Aeon Gunner
[/blockquote][/blockquote] Oh god, oh god, oh god, oh god!
That was the only thought in her head when Gunner woke up the next morning. The young unicorn stood in front of the mirror, her eyes having grown lighter blue and her hair a good deal longer. She was taller and her body much more feminine, with actual curves and... she looked down at herself, sighing and leaning against the mirror. She noted that one bang was swept over her left eye. Pulling this away she screamed.
Not because of anything she saw in the mirror, because truthfully as soon as she uncovered her eye, pain wrapped around her in a tight, choking grip. The hand that had held the bang came off and once it was the eye was covered again, the pain ended sharply, as though cut off by a knife. She was panting, and what she had been wearing to bed exposed skin everywhere and was kind of tight. Times like these she was glad she'd always bought clothes a size or two too large.
Peeking out of the bathroom to make sure no one was in the dorm, she shed her sleeping clothes and pulled on some of her clothes that had once fit their loosest, and were now fit just right. She lacked shoes that would fit though... that wasn't a problem though, she'd turn into a unicorn and run through the forest to Soga's dorm.
Why to Soga? Because Soga was a griffin and therefore was smart. He would know what happened to her and perhaps know how to reverse it. She braided her hair which brought it to the length it would have been hanging out only last night.
Last night she had been 15. Now it seemed she was closer to 18. She'd aged 3 years overnight! Things like this just didn't happen! There had to be some logical explaination for this! And that pain that overcame her when she moved her hair out of her eyes. Maybe since she was 3 years older she had gained some abilities and that was one of them. Once in the open air she took the form of a one-horned horse and ran into the brush towards the male college dorms.
Once there she found the griffin's dorm and already knew he was there, so knocked. "Soga?" She noticed immediately that her voice had changed too. It was recognizable, but at the same time sounded totally different. What was happening? "Soga open up, you're not gonna believe this...."

Shoutoku woke to a loud knocking on his door and a female voice calling out his name. He groaned as he sat up and rubbed one eye. What time was it? Oh, what did it matter? It had to be late for someone to be calling for him. Getting up he ran his hand through his hair and slipped on a pair of pants. Then a thought occurred to him. Why was a young woman knocking on his door? He didn’t know any girls, with the exception of Gunner, but it wasn’t her: the voice was too old.
”Coming,” he called out. After all, it didn’t matter who it was; they knew who he was and where to find him. That alone was enough reason to answer the door. Grabbing a shirt out of his drawer, he walked to the door. He wasn’t prepared for who was outside. Shock covered his face as he stared at a young woman who could have been Gunner’s older sister.
”um… Uh… can... can I help you?” he asked, the confusion evident on his face and obvious in his voice. Who in the world was this?! Maybe they were related to Gunner and… there really couldn’t be any reason for this lady to be standing here. Gunner didn’t have any relatives close by, her profile had told him that. So who was this?
The thought that she could be Aeon crossed his mind but only for a second before he dismissed it. There was no way. There was absolutely no way. People didn’t change over night! The girl he had kissed was fifteen, not eighteen!
“…Gunner…?”
The name slipped unbidden from him. He was too stunned to even realize that he was talking, much less what he was actually saying. It might take a bit for this surprise to wear off even if the young lady wasn’t Aeon. They looked just too similar and whatever way the situation took both scenarios were almost impossible.

Aeon Gunner
[/blockquote][/blockquote] [The young unicorn waited for a moment, suddenly feeling strange. What if Soga didn't know what to do? What if she was stuck like this? She had missed three entire important years of her life! But... one hand went to her lips and she found herself remembering her birthday, one of the happiest nights of her life and a smile along with the slightest hint of a blush came to her face. Realizing what was happening she pulled herself together.
Puberty was strange. Before she had never blushed or thought much about this kind of thing. But now here she was, standing outside the door of her only guy friend's dorm and thinking about it, warmth trickling into her cheeks like a lovesick puppy. This was wrong, she had to get back into her 15 year old form, where she would think about that and laugh about the stupidity of the situation, a stupidity that only she could find. Aeon was a girl, but a boy at heart.
In those three years, she had become a girl through and through, but a tough girl, one that would wear a dress but keep a cutlass strapped to her thigh. The girl that was a blushing bride on her wedding day but unbeknownst to everyone was packing more heat than a vigilante soldier stationed in Iraq.
When she looked up at the opening door, she could see that he didn't know who she was. He probably thought that she was someone who was lost, or someone with the wrong dorm number.
Then he said her name, probably accidentally. But she nodded at him and glanced at her feet. "Uh... I could use some help as you can probably see."

Shoutoku gaped at her. This was Gunner…? This… woman… was actually the girl he had kissed? How was that… That wasn’t physically possible! There was no way. Though… he himself had felt that it was she, even before he knew it was. So…
This was actually Gunner.
“Aeon…” his voice trailed off. ”Um, come in, come in!” He stepped back making room for her to pass. She had said something about needing help, but… Oh, wow, he was too asleep to think! ”Uh… help, right, er… you want a… biological test…? A… DNA sample, I think…” Taking a deep breath he shut the door and walked over to the counter. Wait… what had he come over here for? Oh! That was right! Coffee!! He needed some! Badly!
”Here, give me a second. I can’t think! I need something invigorating…” More of a joke than anything he smiled at her and said, ”You could always kiss me. Sure that would get the job done quite nicely.” As he himself had just said, he couldn’t think. It was way too early for that. Therefore, he wasn’t even quite aware of what he was saying. Now, he had thought it but he hadn’t intended to say it out loud. That was just not in his character.
Hopefully she would realize that he was nothing but a blabbering idiot until he had his morning coffee.
And then it hit him of what he had said. ”You… you know I was joking… heh heh… right?” A light blush was coloring his face as he turned to grab the coffee from one of the cabinets. Hopefully this would fix this idiot stupor he was in.

Aeon Gunner
[/blockquote][/blockquote] It was so awkward standing here like this. One moment she was looking up into the incredulous face of the older man who had kissed and taken care of her and the other moment her eyes went down to her hands. The space that only stretched for perhaps only a few seconds seemed to drag on for forever and a day. Finally she heard him talk and the way into his dorm opened up to her, and she walked in. Once in the room she plopped onto the bed and was about to pull her feet under her when the thought came.
'Take off your shoes!'
The unicorn was about to facepalm at her stupidity, when another thought put her head in her hands and made her whimper softly and wonder what was wrong with her.
She didn't have shoes! None of her shoes fit!
Yeah, this needed to be fixed quickly. Already she was beginning to question why she had come to Soga. After all, his brain seemed to be non-functional right now. Could it be that this was beyond his realm of comprehension? No... there had to be something. Maybe Soga knew a guy. That thought ran away rather quickly. Soga didn't know anyone. He was sheltered! No... that wasn't the word...
The declaration of a kiss cure hit her hard, and she sat bolt upright. A kiss. She was a normal 15 year old girl save from her extraordinarily flat chest all up until the kiss. Whatever magic Soga had coursing through those griffin veins of his had made her age 3 years, and she wanted an antidote!
A plan was forming in her head... she was in this state for all of about three minutes before snapping her fingers loudly.
"Shut-in! That's the word!" Rather than feel embarassed about voicing her declaration she merely laughed, falling back and giggling. This would have been her reaction to saying it aloud when she was 15 too, so maybe not everything had changed...

He rolled his eyes at her exasperation. ”Give it a few minutes, I’ll be fine. I am not a morning person, especially when I’m woken by something.” Once the coffee was halfway done he took a cup and poured it. Taking a sip he forced himself to swallow while pouring the rest in the sink. ”Blech! Incompletely brewed coffee is disgusting! But it sure wakes you up!” He tapped his finger against counter for a second, trying to think of what exactly he should do. First, what had happened to her? He knew a few things: physical appearance and voice change. She seemed to be the same other than those two, and they were quite closely related so it didn’t give him much.
”Here, I… we need to go find Kendryek…” Grabbing a few things, including his laptop, he slipped on some flip flops. ”Would you like a pair or are you okay going barefoot? Grab a pair if you want them.” He opened the door and held it for her. He stepped out and locked the door behind him. Which way was Kendryek’s dorm again? Oh right! It was that direction!
It was early morning and Kendryek had already been up for a good hour. He was just about to leave out for the woods when someone knocked on his door. That was odd. No one ever came knocking, especially this early in the day. Every now and again he would get students asking for help on homework but those people always came later.
He walked to the door and opened it. His eyebrows shot up as he looked into the face of his relative. This sure was an odd occurrence. Of course he had known Shoutoku attended the school but the griffin knocking down his door was not what he had imagined their first meeting in years being like.
”Shou-kun! My word, come in, come in! Whatever is the matter?” Kendryek almost smiled to himself. Of course he’d automatically switch to an older speech when seeing Shoutoku. After all, the griffin reminded him of older times.
Shoutoku took in a self-reassuring breath. Kendryek hadn’t left yet! That was good! That was very very good! “Senpai, I need your help! Um…” He looked at Gunner. After a second of thought he pointed at her and said, “She was fifteen last night! What happened?”
“You have to know something that can be done or at least tell us what caused this so we can find a way to reverse it!”
As he said that he realized one thing: he didn’t want her to change back. It was a sudden feeling almost, and he assumed it came with waking up more fully, but it was definitely there. He… liked how she looked now. And if she was 18 she wouldn’t be considered jail bait by the human authorities… BUT! Aeon wanted to change back, so he would help her in any way he could.
Kendryek hesitated before setting down his things and taking a long look at the girl. He looked her in the eye and said, ”You are Aeon Gunner, yes? I am Kendryek. I would say that Shou-kun has probably mentioned me but knowing him he probably hasn’t” He chuckled before remembering they were here for a reason other than introduction! “Right, right! Your… ‘transformation’. First you both shall take a seat!” he said as he himself sat down at the small table in the center. "Second, Miss Aeon, I need to know of everything that changed. When I say ‘everything’ I mean it, little girl, so no holding anything out, alright?”
He listened to her carefully and nodded slowly as she spoke. Beforehand he had retrieved a sheet of lined paper and a pen to scratch down what she said. ”Alright, now that I know I can’t diagnose it without my books, if you shall give me a bit I’ll see what I can do.” He stood and walked over to one of his many shelves. ”Oh, and I may need your laptop, Shou-kun.”
After a few seconds he picked two books off the topmost shelf and handed them to Shoutoku. "Look through those" he told the young griffin. "Aeon, come here, I'll need your help with this" he said as he walked into the closet. Against the back wall there was a door. It was a small door, probably about half the size of a regular door, and it wasn't actually in the wall, just leaning against it. Opening the door the dragon ducked inside. It seemed as if there was a gaping hole in the wall, though if one moved the door they would see that the wall was completely intact. The door led to nowhere. Until you opened it.
After only a few seconds Kendryek reappeared with a stack of five books. "These too, Aeon, take them to Shou-kun and have him start reading through them. You can as well if you like."

Aeon Gunner
[/blockquote][/blockquote] Aeon gave a soft mutter of "obviously not" when he told her he was not a morning person. However, that much was plain by how scatterbrained and generally... non-helpful he was being right now.
The unicorn stood off the bed when he proclaimed that they needed to go see Kendryek, whoever Kendryek might be. That wasn't to say that she hadn't heard about the male, in fact she'd heard a lot about him from the occasional student that came to talk to her. But other than that she had never met him in person and, in fact, had no idea who he was. From what she had learned from conversations, Kendryek was intelligent and kind, but that was really all.
She tilted her head at the offer of shoes and opted to stay barefoot. There was something about being able to curl your toes around the floors and ground beneath you that was so... comforting to her.
When they did get to the dorm that apparently belonged the Kendryek, the door opened to reveal someone who looked very much like Soga if older. IT was not hard to think of them as family, perhaps even brothers.
For some reason, she became absorbed in his hair. There was no reason why, as there was nothing especially interesting about his hair, but she watched it all the same as though waiting for something to happen, like a little woodland creature poking its nose out of his dark brown hair, or it spontaneously combusting into ravenous flames. Her hands went up to her face to hide an amused chuckle at these thoughts.
A nod was all she gave in the way of an introduction, mostly because she wasn't ready to start talking about anything. The image of Kendryek's hair being on fire was simply too good a visual. She would laugh outright if she even considered moving her hands.
But the hands eventually moved away from her mouth and she began to tell about all that she knew that had changed, including her powers and general olderness.
After doing as Kendryek told her, mainly bringing Soga books to read, she sighed and lay on the floor while they worked. Her brain was already too spent from everything the young unicorn had been forced to comprehend, so she had no interest in the books though she was curious about what they said. Another thing she missed about being fifteen: her utter shapelessness.
Even though she did have slight curves they were nothing that was noticed. She missed laying on her side flat and not having the other side of her body turn into a very uncomfortable almost sharp U shape. Giving up on that she began to just lay on her stomach and relax.

As Shoutoku looked through the books Kendryek was sending him he quickly came to realize just how much information the dragon had access to. He probably owned a miniature library in different doors and bags and boxes that were larger on the inside than the out. The guy had so many different spells cast on objects, many of them done by friends that owed him a favor. It made one wonder what connections he had and who was at his disposal.
Shoutoku knew, though, that Kendryek preferred to deal with things personally and avoided a 'middle man' whenever possible.
That still didn't change that fact that he was resourceful. If anyone could change Aeon back, he could. But... why did she want to change back? She was now missing three years of her life, but wasn't she going to live for a while yet to come? Three years were important and she had kind of missed the point in which she figures out who she is exactly, but that was only in physical appearance, wasn't it? She seemed like the same girl. Except... older... But... older was good wasn't it? If she was older... then the difference in their ages wasn't so... big.
He looked up from the pages he was flipping and turned to Aeon.
"Hey, um... can I talk to you really quick? Outside?"
He didn't want to demand anything but... she wasn't really thinking this through. Shoutoku himself didn't put much thought into it at first, he was only trying to help her do what she wanted, but now... maybe it would be best to think it through?
Kendryek walked out of the 'room' carrying three more books. He had only heard the last bit of what Shoutoku has said. They were going outside? Well, so much for them helping him. He had a feeling he'd be doing most of the work. Then again, he had figured that from the beginning. There was no way Gunner could be of any help and Shoutoku wasn't used to books. Most of his research was using computers.
He watched them for a second before walking over to the table and sitting down. Flipping open the top book he thumbed through the pages. Most of them had pictures to go with descriptions. What most didn't realize was how detailed the old scholars had been when writing guides to animals. Of course, the ones about mythical creatures had been laced with magic so they were slightly easier to read. Some pictures had inscriptions at the bottom and if read the picture would come to life. But that was only in this book. the others weren't so extravagant.
No matter what kind of book it was, he was going to have to look at them all until he found what he was looking for: a guide to hybrids.
