Damion agreed because he had already decided on this part, so he left. As he walked through the woods he listened as closely as he could when all at once he heard it. An unsuspecting squirrel leaped in front of him in search of food on the ground. As quick as the squirrel jumped in front of him he froze in front of him. This was not the squirrels will, but rather that which was forced upon him. Damion had frozen him solid within ice. He picked up the tiny ice sculpture and walked back. Before he got within sight of Miriel he skillfully cut the head off and let it fall to the ground, then walked over toward the fire to throw the squirrel in on a stick.

Neron frowned and crossing his arms he stayed put. He didn't like this other guy, it seemed that he brought the worst out in him. As Damion returned with the frozen squirrel he muttered under his breath, "Wonderful, I wonder how Jaedon likes frozen squirrel."

Miriel shot Neron a glare that could have made a stone cringe. "Thank you Damion." Now with a fire started and blazing Miirel could relax. Sitting close to Jaedon she could still feel the fires warmth. It comforted her in this time. Closing her eyes she pulled her legs into a crossed position and calmed down.

Damion nodded to Miriel to acknowledge her thanks to him, but then he walked over to Jaedon, ran his hand along her flank and said, " Chargrilled, broiled or burned?" then laughed. He looked at Miriel and said, if you want, you can nuec the squirrel, she likes them completely chared to ashes, says that you get more protein." ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* All it took was the smell of frozen squirrel to bring Jaedon around. She had fallen asleep for a moment as the others had argued about what to do. Food was smelling more and more wonderful, she was starving. She was tempted to try and lurch out to grab the food but she didn't. She decided to wait, but she firmly showed her support for Damions suggestion by nipping at Miriels hand which had been fairly close. She licked her lips then laid her head down and gazed deeply into the fire, her green eyes looking like emerald water being reflected by the light.

Miriel smiled faintly at Damion before she gazed back at Jaedon. What a mess. It was then that she felt a sharp nip at her fingers starting up she exclaimed, "Alright, alright already!" She smirked as she put the squirrel into the flames.

The fire leapt up as Neron gazed at it. He caused the flame to stretch out it's fiery fingers with an intensity that soon had the squirrel a charred black. Once the squirrel was done her simply had the fire resume back to normal before turning his head away toward the lake.

The flames suddenly leaped toward the squirrel in a most unusual sort of way. SHe was not controlling the fire, so who was. Her gaze rested on Neron for a moment as a softness came over them. She knew Neron enough to know that this was a was of saying I'm sorry, in his own quiet way. Smiling slightly she took the stick and placed it in front of Jaedon, "Eat up before it gets cold. Perhaps then you can shift back to your other form. I must say it's and improvement to this one." A smirk came to her face as she teased her friend.

Jaedon ate the squirrel tiny bit by tiny bit. Even though it was not seasoned or even cooked with care it tasted very good. Jaedons experience had taught her that food made over fires were always the best. Maybe it was the smoke that gave the flavor, or maybe not...either way she loved every morsel. As soon as she had food in her stomach she started working fearlessly on getting her "normal" self back. As she searched the very depths of her mind, she finally found a way to work her skin back into place. Minutes after her meal was finished she regained her skin and was ready for a small walk back to her dorm for a good nights rest, but she didn't want to go alone. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Damion watched as the food worked like a charm. His friend stared hard into the fire as she searched for her sanity. Finally, the bicorne changed herself. The black fur disappeared and changed into pale white skin, long curling black locks, deep red lips, sweet face, and those ever constant jade pools that could consume the soul of a person if you looked into them long enough. Her charms came alive in the night. She was a creature meant for darkness, for shadows, for deception, and for stealth. He admired her strengths and wished that he could help her calm her fears. She was the dearest of friends. That jerk Neron could never understand what kind of person she was. She was like his sister. His good friend. "Bravo my dear, now shall we return you ladies to your rooms in the hopes that you don't cause any more trouble?" he was meaning to start off well with Jaedon now that she was a little more lively. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Jaedon turned her gaze to Damion, and then to Neron. "I don't think we were the only ones causing trouble. We were just the only ones causing physical trouble." Jaedon meant for her words to stick and to sting. She had not been idle the whole time that she had been incapacitated. She had heard many things, many coarse words.

Neron gazed steadily at Jaedon, his eyes were unreadable and distant. Her just gazed at her for what she said. "Yes, Damion you must work on that." He smirked at Damion before turning on his heel to leave. Then his form turned and his figure dissolved into darkness before another word could be said to him.

Miriel sighed as she watched him leave. There was something strange about his actions tonight, something off center and out of the norm. It was strange, as if he had something on his mind. Shaking her head she turned to Jaedon. "Well I don't know about the we in that last statement. You're the one that started all this." Her face lighted up with a smile as she walked toward her friend. It was good to see her friend in her other form, it usually signaled that all was well. Turning to Damion she smiled at him, "That sounds delightful. I'm sure a good rest would do all of us some good."

Damion was more than happy to be rid of that annoying and puffed up self important brat. He didn't think that he could have possible hated anyone any worse that he hated that jerk right about now. He just hoped and prayed that he didn't have any classes with that freak. If he did, he would make sur to stay away. The thought of them being partnered never even crossed his mind because he knew co-existance was impossible. The teachers would know better than to do something stupid like that. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Jaedon was relieved to see that Damion and Miriel were getting along. She hated people, but she hated idiots the worst. Idiots didn't like Miriel, and so far she had been surrounded by the intelligent tonight. She jsut prayed that Damion and Miriel would continue to be friends. Something puzzled her though. That other boy, Neron, had been staring at her. She had tried not to make it obvious that she saw him. She wondered what he was thinking and what he was so sore about. He was quiet and Jaedon liked that. She would never have told Damion, but she kind of laughed inwardly at what he had said. She would have said something along the same lines had she been in a fouler mood and had she made sure that he knew she was teasing him. What ever it was that he was staring at her for, she hoped that he would tell her one day, curiosity just killed her sometimes, as this night had displayed. "Right now, bed sounds great!" She was ready to go home!

Miriel nodded in agreement. Two of her friends seemed to leave with a reflective look on their faces, Neron and Jaedon. Yet for all the things that went wrong Miriel wouldn't have traded this for anything. IT was strange, for now she had a new acquaintance, which she hoped would turn into a friendship. So she walked off with them toward the dorms. A bed sounded so welcoming right now. END
