Tonight was a vodka night. White could already tell. Now, don't ask him how he knew, but he did. Plenty of reasons to pick one kind of mood enhancer over another. Most of them were kinda obscure and only relevant to him, but hey, when you had access to more alcohol than you cared to guzzle in one night, then you had to make the hard choices. Like picking out a good drink - which ended up being vodka tonight. One of his favorites, and it had a kick to it that was right but wouldn't straight out blind ya if you weren't careful.
So vodka it was. White sipped at the clear contents of his glass, poured straight from the bottle and without any garnish or flavoring, to usher in the second stage of a new night.
Stage one was evening. Lots of people around - plenty of noise and younger kids. Then night rolled around and after the first crowd dwindled you got a fresh wave - the few that weren't soscared of the nasties that got feeding rights after dark. And you'd think there'd be no one after it got dark, but most everyone in Colleger had a bit of common sense.
Ya don't go after the nocturnal dragon with magic and ****. That's just begging for a few broken bones an some burn marks. What ya looked for were either the really drunk or the ones worth the take down. No one fit the bill tonight. White took another sip.
****ing dead. It happened. Not much you could do about it. White lit up another cigarette. There were several more in an ash tray next to him. He settled in, not expecting a damn thing from the night and not really caring either way.
Best state of mind to be in.

Today was looking up for Luisa, she was munching her way into town when she noticed a new place she hadn't thought of going into before, the Bite Cafe. Giggling to herself she bounced into the place, pushing back the green hair she currently had, complementing the old styled clothing she liked to wear whenshe felt like it. It was pure white and it had a triangle in the front to show off what she thought a developing 12 year old girl should have for breasts and a chest, about a size A cup. Giggling to herself she pushed back her green bangs innocently and played with the flowers and leaves in her hair till it was her turn to order at the counter.
Giving her best cute little smile she ordered a ginseng tea an waited patiently while they got it ready for her, playing with her floor length white skirt. She felt like the picture of innocence, not a single dab of black on her, the only colors being her skin, nails, hair and eyes. She didn't bother wearing makeup because this current guise had large childish eyes and very beautiful blue irises framed in long dark lashes.
As she thanked the man at the counter for her drink she walked over to an empty table, closed her eyes and took a deep breath of the tea, the wonderful smell taking over her senses and making her totally relax. Even though she looked like she was only about 12 she was actually almost 22 years of age and perfectly capable of telling what she was doing and consenting or not to what ever went on around her, she just preferred the innocence of child hood that came with barely any worries and no big breasts flopping in her face when ever she wanted to run.
For now she was content with her tea and her big blue eyes closedbut her other senses open and hightened to a super human height to the world all around you. Ah, gotta love being a dragon that could shape shift in the world of mortals.

White nearly didn't catch it. Not that he was lookin' or anything, but he picked up on stuff very easily. Bit of a habit from old times. So, despite his lack of interest in really anything around him, he noticed it. That was some small kid ordering a drink from the cafe. He took the order himself.
Yeah, he almost missed it. Lethargy was a real art.
Downing the last bit of his vodka, White switched to scotch and soda, starting on that with about the same energy as he had before and paying equal attention to the slow, steady breaths he took to work through his cigarette. Smooth too. Fun thing about starting smoking after death is it doesn't come with any of that cancer or lung disease ****. Most stuff was like that. Made being as bogged down with vices as White was an okay thing - more of a hobby than an addiction.
Didn't mean he wasn't addicted though. Plenty of stuff did that for him, an' not in the way you'd think. He sat there, working through his cigarette and drinking just as if nothing had happened... until it came time that the girl needed a refill. Usually one of the waitresses would check in, but White had waved 'em off this one.
Now why exactly would some small girl be out this late?
"We doing alright over here?" White asked in his usual, conversational manner.
Now, there was a bit of mystery as to why this was so easy. Left a bit up to the imagination. Trap was one thing that came to mind, but he was never one to think so far ahead to consider traps. Just cautious enough not to get staked, and that worked so far.
Besides, from his experience when things were easy there wasn't much cause behind it. There'd just be some kinda whiplash later on. Just had to be quick enough to dodge that and you'd be fine.
That, and there was a sweet little girl sitting at his bar at about midnight. The hell kind of sick trap was that?

Mmmm the tea was delicious, Luisa just sat there closing her eyes and ignoring every one around her because she just wanted the wonderful taste to consume her senses for a while, indulging herself with the smell and smooth taste. It lasted about a cup worth of time. And just as she needed it she heard av voice.
"We doing alright over here?"
She opened her eyes and saw a man, he was cute but she didn't know if he was something like her or a human so she stayed away from the romantic thoughts. She smiled at him brightly and pushed back her green bangs.
"Could I have another cup of tea please?" she smiled sweetly to him and looked down at her cup, she hadn't noticed this a few seconds ago but she had given her order to this guy at the counter too. Weren't the cashiers supposed to stay behind the counters and let the waitresses take care of the customers? She mentally shrugged it off and looked back up to the man again, wondering if she should give the cup to him but she didn't want to feel weird about doing it, so she just looked at him and felt a blush creep onto her cheeks.
Some how she felt like she knew this man, she didn't know how but she just felt like it. Before he had the chance to leave she made an attempt to ask him.
"Excuse me.. uhm... Don't I... Do I know you from somewhere?" she asked and looked him straight in the eye, feeling restless for being in the same guise for so long, she would have switched at least twice by now had she been away from human company.

White waited as the little girly ordered herself another drink, then mentally fumbled with what to do with her empty cup. It was kinda funny, and kinda cute too.
White, by nature, wasn't a very emotional person. Not that he didn't have any, but they'd never really gotten him tangled up enough to stop him from doing things. He hated killing people, but hate wasn't that blinding crap you saw on TV. It was more like a bad taste you swallowed and moved on despite. So was guilt - and if at any point he'd be so soft as to not downplay guilt, he'd sure as hell die of it. But he'd never had that problem with any negative or positive feelings. Didn't know why.
But saying that, he was a sucker for cute little kids. They just made him smile. Didn't know anything about this either, and he hadn't bothered to look into it. He'd probably end up not liking what he found anyways.
White picked up the cup and turned to leave when he heard her say something, so he stopped moving. She was real direct for a kid. Looked right at him when he asked the question. His smile shrunk slightly. He wasn't bothered by the directness, but he was trying to remember where he'd seen her before. He didn't think he'd seen her anywhere before. He'd probably remember that.
For a few seconds he stood there, trying to flip through all the notable kids he'd seen that fit in with her age. There were a few, but none with green hair. Green hair.... Now that was an odd thing to give a kid.
Oh... crap.
"Don't think so," he said, simply. He turned back around to go get her refill.
****! so that's why there was a little girl here in the middle of the night. She wasn't so little, and wasn't somuch a girl. Kinda made sense when you thought about it, but hell, it wasn't like he was suspicious of everybody that walked in the door. Still, it was kinda depressing to figure that out. She was probably just as big and nasty as everyone else tonight. A few big birds in the corner, a dragon sitting farther off by himself, and now this girl. He didn't... know what she was. An' he wasn't gonna guess.
White had someone get some tea from the kitchen then he brought her a fresh cup. Little less of a smile this time.
"Here y'are."
He thought about just leaving there, but to be damn honest he was a bit ****ed. He wanted to figure something out before he left... so he took the seat across from her at the table, and proceeded to fix her with a stare. It wasn't stern or angry, more along the lines of puzzled. Leaning back and rubbing at the stubble on his chin contemplatively, he started out with a statement.
"Almost got me... but the green hair's a giveaway. So, what kinda pointy, scaly, or furry critter are you then?"

Blinking at the cute man Luisa pushed back her hair and nodded slightly as he answered her
"Don't think so,"
Luisa got deja vu all the time with people she's probably resembled at some point or another when she was helping someone that she liked. He didn't seem as smiley when he answered her, did she do something wrong? She liked him so far and she really didn't want to make him mad, she hated it when people she liked got mat at her.
She played with her hair until he came back, looking more serious than he had before. Uh oh, he was sitting down with her looking more curious then before too. She couldn't stand when people just looked at her like that, she couldn't tell what they were thinking.
"Almost got me... but the green hair's a giveaway. So, what kinda pointy, scaly, or furry critter are you then?"
Her green hair gave her away? Didn't most kids go off and die their hair green blue pink or other outrageous colors now? She thought she was completely normal with her hair color, but oh well aparently she wasn't. Pushing back her hair she took some comfort in changing how she looked, going from her angelic green haired self to a red haired girl with neko ears and a tail. She even changed her clothing, having on just an extremely long t shirt and bikini undies.
She looked at him defiantly and pushed back her now short red hair. "I am a Metallic dragon hybrid. I don't like looking like a woman though, with all those things flopping around and being... stared at by men when I walk down the road. Its degrading and a dragon shouldn't have to do that.." she blushed and looked down at her tea, her voice now higher and more of that of a seven year old. "I will do anything to please those that I like though, that is why I am a child most of the time, I like getting away with what I do because they always say kids will be kids."
She blushed even more and kept her eyes down on her tea, swirling it around with her fingers. She wanted to please this man for some reason, even though she barely knew him, there was just something about him that made her want to please him even though she probably wasn't his type.

White didn't give much indication of whether he'd heard her or not. He just sat there, quietly, without any kind of drink or smoke to give him something to do. Really a damn shame about that, but he couldn't prepare for every occasion, an' this one was pretty uncommon. The girl explained herself. Then she changed shape right in front of him. Kinda surprised him a bit, but he continued to sit there, largely unaffected by what she said or did.
Then he made a decision.
"Never seen that before."
Then again, he tended not to give a crap what freaky powers most of the kids around here had. Real terrible to think that the guy at the bar was actually slimy and had three eyes. But she wasn't scaly right now, even though she was a dragon. She stuck to nice, normal looks that he didn't mind somuch. He was fine with that. So he leaned forward onto the table and propped his head up with his arms.
She said she liked to please people? An' more often than not she was a kid... Okay.
"Hmm, well," he said, not with that same smile, but with one very similar. "nothin' wrong with that."
She was... he wasn't really sure what she was tryin' to do here, but he couldn't concentrate real well. Damn, he needed to cut back on the drinking. Because that's the problem here... Right.
"Name's White," he said, simply. "What's yours?"
He had a feeling this would play out pretty well if he did it right. Let's test that theory.

He seemed to just... sit there and not do anything or react to anything she said... that wasn't a good thing to Luisa, she liked him and she didn't want him to be angry with her. She didn't like making people angry with her at all. But after she changed her looked he seemed to change just a bit... then he said something completely neutral.
That wasn't good either. But then...
"Hmm, well, nothin' wrong with that." and he smiled at her, he actually smiled at her. She smiled brightly back at him and giggled, he wasn't mad at her at all! Good, she really didn't like making people mad at her. She played with her cup of tea, looking down and hoping he wasn't just pretending not to be mad at her.
He said his name was White, that made her giggle, how could someone have a name of a color as their name? She looked up at him and giggled again, smiling innocently bright at him "My name's Luisa. Your name's funny" she giggled and pushed back her bangs, smiling a neko like fanged smile.

Had to admit, it threw him a bit. Did he treat her like a little kid or an adult woman? Or... a dragon. But the third option barely registered to him. More so he wondered whether the first two had any bearing. Then, at hearing her giggle, he doubted it.
Scrap the plan. He'd figured her out.
"It is a funny name, isn't it?" he chuckled to himself, but it was despite anything rational. Didn't think rationally on a normal occasion, but even now he knew it was something different than that.
"Luisa?" He seemed to try the name out fro himself, almost frivolously. To any observer, he really did look drunk. He was drunk, but just because he was didn't mean he didn't know any better. Did most things drunk... so how could this be any different?
"Luisa... That's a pretty name. I think I like it." He seemed to gain some kind of energy then, because he picked his head up from his hands and simply leaned against the table instead - using a lot more effort, he might add.
She giggled a lot. Not just because of the name. Wasn't hard to piece it together.
"So Luisa, do you like me?"
Hard to go with the blunt stuff, but he'd always been blunt. Besides, he was betting on something he couldn't lose. So why not?
Worth a shot, and if it didn't work out it was still worth a shot.
