Tucking her red hair behind her ear, Rue sighed heavily leaning against the cold stone wall, sliding down the side of it to sit in the soft green grass. Skies shown the azure blue of a beautiful spring day, she could feel the light of afternoon's sun pure, radiant warmth on what of her fair skin was exposed by her maid costume, she idly picked at her fishnets all the meanwhile, the argument going on in her head. Rue, go talk to people! Meet people! Now! I wanna talk to people, Rue! Rue! Rue! Are you listening, Rue! Rue~! Rei whined. Rue then opened the book she was carrying on her, Lolita, it would be but the 5th time she had reread it. She ran her hand over the hardcover copy, giving it a loving glazed look, smiling for the first time since she had gotten to Chimera Academy. Lolita always was one of her favorites. Why was it her favourite again? Rue! Stop reading that book for the bloody last time??? What will people say when they see you reading books about Pedophiles???? Oh, yeah. That's why, because the very thought drove Rei mad. Turning to the first chapter, reading aloud the most well known quote from the enigmatic book:
"Lolita, light of my life, fire of my loins. My sin, my soul. Lo-lee-ta: the tip of the tongue taking a trip of three steps down the palate to tap, at three, on the teeth. Lo. Lee. Ta..."
Rue smiled in satisfaction aside from the searing migraine Rei had began to put what seemed all her second persona's energy into imposing upon her. She hugged her knees blocking out the pain, something she had become quite used to doing. She was just as used to being the new kid, as outgoing as she was, unlike Rei whom really ironically was in essence the shy one, just jump into the social game. Rue still did not know what to do, the past five human schools she had attended she had been thrown out of for one reason or another, this would not be the same with luck. Just do something Rue! Oh my Harry Potter... just... ughfgh. It was obvious at long last Rei had given up and stolen Rue's line which was unappreciated but just this once would let it slide. Rue at long last stood, closing her book, she walked along the side of the gate, running a finger along the metal gates. In the amaranthine scaling of the school's perimeter, her vision began to blur... everything faded into the Cimmerean shade as she collapsed ungracefully on the concrete walkway near the the wall of the east wing. Curses... shtupid stamina.

The courtyard was normally a popular place and most of the school flocked to the peaceful scenery, especially on today a spring day with the ideal amount of sunshine and wind. He found himself enjoying the weather, like everyone else. Like usual the crowd eventually migrated elsewhere in the courtyard, outside of the courtyard, or back in the school building. Today he held nothing in his hands; the homework was done and he enjoyed the rest of the free hours of the lovely day. Nature normally helped Davin and he walked along the sidewalk paths in the courtyard, heading to the other side so he could venture out onto the school's campus.
He approached the large metal gates and before he got very close to them, he saw something in his peripheral vision. Just as he looked over, he saw the body hit the ground. Davin's eyes went wide and he gaped at the fact. Someone just collapsed. Without wasting another second, he jogged over, attempting to find other help but found none. "Hey," he called out. "Are you all right?" He could have slapped himself about the question, but anything to get a response.
"Hey," he called again, now crouched down beside her. "Not too keen on the idea of carrying you in the school, but I can and will if necessary." Davin wasn't one for scenes and he tried to avoid them at almost all costs. On the flip side, he wouldn't let some girl just lie out here passed out. "And I'm sure you don't want me to make some sort of scene. You know, it might look bad on a Garm." He huffed at that fact. Not too proud about his race in some aspects. Look what happened to the girl, passed out, and in his presence too. "I swear I didn't do this though."

Rue lie still on the pavement, so weak that she feared her skin might fail at any time. It was probably her insomnia and perhaps depression, it was nulling her strength more than usual. She could feel the presence of someone near, something... someone unfamiliar. It was the first time in a while all she could hear was her own thoughts though fleeting and confusing. Rei's voice wasn't protruding through it for the first time. She couldn't remember why she was here, wherever here was or how, she didn't know anymore, she didn't know how long she had been conscious or unconcious... She was not sure what she was still aware of, lost in an endless darkness... she could not find a way out. As much as she liked this to most alternatives she had faced. She longed for reality, she needed to return to it, she didn't want to lose herself again... She had to escape this darkness before it completely consumed her. Rue began to ease her eyes open slowly, as the very effort in that was too much. She hated how pathetic it was, she always hated much about herself but most particularly her low stamina's brilliant effect of making her faint, such a repulsive weakness... She felt so helpless, so pathetic. Rue struggled to get up, shakily beginning to lift herself to her knees. "Where am I...?" She grimaced at how incredibly sad the situation was, and how much she wished at this moment to just pass out again and hope she would never wake up.

Rarely did Davin feel fear, but today he felt his heart beat a fresh dose of adrenaline through his veins; he saw things clearer and he felt his senses heighten. His senses grew more canine like, but he kept his composure. At first he found her unresponsive and mumbled a few curses. What would the school nurses say? And why was he found in these unlucky situations all the time? Davin realized focusing on self pity wouldn't help her get out of this state of . . . whatever state she was in. He bit his bottom lip and attempted to wake her again.
He looked off, about ready to pick her up and carry her in, but as he looked back he noticed her eyes were flickering and slowly opening. A wave of relief hit him, and he wanted to fall back and just look at the sky in pure bliss. "Thank God," he muttered. He was surprised how readily she wanted to sit up. "Hang on there," he immediately stated. "Don't get up too fast."
Davin took a second to breathe a sigh of relief. No one enjoyed these situations and he didn't bother imagining how it looked from her perspective. Right now he was selfish and thought of his own skin, but this came with sincere concernment for the girl who shakily sat up. He attempted to make sure she kept her balance too. "You're in the courtyard of Chimera Academy." He gave her the exact location just in case. Who knew what memory was erased with her fainting? "And I think it would be best if I helped you to the school's nurse. You still look pretty weak. Not that I expect you to jump right up after you passed out but . . ."

Maxim stared at the sky with a bored gaze, wishing something interesting would happen here for once. He had only come here because he had needed to get out of Paris for a while, but this place was... ghastly. There were barely any people, and when he did see someone they were usually much younger. Like a freshman, and by that point, he was so irritated he didn't feel like talking. He'd usually just storm to his dorm or some other secluded place. He'd been searching for Aalish and Ciel, and having located neither, he figured they were in the same position as him.
He heard someone talking, it sounded like they were reading something aloud, before it was abruptly cut off and soon after he heard another voice speaking. Curious, he walked around the corner, and saw a girl on the ground and a guy speaking to her. Feeling the reassuring weight of his enormous sword, Anarchie, on his back, he continiued to step forward, raising a ebony brow as he watched the little interaction and the girl started to get up.
"You really should go to the infirmary."
He stood casually, though he was preparing himself for anything, the worst case scenario being one would attack him. The deep rumble of his voice demanded respect, and held an air of authority as it always had. Ciel often said it was because he had grown up too fast. As if Ciel had any room to talk. He internally scoffed at the thought of his rampant little brother, and felt a breeze stir his jagged black locks, that stubborn piece of hair in his face.

Rue blinked several times, shaking her head slowly, nearly losing her balance. Her sight was blurry, and what she could see was growing darker again. She fought it though, looking at the figure beside her. It all came back to her with Chimera Academy, she looked at the figure, a boy about an age older than her perhaps, with messy blond hair, she could feel the fear radiating from him. Great just great! You are worrying strangers, Rue! Quit passing out in places. Rei complained angrily. Rue was not sure whether or not to be happy that when she hit her head on the pavement she did not lose Rei... Probably best to say a little disappointed at the least. She shook her head once more. She then noticed that he was talking, completely oblivious as to it before hand she caught the last of the spiel. "...not that I expect you to jump right back up after you passed out..." "I-I'm fine... this happens a lot... nothing I'm not used too..." Rue murmured quietly, stuttering over the first word. Trying once more to bring herself to her feet, shakily, her legs failed her. Nearly falling, she sat herself back on her knees ungracefully looking away in embarrassment a small blush beginning to cover her pale face, she shifted positions slightly embarrassed by this helplessness she was portraying. She hated it, it was like she always had a natural affinity for being a damsel in distress. She wasn't a dependent person and yet, found herself all too often in this kind of situation. She barely noticed the tall dark figure only a few feet away but did receive his comment only increasing her embarrassment. "..."

He raised a brow at the information she gave him. "Maybe you should have that checked out," he replied. Passing out randomly wasn't something exactly normal. Then again, considering this place, what was normal? So he bit his tongue there, but he naturally assumed that, for most species, passing out didn't fit the description. She acted ready to go, and as he rose alongside with her, he quickly managed to react to her falling and attempted to slow it down. Garms usually had good reflexes, a perk he figured.
Davin wasn't someone anyone would describe as nice, but not really mean either. He sat on the fence usually, but he acted patient and rather nice in this circumstance. Sometimes the bad could bring out the good in anyone. He offered a smile to her obvious embarassment. Whether she knew it or not, he had nothing else to do and would rather help someone than wander around the place.
Since she collapsed, he expected it to gain attention and upon hearing the words, it did little to surprise him. Yet, something about this man's aura distracted him and annoyed him a bit. Davin took a moment to glance over his shoulder. Maybe he should personally be more aware of an attack after noticing Maxim's stance. Davin didn't plan to attack anyone any time soon and the girl appeared too weak to do anything.
"She'll probably go when she's ready to and can." He added the probably in there to keep orders down since he personally disliked orders. Davin disliked the tone of voice. Maybe because it held that air of authority that he detested. Loathed, detested, hated, all of these feelings crept over him, but he hid it well behind a patient mask. The garm could keep some things hidden at least. Assuming that he wouldn't be going anywhere any time soon, he plopped down beside the girl and looked up at the towering dark individual who crept up behind them. Davin might have seen him once before; everyone usually saw everyone else at least once, but nothing came to mind.

Maxim allowed a smirk to cross his lips as he listened to the boy's rough reply. Well now, someone was in a bad mood ! Of course, Maxim really didn't find it in him to care as he watched the girl's embarrassment and wondered if it was possible to die from embarassment. Maybe. Of course, the girl obviously couldn't help the face that she had passed out, so he wouldn't be as cruel to tease her about it.
"It's not your fault if you can't help it, you know."
He absentmindedly fixed the harness holding the sword strapped to his back, enjoying the cool breeze that drifted in with the afternoon hours. It was a good sign that spring was here and it brightened his mood a bit. If Maxim liked anything, he liked change. Everything got boring after a while, and it was nice to see a fresh change of pace every now and then.
Really, at least the girl wasn't loud. Too many females here were like banshees with their shrill, loud voices. It simply drove him to madness when he was around them. Even though he didn't remember much of his mother, he knew she had a quiet voice. Maybe that's why he liked them so much.
He always had liked rare things.

Rue sighed, she had drawn attention of another person, just what she needed. Rue did not mean to judge too quickly but she could pretty much tell that she already did not like that guy, whomever he was. She hated being embarassed, she hated being weak, she hated this situation, she wanted to go about unnoticed for her first day but then of course her stupid stamina would cause her to faint! And no one just walks by some girl who falls over and passes out because that is so abnormal! What wasn't abnormal here? As much as she wished to send some sort of acidic comeback to his remark, she figured it a waste of her energy as whatever came out would probaly either stutter or sound stupid as the former statements had. But the moment his hand touched his swords harness, instinctively hers went right for the throwing spikes, bo-shuriken, hooked to her belt, without they least bit of hesitation, almost in a instant to her feet, despite how they buckled beneath her. She turned, slipping four from her belt sending them skillfully in the direction of the smirking boy. Rue... could you not pick fights when you are pretty much dead to start with, I love the persistence but, YOU ARE GOING TO GET US KILLED!!!!!!! Rei yelled shrilly. I didn't mean too! Its natural instinct, wasn't by my choice... Rue shot back in her mind. Well! Could your nature be less hostile?!? Rei complained bitterly. "What fun would it be then, Rei..." Rue murmured quietly but loud enough to hear by accident, she didn't know what triggered the hostility aside from his reaching for his sword but she was sure what was to come would more or less interesting.

Unlike the other two, Davin carried no weapons today. Fighting with weapons seemed pointless to him--in fact, it was pointless to the garm who would mold out of his skin immediately. He preferred the natural way of fighting, so he said. This explained the reasons for no weapons and also showed some weakness in his trigger. But what did he care? While he never backed down from a fight it didn't mean he didn't enjoy them necessarily. And when the voice slithered into the atmosphere, Davin's expression hardened and the garm snarled, not bothering to hide any dislike for this smart-ass stranger. Usually self control came second nature, but sometimes the aura of the person held an effect on Davin that he simply could not control. He didn't jump up immediately, but he stood up, his spine rigid and his eyes coldly watching Maxim with every caution.
He bit the inside of his jaw, trying not to react in words and not do anything for that matter. One of his fists clenched, but there always had to be some outlet for the anger that now pulsed through his veins and throbbed behind his ears. "I think I'm helping her more than you are," he stated with his own bite of venom. A smile crossed his lips, mockingly, tauntingly. "And I don't need to show off my pretty little sword while I'm at it." What did Maxim think he was doing? Putting fear in them? Davin stifled a chuckle and turned back to the girl, but made sure that he didn't turn his back on Maxim. Anger worked in various ways and he didn't know how the reaction would be from the words he uttered.
Already used to the girls odd demeanor, Davin only raised a brow at her mutterings. As far as he knew, no one else was here and whoever she talked to went beyond him. He didn't ask though: maybe she hit her head a little too hard. Realizing that he had taken his eyes off of Maxim, he quickly glanced back, showing his distrust. But everyone needed a healthy skepticism about them. He felt bad for not giving the attention to the victim of this situation. The pettiness of the war of words got under his skin at the moment, so he returned his attention to Rue. "You all right?" And this was mainly directed at her previous words to this "Rei". But that also insinuated the question Why the hell did you do that? too.

A sigh left his lips as some weapons were thrown his way. The girl couldn't even stand properly and yet she was throwing weapons his way ? Hmm, that seemed a bit foolish on her part, but she probably figured the Garm would be on her side. Although, it really wouldn't matter if his skin fell. He felt the telltale contracting of his pupils as the weapons headed his way, and everything seemed to slow down as he simply stepped to the side, letting the weapons fly into the building not too far from him.
It was too easy really..It seemed as if he had been doing nothing for an eternity before finally, combat had presented itself once more. His skin longed to fall, to feel that wonderful sensation of his true form in the open air once again. The girl was lucky he didn't fight weakened opponents. He had been tested enough times today, and didn't wish to be trifled with. As for the Garm, he really didn't care what the guy thought of him.
"I don't fight weakened opponents. It's a waste of time."
