies. Ciardha had never really been in love; but if this is what it felt like... he could get used to this. Though the risk, though how terribly this would put Renard in danger... he allowed himself for the first time, this little bit of happiness.
A smirk-ish smile spread across Ciardha's splotched red, pale features. He never expect this kind of response. Rejection would have been fine, nothing new. He would get over it. But this... This was something different. Something most entirely splendid that he could not in the least lessen how perfect this was. No matter how very pessimistic he was. And he did not know how to react... nor did he mind. He just stared into the others eyes, they were so deep... like endless pools but what he loved the most was how they reflected such mutual feelings.

They'd kissed. Suddenly a wave of paranoia washed over him and he looked all around as if to make sure that no one had encroached upon their moment and took away the secret and speciality of the act. It wasn't much, not as though if someone had seen that he would change the way he felt, but he didn't want someone to have seen. It was hard enough being that way alone. He didn't need people attacking him with increasing malice because he'd found love at long last in these lonely halls.
Renard didn't know the danger poised by Ciardha. He couldn't smell his species. In fact, that was the odd part. To his tamed and strong nose, Ciardha just smelled like a human. A harmless human being, which is why he didn't make any reference to what his species was. He wanted to make sure he didn't blow the cover of his world to a human.
The reason he couldn't smell his danger... was probably because he didn't want to smell it, so his brain blotched it out. And even if he did know, he wouldn't have done anything differently. It wasn't within his power to change anything like that. His mind and heart were both set on Ciardha, and once that had happened no one else would do. Sure it would be somewhat challenging because he couldn't talk, but that was something they could easily work around.
They stood there in their warm and passionate embrace. simply looking into each other's eyes. When Ciardha looked into Renards azure orbs he thought of clear pools and emotional abysses. When Renard looking into Ciardha's eyes, Renard saw a rich vein of liquid gold which flowed more visciously than water, with mysteries and secrets was the river of riches made thick.
A shy smile came to the young French boy's lips as he leaned lightly against the mute boy's chest. He felt comforting and solid, real and warm. So many things that he couldn't even begin to explain.

Behind his happy thoughts still brewed the general realistic, critical, cynical view Ciardha was cursed with. Things were not going to stay this good and Renard was not even aware of what dangers lie beneath his skin. He didn't want to tell him, he didn't want to ruin this one thing. It wasn't so selfish to want one sliver of happiness, something wonderful in his dark, morbid little world.
He wanted to tell Renard what he was, to at least warn him... but he feared that would drive him away. It was not something people could just accept. He was a Pihuechenyi; a long, winged, monstrous flying snake that drinks the blood on humans in order to survive. Much less appealing then a vampire, a hellish demon serpent. He endangered everyone.
Being that even now he could not control that hunger for blood. Especially the fresh blood of a new wound, the sight of it would set him off on contact. Cowardly sneaking in on others in their sleep to get his fill. He was horrid, a disgrace to all magical creatures.
As the other leaned against his chest he truly didn't want to tell him, he simply couldn't. He wouldn't ruin it, even with how this dishonesty would cost him one day, he wanted to savor what he had already received. Cherish what he has while he can... You never know when it will be gone.
Ciardha wanted to sign something to Renard but it wasn't worth breaking the embrace... he would wait till Renard was ready for that. It a way, hoping that time wouldn't come soon.
