Healing

It had been two weeks sense the the couple had a visit from the shadow creature.
With Drenar's leg still broken she had to stay in the den with Zeus.
but he did take very good care for her almost like she was a queen.
Zeus hunted and brought fresh food and always let her have the first pick.
The fox also brought fresh water every day.
As much as he could Zeus stayed to keep Drenar company.
even a couple times he carried her out to the sun so she could enjoy the bright rays.
Zeus made sure to take care of the vixen like it was his own pup.
even tho the days past quickly and Zeus had herbs to speed up the healing it was still going to take a month to heal let alone walk on it.
by then people might get worried and come looking.
not knowing what to do about that Zeus thought he should worry about that when it comes to that time.
right now he needed to make sure Drenar's leg healed properly .

Draner lay quietly on the small bed of rubbish that Zeus had made way back two weeks prior. She hadn't really left much--and in fact she had no reason to leave much since the chimera brought her food and water, fresh. Often he was here with her, and when he was they didn't really do anything, just lay in each other's company. Oftentimes she was exhausted because the forest was trying to mend itself, and that took tremendous spiritual effort. Being a spirit creature was really draining in times like this.

Although, she felt really cared for at times like these. Sometimes she got to lay in the sunlight and warm her fur, and Zeus almost always had some herbs to speed up the recovery. She felt so loved and protected.

She too was awaiting the time when some official from the school came and busted her from missing two weeks of school. The vixen wasn't noticing any real improvement with her leg, and she could tell that it would be quite some time before she would be going back.

The days were passing quickly.
it seamed as if the hours turned to seconds.
and seconds we all know fly by very fast.
even tho the days seamed to fly the leg seamed to heal very slowly.
and Zeus only knew the basics of herbs.
maybe he should take Drenar to a real Doctor.
maybe even some one with more practice in magic.
there were some days were Drenar looked drained of power.
This was all Zeus's fault.
he caused her pain.
if only there were some way to help take some of that suffering away.


maybe just maybe he could lend the fox some of his powers.
or was that to risky.
would she turn like he did.
to the God awful demean form.
deep in thought something aroused Zeus from his trance.
it was a smell but not any smell it was his smell.
Zeus smelled like a rotting body and he needed a bath.
no doubt Drenar needed one too.
but how was he suppose to do that?

Draner was sleepy, and she was very much aware that she stunk to high heaven, but with her leg the way it was, moving around too much was dangerous, in more ways then one. If something bad happened, like she shifted it, it would mend poorly and she would have trouble hunting for the rest of her life. She was sure something like that would guilt Zeus forever.

However, that was not what she wanted.

"Zeus?" She asked quietly. "You know, we could both use a wash. If we go to the lake I know how we can both get clean." Draner stated with a gentle wave of her three tails.

Even tho Zeus wasn't sure what she meant he didn't argue.
being as careful as can be Zeus gently picked up Drenar.
It took a lot to not let the fox hit anything.
with utmost delicacy and grace the Red fox carried the vixen much like a women would carry a child.

While holding Drenar Zeus couldn't ran or climb.
he could only walk.
and at the rate he was walking it would take a good hour to reach the lake.
but truly Zeus didn't mind it was a nice warm day.
birds were chirping Squarls were playing in the trees and even the deer seamed to be in a cheery mood.
it were days like this that made you think its nice to be alive.

after the long walk They reached the shimmering lake.
by this time of the day the water would be nice and warm thought Zeus.
with a smile on his face he walked over to the edge of the water and waited for more instruction.

Draner gripped him gently and looked around. She was probably the only one who noticed, but the trees looked tired and sick, perhaps even with a slightly grey tint to their bark. She remained awake for a couple minutes on their peaceful walk. The female fox always felt like the forest was sucking away her energy to rejeuvenate itself. When she came too again they were at the lake she saw a large leaf and picked it. When He looked towards her for instruction, she merely smiled.

"You can just wash yourself the way you'd wash yourself. But me you'd have to use this." she showed him the leaf and smiled. "Just a scrub." And she rested her head on her pale paws, turning away from him so he could wash.

After Drenar turned away Zeus jumped in the water with a splash.
it was strangely cooler that he expected but it still felt nice.
all tho Zeus didn't take that many baths he made sure to scrub every were till his fur coat shined.
He also made sure to re-wash everything again for super clean (and because he enjoyed the water).
after he was done bathing Zeus swam a couple of laps and got out.
he grabbed the big leaf and picked up Drenar.
slowly the two moved into the water.
Zeus wasn't sure how she was going be able to bath and have her privacy.
so he handed the vixen the leaf and turned his head while holding her in the water.

Draner smiled and let her three tails twitch playfully. It had been so long since she'd played in the cool water of Nymph Lake. The female fox did remember that she was not here to play, but to wash. perhaps all she needed was a little of the lake's aquatic blessing to help her leg heal. So she took the large leaf and scrubbed herself well. Once she was finished, she smelled lightly of mint, and felt so much better. Her leg felt a lot better too. "I'm finished." she announced to Zeus.

after Drenar said she was done Zeus got a sneaky idea.
just as she said she was done Zeus dunked her under water with a chuckle.
he brought her right back up after her head just barely was covered.
walking back to shore with a wet fox (not meant pervertedly) Zeus lade both himself on the shore.
they were close unuf to the water that it licked their feet but far unuf to not get wet.
it was a warm day we should dry quickly thought Zeus.
As the sun watched over the two Zeus looked at the shimmering (fur) vixen.
with a big smile he nugged her lovingly and licked her neck.

The fox looked up at the Chimera and was about to say she was finished again when he dunked her underwater for perhaps a millisecond. An uncharacteristic whine came from her as she attempted to shake herself dry while he was still holding her, but stopped when she came to terms with why that was a very, very bad idea. If he dropped her she'd have no way of swimming with her bad leg.

So she became still and let herself be laid on the grass to dry. Once she thought her back was dry she used her front paws and good leg to turn on to her stomach. She rolled back and forth a few times, if only for the joy of having something she could do on her own without Zeus's assistance.

when he nudged her and licked at her neck, she smiled and rolled onto her side to nudge him back and lick at his cheek lightly.

Zeus looked deep into Drenar's eyes.
there was a new passion there he had not yet seen.
instead of a ruff playful tomboy.
Zeus saw a loving caring vixen.
something he thought he would probably never see again.
but he tried to enjoy it while he could.
with a very very soft voice.
Zeus said i love you.
and with that he kissed Drenar lightly.
and for what felt like years was only a split second.
but it was that second the Zeus would never forget.
he had found the person he wanted to be with for a long time.
Something was different!
Zeus felt a new power surging through his scar.
but it didn't feel like poison.
it felt warm almost soft like.
some kind of instinct came over him and he reached for Drenars leg.
at first nothing happen and Drenar just growled in pain.
then a white light wrapped around both Zeus's arm and the foxes leg.
that warm feeling came out and dove into Her leg.
after some time past the light faded and Zeus pulled his arm away.
the leg was healed!
maybe Zeus didn't only have dark powers.
maybe Drenar brought something from Zeus's heart.

A low, almost pitiful whine came from her when he touched her wounded leg. What was he doing? He knew well that that hurt her a lot. Could it be that he didn't understand why it hurt her? Was it possible he just... did it anyway? After all, Zeus had some rather odd ways of playing around, didn't he? Gently she began to squirm. Was... it getting worse?

It was, but as the white light flowed from his hand into her leg, pain went up sharply but then went down until it vanished. Curiously, the shook the leg back and forth, and a pleased purr came from her body when she felt no pain. Her muscles suffered a little atrophy, but it was nothing that a little activity couldn't fix in a heartbeat.

She rolled around in glee. Now she wouldn't have to depend on Zeus to move her from place to place! She would be able to hunt on her own! How could she show her gratefulness?

Draner looked over to Zeus and nuzzled against his soft fur lovingly before kissing him back. "I love you too."

There was a soft rustling coming from the trees. It might have been the small, playful waft of a breeze, or it could have been the slowly walking form that appeared from behind the thick barrier of vegetation. Either way, the breeze stopped stirring the branches just as soon as Crane stepped out.

He didn't seem to see the two sitting at the edge of the lake, and yet he moved directly towards them, eyes staring off arily into a place neither of the two there could see.

When he was almost a foot away, he looked down, calmly. There looked to be a small bit of surprise on his finely sculpted features, like he hadn't known where he was even walking to until he stopped.

But then again, he always looked this way. He didn't focus too greatly on the world around him, for whatever reason that might be.

Crane blinked, his surprise fading.

"Well hello there." he smiled, almost as if he was improvising and had not a word for the situation.

"You two have been here a while, haven't you? I'm sorry I didn't notice sooner."

surprised at the sudden aprence of this strange man Zeus quickly got up and drew his sword from No were.
this guy didnt seam harmful.
a\or even threatening for that matter.
but you can never be to sure.
with diamond blade in hand Zeus ex amend this other being.
in his mind he went through all his possible weaknesses and strengths.
Scenes his fights with coyle he had always studied his possible enemy's.
all the way down to the way they breathe.
with his normal super quiet voice Zeus asked.
How are you?

Draner was so relaxed and happy that she almost forgot that she had missed a week of school waiting for her leg to heal. She lay there, basking, relaxing, when a shadow fell over the two of them and blocked the kind, warm sun from their skin and fur. Her eyes cracked open and her blood ran cold. She recognized this man. She'd seen him on the first day of school, but never again. She kept his face with her always.

When Zeus stood and drew his sword, the young vixen merely rose to her four thin legs and looked at the ground, shyly batting at the grass with a forepaw.

"Sorry for missing so many days of class sir... I broke my leg and it just recently healed."
