Vincent was walking through the courtyard with a large pack on his back, he had just got done unpacking his room and decided he wanted to try and make some new friends maybe even get in some trouble. As he made his way though the court yard his stomach began to growl quite loudly, hearing this Vincent stopped and pulled from his pack a small stove, a pot, and everything he needed to make ramen. As he sat there making his ramon he began to look around the yard and tried to make some new friends, though most people would just walk past him and give him crazy looks for cooking in the middle of the courtyard. As he was waiting for his ramen to cook he say a tree across the yard that looks to have apples in it, seeing this ran across the yard climbing the tree and picking as many as he could hold in is sleeve which he was using like a apron to carry them. Vincent then made his way back to where his ramen was cooking.

Shoutoku looked up from the book he was reading. Classes had just ended and students were now streaming in and out. Some late-comers were coming from the dorms and some over the walls. They really weren't supposed to do that. Scowling to himself, he looked back at his book. What a bother. People... They were so annoying. They always tended to bring with them a wagon full of problems and drama and were always looking for someone to help them. That was what Kendryek did, not Shoutoku. Although they had lived together for a while, he had never stayed around to help his relative with his mentoring.
It was natural for him to avoid people.
He had probably been known as the creepy, unsocial guy who lived at Kendryek's place. Did he have a problem with that? No. Not one bit. As long as people left him alone he would be fine. If they didn't... he hoped for their sake that they didn't get too close.

Vincent place some of the finished ramen into his bowl he then began to walk across the yard looking around as he ate, as he was walking he noticed a man reading a book so he decided to walk over and try to talk to the person. As he made his way to the man young man he thought to him self how it was probable rude to interrupt the man reading, but he wanted something to do and figured he might just make a new friend. He stopped right in front of the man with the book then with a slurp he ate a huge bite of noodles, once his mouth was not full he smiled at the man "hi there i am Vincent D. Barnett, i just came to this school". After he finished speaking he looked at the man with a large smile on his face, "would you like to be my friend" he asked the young man. Vincent then looked down at the mans book, "so what you reading" still smiling he asked the man hoping he was bothering the man to much.

Shoutoku could feel his irritation spike as the man walked over. Why? Why? People... people... so many people, and one had to walk right up to him... and even worse, the thing spoke to him! He could feel his muscles hardening, ready to bolt at any second, his natural instinct as a hawk slowly beginning to take over his mind.
"Yes... I know..." he said in response to Vincent introducing himself. He knew that wasn't the best response in the world, but he really did know. He knew all of the faces here at the school. No one could escape his radar. No one.
The comment about being a friend didn't even call for a dignified response. Shoutoku was already in a bad mood because of all the noise so Vincent talking to him was only making him more annoyed. That always ended with Shoutoku saying practically nothing. When he asked about the book, the griffin turned the volume over on its side to see the writing scrawled across it. "On The Paths Shrouded in Darkness..." he read the title out loud. He smirked to himself as he realized that was probably the most consecutive words Vincent would get out of him.
