It had almost been an hour since Morgan had returned from the library, but he hadn't gone back into his room yet. He had started reading before he opened the door, and now he was sitting on the floor, nose still in book and key in lock. His head was resting on his left hand, hiding both the left half of his face, and putting his head in a position in which it would not hit the door handle. Somebody had already pestered him with questions about his lack of a left eye on their way back to their own room and Morgan didn't want another person to do the same thing. They were his scars, they were his business. Why didn't anybody ever see that?
When turning the last page of his story collection, Morgan caught the edge wrong. He pulled his hand back and started rubbing his fingers together before the blood stained the page. He'd read the ending of the last story, then run back to the library to drop the book off. It was just a paper-cut; he could wash his hands later and apply a bandage just as easily then as now. The tips of his fingers were now the same color as the darkest strands of his red hair, but Morgan didn't care. It was just blood.
Losing an eye made Morgan pay more attention with his other senses, namely his hearing. He heard somebody walking down the hall, but he didn't move his eye from the text. People walked down hallways in the dormitories all the time, nothing new. Besides, he'd have to reveal the left side of his face if he looked up, and there was a fifty-fifty chance the person would have questions Morgan did not want to answer.

This was first time Artimis ever even heard of a dorm. He never even had a place with a roof on it until he was ten so this was a surprise that he was given a dorm room at the school.
Artimis had just coming from a food store where he bought cherries. Artimis loved to eat cherries they were his favorite food other than popsicals and cheesecake. Artimis was heading to his new dorm room when he saw a person outside the door that he was assigned to. Artimis was comfussed some. Did he have to share the room? If this was the case he had a bad feeling about this because he didn't get along with people all to well. Artimis was thinking of how this sharing thing was going to work. and then.........
Artimis smelt blood. Artimis' eyes opened wider as his heart pounded harder. He couldn't believe it the stupid person was bleeding just great. Artimis was restraining himself from running over and biting the person's neck. Artimis fell to the group felling weak from not drinking the blood when he was starving. Artimis didn't want to meet the person like this so as he layed on the floor he bite his lip tring to calm himself from the warm of blood dripping down his chin.

Morgan jerked his head up when he heard the person fall to the floor. The person had bit his lip so hard it was bleeding, and his eyes were wide. Vampire, he thought. When he heard it with his ears, though, Morgan realized he had spoken aloud. Yes, tell the suffering vampire he is, indeed, a vampire. That will help so much. Morgan went into the room, abandoning the book on the hallway floor.
First thing he did was wash the blood off and bandage the cut. Took about thirty seconds. Grabbed a towel and wet it under the still running sink- five seconds. Morgan had never met a vampire before, so he didn't really know how to help the boy, but he could at least help stop the bleeding for both of them. Another second passed as Morgan left the room and crouched next to the vampire stranger. He pushed the cloth against the guy's mouth, mopping up some of the blood in the process. "Sorry." Saying he was sorry for bleeding sounded odd. Morgan did his best to keep his right side facing the vampire. Bleeding in front of a vampire was bound to leave a bad impression; he didn't need to strengthen it with his "bad" side.

Artimis couldn't help but lay on the ground stunded from the smell of the blood. He didn't want to bite the man. The guy didn't do anything to him. As Artimis saw the man go into the dorm room he relized that that person was infact his new room mate...great. Artimis hated guys because they alway thing that are so good at everything but he didn't like girls that much either. They were always picky and so cought up on their beauty not like it matered to him. Artimis was trying to stand up by the time his room mate came back out but he couldn't. He let the male remove some of the blood off of his mouth but he could still smell the blood coming from his hand. It was tourcher to Artimis. He felt like something just kept hitting his chest and he was so hungry the blood was just mocking him. He wanted the blood so bad. To stop himself from the temtasion of biting the male, Artimis hit the males arm away from him. He didn't want the blood, He refused to drink it but he was so weak at the same time. Artimis bite his lip more this time percing his tooth completely through it. Artimis was slightly more calm as the blood flowed from his lip to his neck.

When the vampire forced Morgan's arm away, he just blinked(or winked, however you looked at it). He had a feeling he still smelled of blood. Tossing the cloth onto the boy, he looked down both hallways. They were alone, so Morgan lifted his hand off to the side, near his face. He had a feeling that taking the bandage off would be like signing a form to be this guy's blood donor, so he left it on. Even with his skin on, he could breathe fire to a point. He let the combustional venom sink out of the fangs that were disguised as his canines, and lit it with the spark pouch located in his lower jaw. The conflagration burst from his mouth and lit his hand on fire. But all dragons are fire proof, so it didn't hurt, just burned his bandage off and sealed the small cut. "Better? Or should I get you some blood anyway?" Morgan looked the vampire head on then, showing the scar that covered the entire left half of his face. His tone was empathic. It couldn't be sympathetic; he'd never suffered the pain of smelling blood when you were apparently thirsty.

Artimis suffering from the smell of blood started to smell fire. Artimis hated fire it kind of scared him some but yet fire always looked so pretty. Artimis lost the trase of the blood scent. He saw the male look at him and asked if he was better. Artimis sat up after a minute and looked at the male comfused. Why would he cares if he was okay? Artimis cold feel his blood dripping off of him onto the floor. Artimis was mad at hiimself for hurting himself so much ut he didn't want to hurt the guy infront of him for some odd reason. Artimis put his hand over his muth trying to stop the bleeding. He looked at the male as if he was fasinating. Artinis' eyes started to stop glowng red after a minute. they were still red but they just didn't glow in the dark. Artimis was speachless. He couldn't think of anything to say so he just sat there looking at the male like he was some sort of god or something.

Morgan blinked. Twice. The guy was just staring at him. Was he staring at his scar, or at him? Morgan couldn't tell and it was a bit disconcerting. Plus, the guy still hadn't said anything, so he had no idea where the dude had been heading. Was he this new roommate that his teacher told him about, or just some random kid on the way back to his own room? Morgan opened the door and held it open, his one eyebrow raised in a way saying "Do you want to come inside?". The dragon walked in before the vampire could answer, leaving the door open just in case.
Morgan hadn't given up his hoarding nature, but he kept his room clean. There was a bookshelf with every shelf filled, a closet with some clothes in it, and a made-up bed on the right side of the dorm. The left had a bare bed, empty closet, and an empty bookshelf. First glance made it look like anybody could have lived there. But, under the made-up bed, the dragon's hoard lay hidden. Anything that had caught Morgan's eye was under there, but he kept it as well hidden as he kept the room clean. The room was large, to accomodate for a dragon that would definitely not fit in an average dorm. Morgan sat down on his bed, bad side facing the wall.

Artimis was suprised that the guy just walked in his room and left the door open. Artimis gathered enough strength to stand up and walk into the dorm room. Artimis knowing that the dorm was half his walked into the bathroom to wash his face getting rid of all of the blood on it. Artimis after cleaning up his face put a bandaid on his outer part of his lip. Artimis hated that he was just now teasing himself by tasting the blood in his mouth. Artimis walked out of the bathroom and went over to the sheetless bed and layed down on it. Artimis was worn out from a long day he just wanted to sleep for a bit. Artimis laying down on his bed looked over at Morgan and said "So why do you hide your left side of your face? Are you scared people are going to say something about it?"

Morgan fetched the library book out of the hallway and shut the door while the vampire was in the bathroom. Then he returned to his perch on the bed. The vampire seemed to be ok, but he didn't know for sure. He'd just have to trust the vampire to say something if he wasn't. Unless the vampire was just as bad a patient as himself; Morgan could be missing a foot and still be trying to walk around. He tried to pull a grin at the thought of the vampire being stubborn enough to the point of being anorexic, but the left half of his face remained frozen and refused to move, so he gave up before the vampire came back out.
"Nah. I'm fine with the way I look, and I'm fine with comments. But I hate answering questions about what happened." Morgan turned toward the vampire as he spoke. Morgan had a sort of motto when it came to situations where it was just stupid to face the wall while holding a conversation: if it bugs ya, say something. If ya don't say anything, but I creep you out anyway- deal with it.

Artimis smerked some at the male as he looked at him. Artimis then said "Scars are nothing to be ashamed of thats the way i was tought. They are just perminit reminders of how something happened in life. Artimis got up because he left his bag from the store out n the hall so he went and got it. He came back in the room and sat back on the bed opening his bag he pulled out a bag of cherries. Artimis opened the bag of cerries and started to eat the delicious round red fruits. Artimis always played a game with every part od the cherries. He would put the cherry in his mouth stem and all and open the the cherry eat the fruit, store the pit undre hit upper lip, and after eating the fruit try tieing the stem of the cherry into a not with his tunge. Artimis looked at Morgan just to see if he had anything to say whether it be as stupid as "hey you want to play truth or dare?" while he is eating his cherries.

Morgan tried to scowl at the vampire, but only half of his mouth did it, so he stopped after a few seconds. He was well aware of what a scar meant already. Crossing his arms behind his head, he laid back on the bed. The knowledge that his collection rested beneath him filled Morgan with a content feeling that he got from nothing else. It was the only way he could sleep at night; it was annoying, but true. For fun, Morgan began blowing smoke rings. A flame would escape occasionally, but it didn't do any harm. He was still a little annoyed with the guy's condescending comment, but he was curious about what he was doing, so Morgan looked over at the vampire. Now the guy was eating cherries. Not the first thing Morgan expected him to do, but alright. "Mind telling me your name?" The vampire was in his room(or their room, if they were roommates). They could at least give each other their names.

Artimis eating his cherries for a while in silence was broken when Morgan asked Artimis his name. Artimis said "I don't like going by my real name unless the person guesses it right from my personality. so i guess you can call me 13." Artimis didn't like his name that much unless someone guessed it right because at least he would play a somewhat fun game for awhile and then after a while it would get annoying to him but he enjoyed it. Artimis looked at Morgan with a smart allic look on his face with a cherry stem with a knott hnging ot from his mouth inbetween his teeth. He always liked to at like a kid for the most part when around friends or one person but if you put him in a room filled with a lot of strangers he would at almost like a serious business man.

"Okay, Thir." Morgan went back to blowing smoke rings. More flames kept showing up as he got colder. His skin didn't stop the fact that he was a reptile, and thus a poikilotherm. Lying down in a room with the only source of sunlight was covered up by curtains was not pleasant. Morgan glanced at the window before going back to his smoke. He'd have to make due with heating himself up with his own fire: sunlight would burn Thirteen. Sure, it was sunset, but sunlight was sunlight. At least that's what Morgan thought it was like for vampires.
Morgan was comforted by the essence of his hoard beneath him and the slight smell of brimstone from the smoke to the point where he fell asleep. The only problem was that his temperature was dropping without him breathing smoke, and the room wasn't getting any warmer. He'd probably be very stiff when he woke up, nothing too bad.

Artimis couldn't fall alseep and it was really bad because he was in a new place and he couldn't sleep because he didn't trust Morgan yet. Artimis went out shopping in the middle of the night at a technlogy store. Around one in the morning he came back to the dorm and set up a computer with internet and everything. Artimis was working on a story when he looked over at Morgan and thought that he might be a little cold. Artimis went over to his own bed and grabbed the blanket that he just bought also and picked it up. He went over to Morgan and put the blanket on him hopeing that that would help some. Artimis went back over to his computer and started writing again.

Though Artimis's intentions were good, all the blanket did was give Morgan a nightmare. In the dream he was drowing, and the blanket was the water that kept pushing him down, not letting him get to the surface, not letting him breathe... Morgan woke with a start, flipping off his bed. Having forgotten that Thirteen was there, the dragon reached under his bed and pulled out a gem, believing himself to be alone. He ran his stiff fingers over the cool, smooth stone with a hint of diffuculty. The comfort of the jewel helped Morgan steady his breathing after the far too realistic nightmare. He put it back when he noticed that he was having issues moving his fingers in a side to side motion. Morgan couldn't get his left leg to bend due to cold, so Morgan pulled himself back up onto his bed with more effort than it should have taken. When he looked up, he saw the computer glow, reminding him that Thirteen was here, and hoped he hadn't saw what had happened.
