She heard Neron laugh and felt herself bristle for a second, and then become relaxed quite quickly. It was good to hear him laugh. It made her relax more than she had ever thought possible. That is the floating part of your feelings talking to you right there, my girl. Be careful lest you fall. she thought to herself. She almost felt sad when he stopped. Then she listened and let a smirk grow on her face. “Don’t give yourself so much credit. You didn’t wipe the smile from my face. I did.” His smile had been dazzling...So beautiful that she wished she could see it again. That was the first time that she could remember actually cherishing a smile. Then she pushed it forcefully from her mind. She was not going to fall for that. Her thoughts were making it worse. She was not going to be attracted to Neron any longer. She was pushing that from her mind. “Not only and I a murderer I am a thief.” She stared at the ground again, her face becoming grim, and her voice became level and dry again.
Jaedon sighed and felt like she was fixing to go insane. She was so confused that it was driving her nuts. Why was Neron being so nice to her? He was never like this. He was smiling, laughing, and trying to get her to heal her wounds. Before he would have just called Miriel and left her alone. Something was different in his manner. It was confusing her so much that she felt like banging her head against the wall till it bled. She couldn’t meet his eyes again, knowing that her confusion and anger, and thoughts would all be conveyed in them. She averted them to the ground as he came closer. She spoke in monotone again, “Let it bleed for all I care. It matters not to me.” She then could feel the heat from his flame. What warmth it brought to her cold skin. She wished that she had a blanket and was sitting in a warm chair by the fire. Yes, that would be a peaceful place to die. She wanted to die next to fire, in a comfy chair, covered with a blanket and a book in hand. That was when she was happy now days... That was when she liked life. A slight smile flickered across her face as she thought of this. May I? He asked. She sighed as her thoughts of a room with a fire and a book faded. “Do what you will, for I cannot stop you.” This was true. She had no more strength left...She had nothing left. Let Neron do as he willed, she wouldn’t hardly think to licks about it.

“Hmmm, well that will help my ego a bit. Thanks for smashing it down to the right size Jaedon.” His voice was playful. When she mentioned being a murderer and a thief he frowned, so that was what this was all about. “Yes, yes you are.” His eyes grew dark. “And so am I in many ways. I am a thief who took innocent lives, and a murderer of many. But I remember you saying long ago to put away the past and look at the unblemished future. Just because the tracks behind you are spotted with blood doesn’t mean that the steps you are going to take have to be. ” He let out a sound of scoffing, “A lot harder than it sounds.”
He grew silent for a moment as she talked, but it almost seemed like it he wasn’t listening to her. When she had finished he seemed to continue his thoughts under his breath. “Which is why we should start with the outer wound first.” The familiar smirk came back to his face, “Oh...I thought you might want to know...This may sting a little..” With that said he placed his fingers on the wound, allowing the flame to do it’s work quickly and effectively. It wasn’t long before he removed his hand and stood up. “Good as new.” He smirked. “Now you can go frolic in fields to your hearts content.”

“You’re welcome.” Came the short reply, but then she couldn’t help but add. “I have been waiting to do that for weeks.” She smiled slightly as the wind sent a slight gust their way, blowing her curls back slightly, allowing the moonlight to shine on her green eyes. “Wow...I am really full of manipulative crap aren’t I?” She shook her head after she heard Neron sum up the words that she had said to him before. She then looked at him with an indescribable expression, but it was closer to amusement then anything. “Please don’t tell me that you actually bought into that.”
She heard his warning and laughed bitterly. “Screw the pain. I have been running on it, do you really think that burning it is going to be any worse?” she was being serious. She had stopped paying attention to how much it hurt a long time ago. When the flame started to lick at her skin Jaedon did feel a stinging sensation, but she craved the warmth so much more that she forgot about the hurt and soaked up the warmth. A shiver went through the rest of her, showing that it longed for warmth as well. When he removed his hand, she could still slightly feel the warmth, but when it vanished completely another shiver ran up her spine. She had become cold once she figured out how warm she could be.
“I’ll be doing no frolicking in the near future I assure you.” she spoke harshly now. Why was he so jolly? It was making her ill tempered and she didn’t figure out why until she thought about how he was starting to look good again. She had always noticed that Neron had a rather dark sort of look that was slightly attractive, and now it seemed that he was recovering from his previous illness. It was restoring him, even though it was slight, it was slowly becoming better and better. She was angry that she was actually noticing it. Maybe it was also what was making his mood so merry. She didn’t like it...or maybe she was just jealous of it...she didn’t know and she didn’t care.

“And what if I did.” Neron smirked at Jaedon. “But don’t worry I didn’t, well not right away. He shook his head slightly. “You sure know how to get inside peoples heads.” He ran his fingers through his hair. When she mentioned running on her leg Neron shook his head, “And I thought you were smart...well I guess I don’t have to continue thinking that anymore. What are you trying to do? Cut off your leg?” His head shook again. “Foolish girl.”
Neron let the fire flicker and dance on his fingertips for a couple moments before they faded into nonexistence. It felt good to have fire upon your skin, well if your skin was resistant to it. Because Neron was in his human form and the fire was his own, his skin was immune to it. But if he stayed in his human form and touched something that was burning that he himself was not sustaining, he would have the unpleasing sensation of being burned. “Well that is a shame, you should go frolicking sometime.” He smirked at her. “I’m sure you would be good at it.” Then shrugging his shoulders he frowned. “Though I suppose you could continue being a sour puss and just hobble around. I’m sure that would make you feel great.” He stood there for a moment, his face lifted toward the moon. It’s light bathed his face in pure white light. “Oh...” His eyes narrowed at the moon. “Thanks for doing that thing you did with Miriel earlier...” The tips of his mouth turned upward a bit. “You should have seen Damion...”

“Getting inside people’s heads is my job.” She said with a look of slight amusement. “It’s getting out that is the hard part.” She listened to him and then laughed again. “I had no particular goal in leaving it alone. There were too many other things that kept me from focusing on it.” She had stopped laughing but continued to look at him with a smile on her face. “Foolish is a point of view you know. It is an absolute truth that is twisted by point of view. Whatever you think or want, you will do, there is nothing to stop it you know.” she looked at him with shining eyes.
She scoffed at him. “Oh please Neron. I have never been one to go with how I feel unless that feeling is of general rage. I am sure that I will continue to be sour and I will be very fine with it. Who cares what everyone else thinks...?” she paused for a moment and then said flatly, “I don’t.” She turned away when he spoke of Miriel. It brought reality crashing back down on her. “Yeah sure.” she said solemnly. She grew very distant and then, without mentioning a single thing to him jumped up and started to walk out of the garden.

Neron nodded to her. “I’m sure it is...” When she mentioned foolish he glanced and looked at her. “Well then I guess that is the only point of view I have.” His eyes narrowed. “Don’t comment on that.” He turned from her for a moment. “But there is a way to stop, You may think, oh I’m going to steal that piece of candy, but that doesn’t mean you will. You may buy it or you may turn from it and walk on. Some even swipe it only to return the candy later.”
When she mentioned only going with the feeling of rage Neron turned from the moonlight and stared at her with a mischievous smirk. “Oh, I wouldn’t think that...As for being sour, if you keep it up you’ll turn into a giant, fluffy, walking pickle. Not a pretty sight might I add. Then you would be part of carnivals and circus known as the pickle lady.” His face didn’t betray the laughter within. “Something that is not advisable. Would you be fine with that?”
When she turned to walk out of the garden Neron watched her for a second. He was indecisive. Should he call out to her or let her have her own space. Looking down at his arm, that still throbbed from Miriel’s bite. Her inspected his wrapped fingers. Those fingers curled into balls but then relaxed. “Jaedon...” He called out to her. But he paused for a moment, face darkening. “Don’t trip or you won’t be able to get back up.” He smirked and turned suddenly, his figure disappearing into the shadows.
When he was far out of earshot, even for someone like Jaedon his fists turned into balls. Why had he done that. Why hadn’t he said one of the things he wanted to? “Jaedon, take care of yourself. Jaedon, I care about you be careful. Jaedon, I like you.[/b]” Why did he have to go and say some smart remark? His eyes raised to see one of the many statues that decorated the garden. It depicted a girl and boy holding hands, gazing into each others eyes. The glass vial, still in his grasp, was sent crashing against this statue, shattering into a million pieces. His gaze, which had been a blazing green, now turned into a docile jade. Running his bandaged hands through his hair he let out a sigh. “I’ll make up for it...I will.” Nearby statute there were pure white roses, growing proudly from the ground. Walking over he picked one. Spinning it in his fingers for a moment a shadow of a smile came to his face. “ Yes, I’ll make up for it.” He didn’t mind the pricks that the rose gave him, nor the blood that spotted his fingers. Turning he walked off to the dorms. It would be a night of writing. Hopefully he could organize his thoughts enough. So Neron faded into the night, his mind full of words.

When Neron called out to her, she wished with half of her heart that he had asked her to stop or come with her, and then the other half was glad that he didn’t. Being around him was becoming difficult for her and she couldn’t figure out why. Perhaps it was because he was trying to stop her from doing what she wanted to, or perhaps it was because she had feelings for him. She wished that he had stopped her, that would have made her feel a lot better, but he didn’t. She would be fine though. She knew that he didn’t care for her and that was simply confirmation. She would be fine, and she would fine. She finished walking away, sure that she would live for the rest of her life, but she didn’t know why. THE END [/b]
