Reynard strolled along the pathway that lead to the two iron gates. His mood matched the weather, dark and threatening. He did not want to go to the academy and he wanted revenge on the elders of his tribe who had banished him. And on what? Mere suspicions! They hadn't been able to prove anything. While it was true that he had done all the things they had accused him of, and more, it galled him that they thought they could send him off to some stupid school. He didn't need to learn most of what they taught. He already knew everything he would need about fighting and while he could work on his magic some he doubted he would learn any more here than he would be able to learn by himself.
He strode through the gates examining the buildings in which he would have to live for the next year or two. They stood out against the dark clouds. The stone walls somehow managed to convey a sense of more power than the sky itself. He could see several ordinary looking people wandering through the massive lawn. From the distance Reynard couldn't tell how many of them were special. More importantly he would need to learn how many could be manipulated and how many he would be able to gain as allies in the event that he decided to attempt a retaking of his pack. After all it was true that this was where all the powerful young ones congregated. Perhaps he could use that to his advantage.
For now though Reynard knew needed to try to fit himself in to the school. It wouldn't be easy coming in near the end of the year like he was but he would need to start making connections now if he wanted to have gained any connections by the summer. It might take some time but he would integrate himself into his new life until he could conquer it.

Ezekiel stood in the center of the campus grounds surveying the place he would be staying for awhile, he didn't know why he was here, his only order were to wait for someone to contact him. He looked up at the sky and closed his eyes, he would wait patiently for his orders. He listened as the large iron gates to the campus grounds opened with a squeak, he turned immediately seeing a figure passing under the archway. From the looks of him he looked new, Ezekiel walked over to the person without a second thought. He walked over swiftly, standing his full 6'3 he stopped in front of the young man and spoke with a slight accent
"You there, young man." He nodded to him, and said
"My name is Ezekiel, what say you to a spar? I promise no harm will come to you." He made no expression, he spoke sternly and without feeling. He needed some way to pass the time, why not start by practice with he students around. The young boy seemed combat orientated to a degree, Ezekiel waited for the young man's reply. He stood only a few feet from the young man, his gold eyes piercing and decisive. He made no moves, he stood stock still. He would hold no grudge against the young man for declining, he spoke then offering the option to say no
"I hold no ill will if you decline." He offered another slight bow and went back to standing there, his hands crossed in front of him. His armor shone brightly in the sun as it reflected the young mans appearance off its shiny surface, his sword dangled at his side sheathed and protected. He stood and watched the young man intently looking for something on his face to give away his answer.

Reynard was surprised at this young man's sudden proposition. He had barely entered the gates and he was already being asked to fight. Maybe he would like this place after all. The man was even taller than Reynard was and seemed to have a intensity that was almost frightening. Reynard had to admit that he was unsure of whether he could beat the man. After all he seemed to have some sort of power. However he had to try or else he would be viewed as a coward which Reynard would never allow.
"Hmm so you want to fight me do you?" Reynard asked "I really should ask to what I owe this pleasure but I don't think I will after all it won't affect what we are about to do. Since you challenged me I get to lay out the terms. Firstly no powers, second no weapons. If you have any other qualms please tell me." Reynard had set up the terms in such a way that it would hopefully give him the advantage. After all he had great stamina and strength. With powers and weapons out of the way the playing field should be more in his favour. Although he didn't what he other man was so he had no idea of whether he was actually hurting the man He waited for the mans confirmation of the terms.

Ezekiel nodded once to the boy and spoke bluntly
"I accept your terms to the spar, no weapons or powers." He turned then and walked to the center of a field off to the left of him, a large oak tree sat close by shading some of the area. He walked over and turned once again facing his opponent, he bowed once keeping his eyes on the boys. He stood strait again, he turned his body slightly setting his left foot at an angle to his body behind him. The right side of his body faced the young man as his eyes stayed at the center of his chest, he could see the wind moving his shirt and hair slightly. He watched every muscle in the young mans body looking for any clue as to his moves, he spoke once more before starting the spar
"Introduce yourself to your opponent young sir." He spoke with a slight order in his voice, the young boy knew that he made the rules to the engagement because he had challanged him. He should also know to introduce himself before the fight started, Ezekiel stood at he ready waiting for the young man. He knew that once the boy introduced himself to the spar that the spar would then commence, he stood fast with no expression in his eyes.
His face stood stone still as his mind ran through the old battles he had won against his comrades, he knew this would be slightly different seeing as the young man was no angel or demon. The aura that illuminated from the boy was quite different than that of ones he had seen, he put he knowledge and sight of the aura in the back of his mind. He would save the information for later use if he was every up against another creature like the boy, he still had no idea what he was exactly but he could tell by his demeanor that he was rather defensive. Ezekiel had seen this in one pupil he had tutored a long time ago, he pushed it from his mind as he waited for the young man to start.

Reynard examined the field around them as the man no Ezekiel agreed to his terms. He would have to remember that the tree was there. It might come in useful later. After he was sure he knew the layout of the land he answered Ezekiel's question "My name is Reynard Halcyon. So shall we begin?"
Reynard instantly crouched into a defensive position the second he finished speaking. He watched Ezekiel's body for any sign of a forthcoming attack. It appeared that Ezekiel was also examining him as well so they both simply stood there about a foot apart examining each other for several seconds. Finally Reynard decided to strike first. He purposely tensed with his right leg making it appear as if he was starting with a kick. Instead threw a punch with his left hand. He was right handed but this was just a test, and ideally Ezekiel would think he was left handed giving Reynard a chance at a surprise attack later. It wouldn't be as fast or as powerful as with his right hand but hopefully his trick with the leg would have distracted Ezekiel enough for him to get the blow in.

Ezekiel felt the wind hit him as soon as Reynard had kicked off, his eyes caught his leg tensing slightly as he left his stance and came at him. He took a second to watch him shift his body to throw a punch with his left, he stood fast until Reynard was only inches from connecting. He could tell from the throw that it wasn't his normal starting attack, he twisted backward on his left foot.
His body moved with Reynard's as he passed him swinging, Ezekiel took a step back as soon as Reynard was directly in front of him. He made no move to strike or retaliate against the attack, it was much to wide and open to take advantage of. He could tell the young man had little knowledge of battle after his first strike, as he stepped back and cleared a little distance between Reynard and himself. His body and eyes followed Reynard as he passed him, he kept his shoulders and feet square in front of him. Pointing his feet at an angle in either direction to square himself off with Reynard, he spoke loudly in a slightly scornful way.
"Never make the first move, you left yourself wide open swinging off handed like you did." He stood fast again and watched Reynard, he would wait again for another strike. He spoke to Reynard stern fully
"Try again." His voice was cold and emotionless, his eyes held no answers or knowledge. He kept himself steady, his hands hung to his sides loosely. He would not let Reynard leave another opening, this time he would counter. His eyes watched him again, not making eye contact with him but watching his chest. Using his peripheral vision to watch his movements.

Reynard had gotten lucky. Ezekiel should have hit him but for whatever reason had decided not too. However Reynard could tell just from one look at Ezekiel that he wouldn't get so lucky again. However more worrisome to Reynard than the missed hit was how Ezekiel had avoided it. Ezekiel had obviously waited as long as he could before avoiding the blow. There was no other explanation for it. Which meant that Ezekiel was probably faster than Reynard. So Reynard should attempt to make it a game of stamina and strength rather than speed. After all he did have an incredible stamina.
Reynard wondered at how he could prolong the fight. It appeared that Ezekiel would keep waiting for his next attack. This time he would make Ezekial block instead of avoiding it. He would try to add Ezekiel's speed into his calculations and try to see whether he could get a hit in.
Reynard continued circling Ezekiel both of them still a foot apart from the other. He would do a combo attack this time. He started the attack with a direct kick towards Ezekiel's stomach and if it hit or was avoided he would follow it up with a direct jab at Ezekiel's chin.

Ezekiel watched Reynard circle him, he turned his head and watched. Letting him slide behind his blind spot directly behind him, Reynard stopped in front of him and sent a kick for his plates abdomen. He let the kick in, stopping his hands. The force slid him back but made no dent in the strong heavenly forged armor over his chest and stomach, he had let the kick land as fast jab came forward in a strait shot to his jaw. He shot his arm up in a split second as Reynard's arm stretched out and knocked the blow away with a simple push up with his own hand, using his left he dug his fingers under Reynard's foot and shoved with enough pressure to throw him back. He spoke as he shoved back on his foot
"Stop playing and hit me Reynard, this is not a game." He yelled this at him still standing where he was, small skid lines started from his foot and ended a good 2 feet in front of him. He noted the strength behind the kick and the distance he went, 'The boy is stronger than he looks, and faster than I assumed.' His eyes went back to the boys chest, waiting for his next move.

Reynard was pushed to the ground several feet away from Ezekiel. He hit the ground and stopped the energy by rolling and jumping up before he could skid farther. He winced at the pain. Even though he had managed to avoid skidding it still hurt. Ezekiel continued to insult Reynard's attempts. This time however Reynard didn't rise to the bait. He had managed to force Ezekiel to block. Maybe he wasn't as outmatched as he thought. However one thing worried him the kick had hit Ezekiel hard enough to push him pack a foot and yet Ezekiel hadn't flinched. He had to be using some sort of power.
As Reynard approached Ezekial once more he asked "I thought we had agreed not to use powers. There is no way you stopped that kick without at least getting bruised." Reynard arrived within striking distance of Ezekiel but decided that he would wait for Ezekiel to attack this time.

Ezekiel tapped the armor on his stomach and spoke curtly
"If my armor bothers you the I will remove it." He reached to his sides and unclipped his armor, he pulled off the breast plate swiftly and chucked it to the side into the grass. It landed with a thud and rolled to a stop, Ezekiel stood armor less now in front of Reynard, his bare skin shone in the sunlight. He felt the warmth from the sun and basked in its heat, his body was clean. No hair grew on him, his body seemed like stone as the light reflected from his skin. He turned back to Reynard and retorted
"Tis just armor my good sir, no magic involved. Unless you count its forging?" He stood at striking distance from Reynard, he could tell that he wasn't going to attack this time. He went on the offensive immediately, He sent his body forward kicking off strongly with his legs. He moved much faster now that the heavy armor had left his body, his sword still hung on his belt. He flew forward and spun quickly, he twisted his shoulders and spun on his feet right in front of Reynard putting him on Reynard's left side. He sent his right foot for the center of Reynard's calf looking to set him off balance by kicking out his left foot from under him.
He swung his left hand in a hook palm flat, the hook shot for Reynard's chest in a blur looking to land square against his abdomen. He had left a small opening in his defense by doing this, Reynard could twist by his palm by dipping his left shoulder towards himself. He knew if he did Reynard would be sitting indefinitely close, close enough to throw a quick rib shot or a left elbow to any part of his chest or head. He did this purposely to give the boy an opportunity to escape the angels own combo

Reynard wondered wether maybe making Ezekiel take of the armour had been a good idea. He was much faster now. In fact if he hadn't had such good vision he doubted he would have been able to follow what Ezekiel was doing. He tried to jump away from Ezekiel but wasn't fast enough. The kick connected solidly with his calf but instead of knocking him down as Ezekiel had planned it simply pushed him farther away. Which was good since a punch that would have knocked the wind out of him if it had hit stopped a inch from his chest.
Reynard stood up from yet another embarrassing result. That was it! He was going to transform. He hadn't wanted to because he wasn't sure whether it was allowed and it would probably provoke his opponent into transforming as well. However he didn't have a choice, Ezekiel was too fast. Given enough time Reynard could probably have figured out Ezekiel's attacks but by the time he did he would also probably be dead. In his Kludde from he was faster and would be able to fly if he deemed it necessary.
Reynard shed his human skin unfurling the Kludde beneath. "I promise you things won't go quite as easy for you as they were."

Ezekiel's hand stopped an inch from Reynard's chest, the kick had landed and but Reynard had kept his balance and slid back a couple of feet putting him just out of reach. Ezekiel stood strait up again, moving back to his own stance. He listened to Reynard say he was going to change, Ezekiel's face made no change. His stone features stayed put as he watched Reynard transform, a Kludde stood before him. Ezekiel raised an eyebrow at the creature and spoke one word
"Continue." He stood patiently awaiting the winged wolf's attack, he had wings of his own but he figured he would not use them. The boy had given him the advantage of letting him remove his armor, he was now much faster but less protected. He looked behind him and noticed the tree was getting closer to them, they were slowly backing up to the base of the large oak. He looked back at Reynard, his gold eyes locked like steel on his animal form. He stood stock still, watching the beast in front of him.

Reynard continued examining Ezekiel and the surrounding ground. They were approaching the tree which was both good and bad. While it would restrict the use of his wings it would also hopefully allow him to trap Ezekiel against the tree. Now that Ezekiel had lost his armour Reynard could actually do some serious damage. Especially now that Reynard could use his claws and mouth.
Reynard thought about his next move. He could charge Ezekiel and show him just how much faster he had gotten, or he could attempt to leap on him gaining extra momentum through the use of his wings. He decided to use the second option. After all he would want to strike now and surprise Ezekiel. Also with his wings he would be able to turn if Ezekiel tried to dodge.
Reynard started to cautiously approach Ezekiel. Then he suddenly leapt in the air angling his wings to maximize his momentum. If all went well he would start out by an attack at Ezekiel's face hopefully disorienting him and getting blood in his eyes, and then if that was successful he would attempt to bite his hand reducing his combat potential. It seemed like a good plan to Reynard.

A bright light illuminates from Ezekiel, time seems to stop when this happens. The Kludde sits in the air in a half bounding attack, Cassiel lands in front of the Kludde with his back facing him. Ezekiel looks at his brother with a smile, Cassiel speak to him with a nod
"Our brother's have seen fit for us to trade places brother, I will be taking over your human form in the place among humans." Ezekiel nods to his superior, and speaks quietly
"Yes Cassiel, go easy on the Kludde behind you. The boy is new and is learning." Cassiel nods and with another bright flash Cassiel is gone, a bright light shoots up into the sky. Cassiel looks at his hands for a moment and heaves a sigh, He looks back at the Kludde before him. With a snap of his fingers the Kludde continues flying towards him, his claws outstretched for his eyes. Cassiel moves fast, he ducks under Reynard dodging the claws above him. Shooting an arm around the Kluddes waist he twists himself up hooking his arm around Reynards waist, with a shove he changes Reynards direction as sends him spinning away. Cassiel stood back up as he watched Reynard skid to a stop in the grass landing on all fours, Cassiel spoke quickly
"Ezekiel is no longer in this form Reynard, My name is Cassiel and I will be taking over your training." He nods to Reynard, the sword at his waist is gone. He now wears a plain white t-shirt and a pair of white sweat pants, no armor is set on his body. He speaks again to the Kludde
"You may continue whenever you like Reynard, I am always ready." He offers a small smile, his gold eyes holding something much deeper than they showed.

Reynard tried desperately to understand what had happened. One second his plan was going perfectly and he might finally get an attack in, the next second Ezekiel appeared to move even faster than he had before and had thrown him to the ground. Reynard had barely managed to land on all fours. He couldnt keep getting beaten up like this. Now the man was declaring that Ezekiel had left and now he was Cassiel. Just what was he Reynard wondered. The man's stance and whole bearing had changed becoming more authoritative and threatening. Not only that but his very clothes had changed to something much simpler.
Reynad decided to ask the man just what had happened. At least the interlude would allow him to examine the man or Cassiel "Dare I ask what just happened there? Firstly earlier you wouldn't have been able to avoid that attack and now you are saying that your name has changed." He stayed in a cautious crouch in case Cassiel or whoever it was attacked him.
