Welcome, young student, to Chimera Academy – a mythical monster boarding school.

Here, we promise to do our very best to teach you the fine art of being imaginary. Well, imaginary to all those who are blind to our existence. We, as you may have already guessed, are the myths of this world - the boogie men and the monsters under your bed.

Don't worry. We don't bite. We teach. To be specific, we teach you to be just like us... myths. But remember, where there are myths, there are nonbelievers. People who don't see the fantastic like we do. Let's try to keep it that way, shall we? Humans have such a quaint little world view, thinking they're the only things out there to worry about. Let's not to ruin that wonderful delusion for them.

Nov 22,09 - Just finished up the thread search, so we have a squeaky-clean site! Illia and I have been talking, and we will be working to start more threads and work to finish them up. Also, just a little announcement, new members that have joined after the event sign-ups were closed may now join them! Hooray! Now go off and post everyone! Let's wake this site up!

Oct 24,09 - New skin! I hope you like, it took a while, and as you may have noticed, I wasn't on for a whole week so I could finish it up. Sorry about that, but I'm here now >.> Also, I'd like to make clear that it's not exactly finished. We have some new features like the pm bar and the new activities (quests and myths&legends) that I must still make explanations for. Some of the links in the activities section are not linked, and I'm working on that, so no worries. I'd also like to give a shout out to the new members we have. Hey there! :) If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask! The g-mods and I are here to help, and so are some of our senior members, if you catch them in a good mood.

Oct 11,09 - We have a few updates and some simple site maintenance for the upcoming arrival of our new skin. Yay! OTM's, plot and past events, dorm listings, the music player, the race list, the pictures in the race list, the new cabaret board, and the chimera weekly have all been updated. The Chimera Weekly will have a new name with the new skin, but just so you know it will no longer be posted weekly >.> It's posted whenever the authors feel like, pretty much. But it'll always be on a Sunday, so no worries! Also, we have a lot more updates coming, so watch out for them!

Oct 06,09 - Due to the school time slow in activity, I have made a few changes to the way things are done around here. First off, the Today's Announcements" is now "Recent Announcements," because it has come to my attention that there is not an announcement every day :/ Second, I have updated the rules to include our new activity checks and the thread checks, so go check out the details on those. Third and last, I would like to stress the need for you to tell me from now on when you will be gone or inactive for a while! It seems like a good idea, considering I might think you just left, and I would hate to make that mistake. You can post absences in the Notices board, for those who don't know, so go forth and do that if you're planning in being gone! Lastly, I have done the activity check and lo and behold our new member count >.> It's sad, I know but at least I now see we have about 20 loyal members. That's a pretty good number for a site not only a year old. Keep it up, guys, and thanks!

Oct 03,09 - I have moved the little music player - our newest perk - to the dashboard after fiddling with its location :/ I'm still not pleased, but it will do for now. I'll probably install a link if you'd like me to add more songs to it, so sit tight for that! That means the dashboard will still have a bit of minor remodeling left, so watch for how the info is placed! Additionally, I am going through inactive members and threads. You have received a mass PM stating which threads you are in, and asking if you'd like to continue them. As for members, any accounts that have not been on for a month will be deleted tomorrow. You have been warned!

Oct 02,09 - The Music for the S O U L contest is closed! I will move it to my admin board and judge the contestants for their prizes >.> You will have the results either tonight or tomorrow. Also, I am checking affiliates, looking for new ones, and playing with the format of the welcome table, so if something moves (like, a sentence is reworded or such) then you'll know what's happening! Lastly, I will be closing the sign up thread "Take me with you" for the ball since it has begun, but will keep it up in case you need to see who your dates are.

Issue 3 - Sept 27

For First Prize and Headline award...

Starved for Friendship It should be rather easy to make new friends in a school as large as Chimera Academy. However, within these wall exists a really perfect and unlikely place to meet others: the cafeteria. When most are getting together in their little groups or cliques, leaving one's comfort zone to introduce themselves to new people could prove rewarding. This held true for 3 young students: Shirayuki, Arabella and Katrine. After having met in the lunchroom, perhaps this could lead to a close-knit friendship? Maybe not, but at least they know more people now.

Still Starved... While the dining hall may be a good meeting place for people, sometimes shyness can get the best of someone. Or several people, actually. Such is the tragedy that had befallen Raven, Lily, Arabella and Areyna. There were only two introductions, with no more words following them. The majority of the lunch period went by in silence for them. Well, if a lesson can be learned here, it's pay attention to who you'll be sitting with.

First day in the Academy Fiona Ashby walked along the school hallway, heading to her locker, on her way there, she was wondering why she felt like so much of a loner here, with all the other monsters. And as she was getting her history book, humming to herself and none other than Seth comes along exclaiming in a quite monotone voice.
"Nice song"
And Fiona being her nice plucky self, took it as a complement and introduced herself nicely. And Seth returned the favor by introducing herself, uninterested in the conversation I might add. Fiona the continued taking, and then Fiona noticed that Seth had history two and Fiona was quite happy about that. The conversation then somewhat progressed, them talking about the school, classes and that it was both there first day. And then with that, they went off too history class.
