Ramier looked up at the sky, his head bent at an odd angle and the huge, thick curls that usually blotted out his eyes slung back as he glared upward. It was raining. He'd heard about rain, but he didn't really ever get to see it.
Why did it rain...? He could calculate the wind temperature and gust force necessary to create an accumulative cloud of precipitation, then guestimate how much the temperature would have to drop for the water to liquefy and fall to make rain... but then again, it didn't explain it all that well, did it?
Why did water fall from the sky? What purpose did it have? Was it to make everyone happy, or sad? It kinda looked like the sky was crying right now, and that made Ramier a little unhappy himself.
However, the wonder of rain did not escape him, so instead of being too sad he just looked up. He was standing in the middle of a really big field. The grass was usually green, but right now it was a gray color, like it was sick. It didn't have any sunlight to make it look nice and green, and neither did the trees or sky.
Everything was sad when it rained, but then again, it was sunny up above the rain. It was still happy up there, somewhere. Just not down here.
That thought comforted the little child as he sat there, staring up at the sky.

Ryame felt like crap as he walked over to a tree in the meadows. Ryame sat down on the ground under a tree even though it caused him pain to move. Ryame had scratches all over his face including across his eye lids. Ryame sat there under the tree looking at the sky. Ryame was in so much pain physically and emotionally. Ryame started to cry as the rain hit his face remembering his mother and that she died what his dad says all because of him. His dad hated him even though he was part of his mom. Ryame's dad hit him because he looked like his mom for the most part. His dad instead of loving him more because the mom is gone and he is all he has left of her decides to hit Ryame and blame him for his mom's death. Ryame now thinks that maybe it was his fault that his mom died because if he thinks about it she didn't have that great of luck with colds ether and when he got sick she was always there trying to help make him feel better but Ryame thought that was what moms were there for to make you feel better and to help you when you don't feel good and give you someone to talk to when everybody makes fun of you because you have a darker than normal hair color. Ryame now started to blame himself from ever being around her even when he was a baby and he was hungry. Ryame would of rather starved then to have his mom die, slip out of his grip and not being able to do anything. Ryame felt crushed that he might actually be why his mom died so he started to bawl his eyes out. Ryame loved her so much he would die for here over and over again for eternity just for her to be alive but the only person that loved and listened to him which was his mom was no longer alive.

As Ramier watched the sky cry its tears, he heard someone else crying too. Why was that, he wondered? Why was someone crying?
It was odd, the way he felt. He was sympathetic, and empathetic, but he wasn't hurt by this sound in an emotional way.
It was the first time Ramier had ever come across an openly hurting person, and it was odd to feel how he felt. He was calm. Calm but sad. For some reason, he knew this was not how Mommy would feel. Moss would be empathetic, but then again he would feel what that person was feeling too. He would echo their sorrow, whereas Ramier had... a place for that to go. A channel for that feeling to run into and a lake of it to fill up. And then he would wall that feeling up away from him but go to see it, to feel it. He embraced this feeling, even though it was sad. He felt like he should go help.
Looking down now, the small child saw a tree off in the distance. He went up to it, toddling along slowly but surely. When he got underneath the branches' protection, his shirt was badly wet and his hair was plastered to his head and face. He wiped the curly locks away, frowning at the person he saw there.
"Why are you crying?" Ramier asked, calmly, with that low, monotone voice that his adorable face just couldn't seem to match up with.
He could see the sadness ebbing from the creature's essence.

Ryame hid hid face in his hands and started to rub his eyes. Ryame then replied to Ramier "Nothing....I'm fine." Ryame didn't want anybody to know what was bothering him the only person he told anything to was his mom and that was it. As Ryame thought to himself that he didn't want to bother anyone and that he only told his mom things he started to cry again but this time in his hands. Ryame tried to pull himself together but couldn't his heart was just in too much pain.

Ramier nodded. He didn't need to hear anyone talk before he could tell what was wrong. He knew. Daddy's side of the family did that for him, although it wasn't always cool. Sometimes it hurts on the inside, and then it makes Ramier even sadder.
The small, adorable child simply sat down next to the creature. He didn't try to help, or fix anything in any way. He just slid his cold wet back against the rough bark and stared at the sky through the branches.
"I'm sorry," the little voice said. "Don't be sad."

Ryame looked at the Ramier with his watering eyes and red face. Ryame then said "Why are you sorry? You didn't do anything." After that he said " I cant help that I am sad. I just have a bad memory in my mind right now it will go away within a few years." Ryame was still bawling his eyes out from the pain of losing his mother.

Hmmm. That was interesting. Why was Ramier sorry? Well, not for any specific reason... That is just what you felt for people when they were sad. Maybe he was sorry for him because he knew what it was like? To be sad. Ramier had been sad before, and he knew that deep, dark, scary feeling. He also had known the pain of losing a parent - not through death, but through blatant neglect.
Ramier's daddy had left him and didn't want him. Mommy was sweet, but Moss never really knew what to do with Ramier. He wasn't around a lot. He tried, but he was always busy somewhere. It made Ramier sad sometimes, which is why he was always wandering.
He just wanted to find someone to talk to, so he wasn't as lonely...
Ramier sniffled a little, but instead of bawling like the creature, he simply rubbed his eyes and sighed.
"Why do you want it to go away? It's the last memory you have of her, even if it's bad..."
Ramier had very little recollection of his father. He did remember something - it was before he was born, and things were very confusing. He knew Coyle's voice but he didn't know what he really looked like. He had seen that from Moss' eyes, not his own. Now, it seemed like Coyle was avoiding him.
He just wanted to talk. Even if it was a bad conversation. Even if Coyle still didn't want him. He just wanted to meet his father.

Ryame looked at Ramier and said "Why would I want to think of when she died when I can remember her when she held me in her arms when I was a baby." Ryame would rather just remember the good times about his mom then the sad time when she was laying in bed very sick and dying while telling him to be a good boy when she was gone and find himself a nice girl and give her a grandchild even if she was gone.

"No," Ramier said, after a moment. He was smiling now, just a bit. He was remembering when he was born and all the pain that it had caused his mommy... but then there was joy. Lots of it. Ramier had felt it from Mommy, and it was the most joy that Mommy had ever felt fr anything.
"You don't remember the dying. You remember her... How she was you mommy even at the end. She still loved you, even when she was going to leave."
Ramier looked at the ground. There was a patch of longer grass growing underneath the tree, and he plucked at the strands playfully, taking a couple in his hands then folding them up one at a time on top of one another.
They were all soft and covered in dewdrops.
"My Mommy never wanted to have me, but then Moss did, and we were happy... I don't remember the pain Moss went through. Just the happiness."
Ramier held up his grass contraption to the creature after a moment. He had woven them into an intricate butterfly pattern, with little antennae and beautiful patterned wings.

Ryame didn't think Ramier was saying to just remember his mom and ho she loved him till the end. He thought he was saying you should remember her death and how much pain she has been through for you. Now that Ramier made himself more clear Ryame started to cheer up. Ryame saw the butterfly that Ramier had made and held it in his hands it reminded him of something beautiful that his mom would put in her hair like the butterfly pin she had in her hair that held back her bangs. It was a yellow sparkly butterfly that shined in the sunlight. Ryame placed the butterfly on his lap and then plucked a few pieces of grass himself to make something out of them. After Ryame was done he had made a woven necklace that had a pendent woven like a tiger's fang. Ryame then held up the tiger fang necklace to Ramier.

Ramier took the necklace wordlessly, smiling. He didn't seem so hurt anymore... At least there was that. Ramier felt better. He felt more complete. He always did when someone was happy. It was nice to see them cheer up, and that funny glow around them lighten slightly.
The glow always had darkness... it was nice to see the darkness fade for a change. So may people's grew, even in the short span of time he'd seen them. They were all drowning in something, and it was a little scary.
Ramier held out his hand - the one without the necklace - and spoke softly in his low, sweet voice.
"My name's Ramier. What's yours?"

Ryame smiled as Ramier took the necklace from his hand. Ryame loved the butterfly that Ramier made. When Ramier held out his hand and said my name is Ramier, Ryame smiled again. Ramier was the first person he met at the school so far. Ryame couldn't believe that Ramier might be his first friend at this school. Ryame shake Ramier's hand and said "Nice to meet you Ramier, my name is Ryame." Ryame was still smiling because he was focused more on what was happening now then what had happened to his mother.
