(OOC: Yes, I've got Alice in Wonderland on my mind right now ^^
The Chimera Academy garden was truly a sight to behold. It was nearly impossible to count all the species of flowers beautifully arranged on the large plot of land, much less name them. There were kinds from all over the world, gifted to the academy over the years. There were also types that certainly weren't grown anywhere else. The botany club must have slipped something into that soil to allow such strange plants to grow.
Almost as impressive as the variety was how well they were taken care of. All the plants stood as tall and proudly as they were able to, and there didn't seem to be a petal out of place. As if held up by an invisible string, all the flowers remained neatly set in a row. Almost all of the flowers, anyway.
Amidst the rows of sunflowers near the edge of the garden, there was one that stood slightly shorter than the others and drooped ever so slightly. It almost seemed sad, if it were possible for a flower to be sad. though no one noticed the poor sunflower's plight, of course. No one except for one girl.
Ailyth laid sprawled out across the grass, her head resting upon her arms which were crossed in front of her. She had been watching the flower for the better part of an hour and was still trying to inspire the poor thing to grow.
"C'mon... You can't give up so easily!" She said to it, "You can grow tall too, I know you can!"
Reaching out a hand, she lifted its petals slightly, as if trying to show it how simple growing was. Looking to either side of the flower, she saw how the others towered over it, as if they were mocking the smaller one. She frowned at the others and seemed to be debating if she should reprimand them for teasing the small flower. Deciding against it, she went back to her words of encouragement.
"Ya know... I bet if you really tried, you could grow even taller than those jerks!"
The wind then caused the flower to move slightly, making it seem like it was nodding. Glad that her words were finally starting to get to the flower, she looked away to inspect the rest of her surroundings.
Surprisingly, it was empty, save for the other plants. Though only a short while ago she remembered seeing other students here. They had walked by her and stared at her curiously as she was inspiring the sunflower. Apparently they had since left. Strange that they should leave so soon... Everyone always seemed to be in a hurry to get somewhere. It would have been nice to have someone else speak to the flower too, though Ailyth had gotten used to doing stuff like this alone by now.[/color]
