...Flash Forward Two Months...

Groaning lightly to herself Toka cursed herself for not making Hendrix wear a condom for about the 70th or 80th time today she shook her head and was just glad that her father wasn't there. He'd make her abort her twins right then and there once he learned about them. Growling at the though she placed her hand on her already swollen stomach and walked out of the girl dorms and into the stone garden for some peace and quiet. "Ahhh... This is what momma needs, aint that right darlings?" she smiled and looked down at her stomach.

Barguests were like normal bears, their pregnancies lasting about four or five months so Toka ended up looking like she was about her sixth month into a human pregnancy. "Gah... being a pregnant human makes me feel fat..." she growled lightly to herself and sighed before sitting down on one of the many benches and looking up at the sky. Moss had been ok with her being pregnant and all, even if it wasn't his child, and she was extremely happy that he took it well. It was just her father she was worried about.

Smiling at the girl beside him, Hendrix listened attentively as she rambled on about school and exams and other nonsense. It wasn't really important, he just needed to listen in case there was a quiz later. Of course, once he got her alone, none of that really mattered. He just had to get there first.

She was attractive, young, blond, probably a virgin. Just his type. She was very nervous and shy at first, but he was just so ****ing nice and charming that she warmed up to him in no time. Still not enough to go with him if he invited her back to his place, but enough to give him her phone number at least. He gladly accepted the slip of paper before saying his goodbyes as she raced off back toward the school. This would be easy. He'd call her and have her meet him somewhere secluded, and she'd be his by the end of the night.

Placing the piece of paper into his pocket, he turned to walk away, though he didn't get far before something made him stop dead in his tracks. It was... A girl. A girl he was pretty sure he'd ****ed before. What was her name? Toka. Right. That was a few... Months ago. Just a few...

He blinked several times, his eyes continually falling to rest on her stomach. Just a few months... So... Could he be...

A step back, followed by another, and another. He turned away from her, swallowing hard as he thought about the proper thing to do in this situation. Did he go over and talk to her? Should he just ignore her and leave? Should he do something else?

No, no! Just leave. Act like we didn't see anything.

Why don't we just go find out for ourselves? She seemed like a slut.

Kill her! Quickly!

No! Talk to her first and then kill her!

Running both of his hands through his hair he glanced back at Toka and then away again several times. Well, he had to do something, didn't he? He groaned, dropping both hands to his sides as he finally decided on his course of action.

Turning on his heels, he trotted up to her, stopping just in front of where she was sitting.

"Hey... Toka," He said, forcing himself to smile, "It's, um... Been awhile, huh?"

Unintentionally he glanced down at her stomach again before catching himself and looking back up into her eyes, laughing nervously as he did.

Starting a bit Toka looked up at the shadow that had just stopped by her and spoke to her. Quickly her gaze went to what-the-hell to what-the-**** as she remembered Hendrix. Getting up she looked him in the eye, which was kind of hard since she didn't wear heels much any more.

"Hello Hendrix... It has been, hasn't it?" she asked, her voice on edge, she didn't know what the hell he would think, let alone do, because she was sure he didn't like kids. Resting a hand on her stomach she looked at him and sighed lightly, seeing the confusion.

"Barguests have only four or five month pregnancies. And it's twins so I'm bigger than normal." she explained and scratched the back of her head sheepishly. After about a few minutes gone by she sighed lightly.

"They're yours," was all she said and pushed back her hair and started walking along the path at a nice easy pace, she couldn't walk very fast either now. It sucked being pregnant.

As Toka stood up, Hendrix shrunk back a little. Not much, but it was noticeable. He didn't do well with conflict, even if it was with someone weaker than him. His type was more likely to just avoid the problem and hope it never came up again, or just run away from it altogether. However, things were changing now, and they were making him do things that were really out of character for him.

"They're yours."[/i]

Eyes widening in shock at her words, he didn't move as Toka walked away. What now? He had other children, he knew that. After 300 years it'd be impossible for him not to, but he had never actually confronted the mother before. Although, it was rare for him to have something other than a one-night stand or... Well, rape.

"Huh... How 'bout that," He muttered to himself, still in shock.

He looked down the path, watching her continue walking for a moment before turning and walking after her, catching up to her in a few, easy strides. He glanced over at her, his gaze always returning to her stomach. Twins, huh? Well, when he did something, he really did it right! The thought brought a brief smile to his lips before another thought replaced it. They were his children. The very mention of that was enough to make his blood run cold.

"So, what are you going to do?"

He had to know, but the answer shouldn't really matter much. There was nothing forcing him to stay at this school now. He was free! He could, and would, leave whenever he wanted and no one here would have a clue about where he'd gone.[/color]

Groaning lightly to herself Toka had to stop just a few yards away, the twins were giving her a hard time. "Not now darlings... Mommy's walking and doesn't feel like falling over," she groaned lightly, holding her stomach. Sometimes she swore that the twins hated her. Sniffing lightly she smelt Hendrix come up next to her in just a few easy steps. She looked up at him and rose a brow slightly.

So, what are you going to do?

Straightening up Toka looked at Hendrix and felt her twins pretty much wrestling in her stomach. God they were horrible to her when they wanted to be. Hopefully they weren't going to be like this when they were out too.

"I'm going to keep them. Why?" she didn't expect him to want to be in their lives so she didn't feel like actively seeking him out to make him be a father. She was too drained from keeping up with them already.

He tapped his fingers together nervously, avoiding eye contact as he awaited her answer. Although it wasn't as if anything she said would make him feel differently. So why didn't he just ignore this whole mess and leave like he normally would? What was wrong with him?

Nodding when she said she was going to keep them, he looked into her eyes for a moment before quickly looking away. They stood in awkward silence for a moment as he debated about how to answer her. Clearing his throat and scratching the back of his head nervously, he still didn't look at her when he spoke.

"Uh, no reason."

He had to wince at his response. He probably could have come up with something better, though to be honest he had no idea why he wanted to know either. As he thought about this, another question came to mind, and it took a moment to think about how he should word it so it wouldn't sound that bad.

"And... You're gonna take care of them all by yourself?"

Well, that didn't work. Maybe he should have asked her out right after all. At least she should have gotten the gist of his question. That would have to do for now.

Toka Toka rose a brow lightly and pushed back her hair and watched him. He seemed nervous about confronting her while she was pregnant. Rubbing her stomach slightly she winced when she felt one of the twins kick hard, sometimes she swore they really did hate her.

Looking back up at him she listened and sighed lightly. "My boyfriend and his child are going to help me raise them..." she said lightly and drifted off in her sentence. He didn't know about her having a boyfriend, well it didn't really matter because it was after their little one night stand.

Raising a brow she looked him in the eye again. "Why do you want to know? I've heard things about you and almost none of it good, so what makes you take interest in me being pregnant now?" she asked and yet again pushed the light blond hair out of her eyes. "GOD!!! Being a pregnant human sucks..." she growled and looked down at her swollen belly

Shifting his weight uneasily, he looked around the garden, taking in the scenery without actually seeing any of it. It was as if he was determined to look everywhere except at Toka, and that was... A pretty accurate assessment. However, at the mention of a boyfriend, his head snapped back toward her immediately, his jealousy flaring up. So what if he hadn't seen her at all since that night. She still belonged to him. Though he didn't have much time to think about this before she went on the attack again.

Taking a step back, he glanced down before hesitantly looking back up into her eyes. Under normal circumstances, no one could beat him in terms of charisma, however, when confronted he lost almost all of it. Even now, he couldn't think of a suitable response that wouldn't make him sound like a jerk. Just about the only thing he could do would be to blurt out whatever was on his mind and hope for the best.

"But I don't-" He stopped himself, shaking his head, "No, I didn't mean it like that."

He ran both of his hands through his hair, trying to think of how he could form a semi-coherent sentence. This wasn't going well at all. He knew he had things to say, he just couldn't think of what those things were. Why wouldn't they help him out when he actually needed it?

"Look, I'm sorry. I just- See, I- No, no... It- It's not that I don't want- I just can't-"

Stopping mid-sentence, he looked away as he actually thought about what he was trying to say for once. They were just empty words, right? They didn't really mean anything. At least, they shouldn't. Because that was just the kind of guy he was, right?

He took several more steps back, glancing over at Toka only long enough to mumble a "Goodbye." before turning and walking away without a backwards glance.
