Go! Go! Go! Go! Run! Kevin frantically willed his limbs to perform a greater speed in escaping the human chasing him. His paws hit the concrete floor ever so lightly while the wind whispered through every hair on his furry cheeks. The human finally skidded to a stop losing the motivation in continuing to pursue him, or as the stranger put it, that forsaken cat. Kevin’s muzzle smiled in pure victory though he ceased to slow maintaining his fast feline pace. Man it had been too long since he ran freely in his true form. The feeling was quite relieving his tails twitching with excitement. What a rush. He always did contain an odd liking to playing tag as he described it. The adrenaline of simply being chased and the longing to escape was addicting!
He departed from the grounds of the compass diving into some dark green bushes. Kevin scurried up the rough flaking bark of a random tree hopping from limb to limb focusing intently on keeping his prize locked firmly in his jaw. He could smell the sweet liquid beyond its tin prison. He could hear the precious bubbles fizz uncontrollably while he bounced from tree to tree. Clearly now he had absolutely no sense in direction what so ever. In all honesty he was just going with the flow of the forest. Yes, the thought of becoming remotely stranded should have worried him but such concern failed to grasp his attention. He could only think about guzzling down that heavenly liquid trapped within his teeth. After a few more strides here and couple leaps there Kevin managed to find an opening to the never ending blanket of leaves.
He popped out of the surrounding vegetation bringing with him a hand full of cling-ons sticking to his fur like a magnet. Ruffling his specked coat to rid of the pesky plant life he lethargically trudged his merry way through the soft grass scanning the horizon for at least a subtle hint to expose his location. Not long till his cat eyes fell upon a churning lake, its waters dazzled by the high full moon above photocopying a rippled version of the rock in the sky. He stared dazed at the sparkling round disoriented disk in the water tapping his paw gently on the cool waters, watching the moons reflection fade away with the wrinkles in the lake.
The cylinder can slipped from his mouth partially startling the distracted cat for he truly forgotten his reasons for arriving here. Momentarily that is. Kevin caged his true form once more wearing the skin of a human, a wide grin present as he anxiously picked up the green can picking open the soda tab accompanied with a pleasant hiss. Kevin brought the Mountain Dew to his nostrils filling them with the sugary caffeine engulfed aroma. Oh just the smell quickened his heart rate releasing an idiotic chuckle from his throat as though he were already in a drunken stupor. When was the last time he had the opportunity to taste the awesomeness of that of soda. Too long ago to remember which fueled his desires even more. Inches, only inches from his lips till he stopped abruptly just as the first drop threatened to fall from the silver rim. He lowered the soda fixated on a sudden sound coming from the darkness. He scanned beyond himself determined to find the origin of the noise. Cautiously, he stood up slowly retreating to his left following the side of the lake. He was beginning to freak out a little. Did someone follow him? How absolutely creepy……
