"That's not what I meant." Erzbet said with a small smile. It was a sad smile, one she used a lot. "I mean...it must be lonely keeping secrets from your friends and family." And such a big secret too. What would it be like to have a whole other side to your life that even the people closest to you had no idea about?

"Well my brother knows that I am in the Kodiac but he is in it too so that doesn't bother with his life at all because he was already in the Kodiac. And the true is, is me and him don't get along well...So......Yeah " Chase replied with a fake smile on his face.

Erzbet decided she wanted a sibling. Someone she didn't have to be so awkward around. Of course, wanting one and getting one were very different things. As it looked now, she was stuck as an only child forever. "Why?" Sibling rivalry was yet another mystery to add to the list. It was getting confusing trying to keep track of all of them.

Chase replied "We don't get along because he is a jerk. He let a assasin that killed our parents take me away and torture me by making me work almst the whole day everyday for seven years. He just left me there and he was able to leave. Thats why we aren't getting along because he just abandoned me at the age of three."

Erzbet couldn't think of anything to say in reply. How did you reply to a story like that? She opened and closed her mouth several times. In the end, the only thing she could come up with was "I suppose being an only child isn't as lonely as I thought." Not exactly the best thing. She thought for a little while longer. "Are you always this open with your life story?" Weren't you supposed to know a bit about a person before you talked about this kind of stuff? Granted, her life wasn't as bad, but she had no intention of talking about her father's death, or rather, murder.

Chase replied " I want to know what its like to be an only child but I have two brothers, two step brothers, three sisters , and one step sister................Well I am telling you this because you look like the person that would say much about a person. So I want to tell you so maybe if you still don't think i am a blood thirsty killer like my branding says I am, Maybe we could be friends..... Well I mean I am not going to make you be my friend or make you talk I am okay if you just listen that is fine to me."

A friend? She hadn't thought of befriending anyone. Her mother sent her to school to learn to coexist with humans without murder. She'd never said anything about making friends. Well I mean I am not going to make you be my friend or make you talk I am okay if you just listen that is fine to me." Make her talk? "If you were going to make me talk..." She began hesitantly. "...what would you want to hear?" She'd managed the art of the hypothetical statement after several weeks of confusion. Sarcasm, fortunately, didn't take as long to master. There was only one thing she didn't really want to talk about. The rest...well, it wasn't a big secret. And, again, Erzbet considered herself open, as long as someone was there asking the questions.

Chase replied "well maybe like where are you from? or what do you want to do when you get out of school? And just things like that. Nothing stockier like or anything I mean I'm the same age as you. I'm not like some creepy old 50 year old man trying to get you to like me. Seriously I promise." Chase felt like he was rambling and that never really ended well so he just shut his mouth before anything else would come out and maybe disturb her.

Erzbet thought for a few moments before speaking. "I was born somewhere in South America. I never paid attention to geography. I remember I was near Argentina when my mother decided to send me here." She wasn't about to dive into the reason of her mother's decision. "After school? She knew other kids had serious plans for themselves when they left the school. She was just trying to keep control of herself. "I want to go back to my jungle and never wear a human skin again." She let out a shaky laugh. She really did hate the human skin she wore. She was told it was beautiful to humans, but she felt weak and exposed. Plus, she never looked completely human. Her nails, teeth, eyes, way of moving, all showed she was something other, even to humans who didn't know what she was.

Chase laughed a bit when she said her last answer. Then Chase replied " I think a lot of the creatures here don't want to wear their skin but some are more comfortable in their skin so.... that is completely fine apparently you don't like your skin that much. Do you?" Chase felt a little bit better now that they were talking about each other again instead of him rambling and probably sounding like a creepy stockier murderer.

Erzbet shook her head. "No. I don't have fur, I can't run nearly as fast as I want to, and my teeth are far too weak." She glanced down at her hands. "Nails too." She looked at him with a question in her eyes. But rather than make him read it in her eyes, she said it out loud. "How do you like your skin?" She wondered what he looked like without the human skin. Was he a feline, like her? Or something she'd never heard of.

Chase smiled a little bit he knew not a lot of people liked their skin. Chase then answered "I like my skin. I mean it is better then my true form. In my true form I am weak so I do better with my skin then without it." Chase knew he probably sounded silly but it was true he liked his skin better.

Erzbet wondered what he was in his real form. What kind of creature was weaker than a human? If it weren't for their intelligence and their little tools, they would be extinct by now. "What are you, then?" She asked bluntly. She knew such questions were probably seen as rude, and she never liked to use her ignorance as an excuse, but she could make an exception. She couldn't ignore the curiosity anymore.

Chase was quiet for a moment and then replied "I am in the cat family." Chase didn't want to say he was a house cat because how stupid would he sound if he said yeah i am a killer but i am also a house cat.

He was avoiding the question. But she wasn't going to push it. "Me too." She said. Though a panther was on the more... vicious end of the cat family. She wondered what he was. Cheetah? Bobcat? The possibilities were endless. She looked at him. Now that she thought about it, he did have a sort of feline grace. The same grace her father had. The thought of her father was almost enough to bring tears to her eyes. Almost.
