Z looked up, seeing that girl he'd met earlier in the week. Maria, right? Yep, that was her name. She asked him something about a voodoo doll, and he didn't know what she meant at first, but then it came back to him.
Right... Maria the voodoo doll maker. The girl that acted more like an adult. Z smiled happily, scratching his head.
"Oh, it's you! Uh, no, no it isn't the voodoo doll. Don't worry, you didn't cause it. I ah, get in a lot of fights. Always have. Sometimes I don't just get off with a couple of bruises, is all."
He grimaced, feeling the dull echo of pain. He was sitting on the floor now, legs crossed and suit wrinkling. He didn't want to stand though. Standing might hurt, so he just sat there, leaning against the wall, waiting for the pills to kick in.
"So ah, you came too?" He tried to make conversation as he sat, tried to keep his mind off the feeling in his back. "Did you bring anyone with you? You know, a date?"
It was funny, to think that Maria might have a date twice as old as she was. She was so young here, a little kid. Z felt bad for her, having to hang out with older kids all the time. She deserved someone her age that she could relate with.
Then again, she seemed so much more mature than kids her age. Maybe she liked befriending older kids? She had befriended him, hadn't she?

Maria sighed when she was told that he's okay. With her peace of mind, she read his mind ones more, and apparently, things aren't looking good. She'll ask questions later, for now, she needs to answer him... about DATES.
Isn't she too young to have dates? Back in their school, they usually just hold mini-games and stuff, well, perhaps it's because they're kids. Ugh, kids, such a dreadful word. The party held by his grandfather is way too boring, she liked one party the most. A big sis helped her hold it, and it's awesome! She's glad she met her. Next time, she'll study hard and meet up with her!
"So you're those 'bad boys' type like in cartoons?" She asked. "Woah... I've never thought those exists..." She said, almost getting distracted. She shook her head, her aim is to ask her what actually happened. It's worse that she thought. Maria's reading ability isn't that sharp today, since she didn't sleep last night and read comics all night long and squeeling to her idols. Whoever lives right next to her must have a very tough luck.
When Z asks Maria about 'dates', Maria kept on thinking about the super star. Oh, he's so slim, he's so handsome, he's so sexy, he's so awesome all that thoughts clouded her mind. After a few seconds, she came to, freaking out. "N-no! I'm too young!! ...Besides, there's no kids here." She said, finally cooled down.
"But... are you sure it's just a bruise? It's serious..." She said, looking down at Z. He probably don't want to move, so she'll stay right here and give up thinking about hospitals!

Rei was leaning on the wall quite content with where she was when she felt someone beside her. She looked curiously and was surprised to see Le Cyll standing beside her.
Wasn't this ironic...
She looked at him for a brief moment before looking out at the people dancing. She didn't think about everything that had happened to her lately, she just watched them dance.
She was waiting to see if he noticed her. ------------------------------------ Naide usually would have backhanded him so hard he would have felt it a week later, but this was not a normal situation. There were people, and she didn't need a scene breaking out.
So, she went with the flow.
She allowed him to drape his arm over her, even smiling in a coy way as he did so.
"Well, if your so confident in that assumption, pretty boy."
She slung an arm around his waist casually and leaned into him slightly as they stood there.
What fun would it be if she couldn't tease him ?

Z shook his head, shoving off the wall so he could get up. It hurt at first, but only of a bit. Then, he sighed, the pain slowly ebbing away as the drugs finally kicked in.
"Nah, just a scratch. I'll be good, I promise." He smiled at her, not wanting her to worry.
White sure had done a swell job... Z had felt paralyzed, completely unable to move. And it had come on so suddenly too. He wondered if he had any nerve damage. The doctors didn't say anything about it. They said he'd be fine, but he worried all the same. He'd hate to not be his best, and a broken spine wasn't his best.
"Bad boys, Maria?" Z laughed. "Well, I guess you could put it that way. I get so much-"
He stopped, trying to think of a way not to swear as he spoke to her.
"...bull... from teachers. I guess it's because I'm a bad kid."
He shrugged, looking back at the doorway. He had to get back to Illia. she might be worried, and he didn't want that.
"Hey, what do you say we head back now, eh? I have a date to please, and you have to find a pal to hang out with. Why don't we hook you up with someone?"
He thought about that, but quickly reconsidered his wording.
"Er... Maybe not 'hook up'. How about a friend? There are a lot of those, and some of the people are really nice. I know you'll have fun if we get you a good friend."
* * * Le Cyll blinked. He blinked again. In fact, he even blinked a third time, simply for the heck of it.
Well, wasn't this turning out to be an agonizingly boring occasion. He had tried to occupy himself, but it seemed he could not utilize even the massive power of his mind to the betterment of his enjoyment. Sad. Very, very tragic. He would be wasting time. So much precious time that he could be using to do something else.
Sighing, he looked down at his hand. There was a scar, but for the most part the wound had healed up nicely. He expected he'd be able to have some kind of meaningful outing by tomorrow night.
Yes. That was it. Think of that. The pure, unbridled exhilaration of something so close he could taste it.
Without knowing it, he had been tasting something. Scent was ninety percent of taste, and he had been smelling something in the air now. Something familiar. Without knowing it, he had focused on this scent, this taste. Perhaps that was the reason he looked up, and perhaps that is why he saw her.
Hm... The girl. Rei. He knew who she was, and she smelled very nice tonight.
Le Cyll's head tipped to the side as he stared at her, wondering. Had she followed him here? Had she stood next to him purposely?
There was absolutely no reason that she would, but then again, he was inclined to be slightly... paranoid. He wanted to think that she had, and he wanted to wonder warily why.
Why had she followed him? Why was she here? Did she want something? Acknowledgment? Did she want him to see that she was here tonight? Of course she would be. Everyone was here. Even Ailyt-
Oh... That was right. Even Ailyth. Even Seth.
Doing a quick sweep of the room, he tried to pinpoint the both of them. Sadly, he could not.
That meant either they were not here, or they were purposely escaping his vision.
He was inclined to think the latter.
"You are wearing white."
Le Cyll had again looked at Rei, though he was still vigilantly listening for the two women. He assumed that wherever it was they were, and whatever it was they were doing, they would need some sort of privacy to exact any revenge they might have planned for him. Hence, it was a good thing Rei was here. She seemed to be able to suffer through his company, and if she was paying attention to him, there was less likely a chance of him being tricked in some way.
"It suits you."
Ah, empty compliments. It was a good thing he was so well practiced in them. He could at the very least make small talk with Rei until he was certain that he was safe from unseen circumstances.
* * * "Oh, I am." Coyle snickered as Sunshine leaned closer. "Even if you don't know it yet, you wanted me to come. What fun would a party be without a little orchestrated chaos?"
He looked down at her, taking into account her attire. Cute. She sure could lean up nice and pretty. Like a little pink haired Barbie doll. Someone somewhere must be jealous that she was alive and prettier than them, especially in that dress.
"Well you sure do like to make a statement. But let's not be so hasty. People might think we're together, and you wouldn't want that to sully your good reputation."
He brushed a lock of her hair back, knowing full well how ****ed off she was at the moment. How funny. She didn't want to freak out though. Must be something about the crowd. Poor Sunshine. He wondered briefly how far he could push before she just snapped. Hmmmm. That was a fun thought.
"So, does Miss Sunshine have a gentlemen I might be angering now? Or did we come all alone? Such a shame of you did. All dressed up and no one waiting for you at the ball. Must be lonely, hmm? Yeah, I'll bet that's it."
He chuckled, wondering if he hit any nerves. He'd know soon enough, so he didn't think on it too much.

"Scratch?" Maria was curious about that, though. Would a scratch be that hurtful that he needs to excuse himself? Well, Maria will keep silent for now. She'll observe Z till he dies! Ahem, not. Anywho, Maria step aside for Z to walk. Z mentioned something about being bad boys in school and being... who-knows by teachers.
"For the pranks?" Z was up to pranks when she first met him. It was.... Well, she couldn't remember much about it. When she came to, she's already on her bed, getting ready to school. She wondered what happened that night. Her alters wouldn't say anything about it. Drat. She was supposed to create the Nemo fish!!! Thinking of that, Maria pouted by accident.
Maria then followed Z, he suggested Maria to go make some other friends. Well, she wouldn't know about that. She's usually shy around people she don't know. The larger the crowd, the worser, this isn't so bad, since the teens are kinda tall and wouldn't notice her. Usually in her social parties, people would notice her or would come and greet her simply is because she's the granddaughter of the president of the company. Ugh, bad times.
"Nah, I think I'll pass making friends, they won't like me anyways, Z's enough!" She said, smiling.

Nami giggled at they fact that the four them just stood together in the middle of ball room as more people crowded in. Well she’s been still long enough time to socialize!!! Areyna shifted closer to Areon, she always felt safe around him. Less nervous. She placed a loose piece of hair behind her ear watching the students as they entered spotting her “date”. He was looking at her but soon his eyes averted with a smiling on his face when she caught him. Her eyes widened a gasp slipping out while her cheeks flushed red.
“Are you alright?” Areon asked, Nami turning her attention to them before departing.
“I um I’m ok. My date is her that’s all.” Her voice quieter with every passing word.
At the same time Nami and Areon followed Areyna’s gaze to a spiky haired gentlemen. Areon's eyes narrowed slightly, Nami squealing like a school girl.
“Areyna you have a date OMG!!!” Areyna nodded with a shy smile. “Don’t keep him waiting! Come on!” She seized Areyna’s wrist making run for it. “Areon, Skyler be right back!”
“No, I’m not ready wait!” Areyan protested.
“Of course you are! Now you have fun with him and I better not seen in wandering alone.” Nami gave her a little push, Areyna stumbling to keep her balance landed in Jesse’s arms.
“Ah! I’m sorry!!!” Areyna apologized frantically jumping back. Why must Nami always do this……
<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>
Nami triumphantly made her way around the room. Aw Areyna would’ve taken waaaaaay to long to greet him, she was doing her a favor. Anyway, she began her quest to find the first person to socialize with. Hmmmm….I don’t any of these people. Wait! I know him! She noticed Le Cyll and a girl in a white dress standing with him. Aw! Le something has a date to?! She trotted towards them greeting them both happily.
“Hi stranger!” she said to Le Cyll.

Z smiled nervously at that. She wanted to hang with him then, did she? Erm.... That would be hard. How would he make Illia happy with this cute little girl running around?
He liked Maria. She was a little weird, but she was also fun, and he had always gotten along with kids well. Some kind of gift or something.
But Illia... She didn't like normal people. How was she going to like Maria? She didn't seem like a huge kid fan to Z, and he was pretty good at guessing things like that. Would Illia mind that much? Would it ruin her night?
Well... He had just tossed a pretty expensive piece of jewelry her way. He was sure she wouldn't be that upset. Maria needed someone to hang with, and Z was not going to leave her out in the cold.
If she wanted to spend some time with him, it was his decision, and Illia would have to live with it.
He hoped...
"Uh, sure!" He grinned, "let's roll!"
With that, he took her hand and led her back into the ball.
* * * Le Cyll jumped, instinctively baring his teeth to the new arrival and letting out a low snarl.
Before that snarl could come to fruition however, he swallowed it.
...Nami...?
Of course... She would be here, wouldn't she? She would want to talk to him, wouldn't she? He forced his features into a contented smile, biting back the urge to grimace. Just his luck that this... thing, should show up to annoy him.
As if the noise of these loud children wasn't enough.
"Nami, hello. Nice night, isn't it?"
He cursed himself for starting a conversation with this little fountain of speech, but he had no choice. There were people here, and people expected him to act nicely and behave. There would be no taking his highly sensitive nerves out on something as sweet and innocent as little Nami.
Although... He did need someone if he was going to go hunting tomorrow. He sniffed the air around her, picking up her scent and memorizing it. Hmm... He may have found his first mark...

Having produced a compact mirror from her purse, Illia proceeded to admire her reflection for herself. After all, why should everyone else get the pleasure of gazing at her beauty? It simply wasn't fair to her.
And so for a good few minutes she took in the glorious sight. How each necklace was positioned so perfectly. How she didn't have a single hair out of place. How her newest piece of jewelry seemed to make her eyes sparkle even more. It was all so breathtaking!
She hadn't even noticed when Z had slipped away, however, when she looked up she was standing alone in the middle of the floor.
With a shrug, she replaced her mirror, looking around the ballroom. The crowd had grown considerably since she got here a short while ago. She noticed some familiar faces, but now wasn't the time to go have a chat with them.
With purposefully graceful and cat-like movements, she strutted into the middle of the floor. Not to dance, though. Oh, no, she had something more important to do. She had to position herself just right so that the light reflected off of her jewelry perfectly.
***
Ailyth skipped happily into the ballroom, picking up her dress slightly so that she wouldn't kill herself in the process. She had been dressed and ready for the dance hours ago, but experienced some difficulty in actually walking here, as she wasn't the type to wear heels... Or dresses, for that matter. Several times she contemplated flying to the dance, but always decided against it.
But she was here now, and she bounded into the room, with her dress billowing out around her. She had decided on a rather large dress, much like the cool ones that princesses wore in those movies about the middle ages. It was a deep fuchsia color to match the ribbons she wore in her hair.
After trotting into the middle of the floor, she spun in a circle several times, searching for Nai. A rather difficult task, as it was easier to spin in sneakers rather than heels.
After a moment, she spotted him and quickly ran up to him. Yet another foolish thing to do, as just as she was approaching him, her unfamiliar heels slipped back, causing her to fall forward. Luckily, she was able to grab hold of Nai's arm before she crashed onto the floor.
"Whoa... Hi!" She giggled as she righted herself, "What's up?"

Walking into the ballroom in graceful glides, Fiona made her way in through the entrance of the ballroom with her date, Dervish, close behind. She was energetically skipping ahead of him, her short golden dress flowing around her, while he sauntered behind her slowly in an elegant yet simple tuxedo (all the while wondering how she can bound ahead in such uncomfortable shoes). Fiona wanted to be fashionable, and her 1920s style ensemble was perfect for the event! She even wore a set of long fake pearl necklaces around her neck, and a beaded hat matching of the era. As they came further into the room, she had to stop herself in mid-stride to gape in awe at the splender of the ballroom before them. It was... Amazing, to say the least. The walls of the room were massive and endless, fashioned as though it were something straight out of a fairy tale. The decorations and the chandelier were the main attraction here though. There were red and golden satin ribbons twisted elegantly along the candles on the wall, weaving up onto the stem of the chandelier in a magnificent arrangement. The chandelier itself was splendrous; a giant crystalline fixture that reflected the light onto the ground and the walls beautifully. It was truly breathtaking, especially for Fiona. She had never seen anything so elegant and grandiose before in her whole lifetime! Even Dervish had to admit that this was thoroughly impressive. He had been to ballrooms much like this in Paris and Dubai, extravagant and expensive, but for such an occasion as this it was quite elaborate. In his opinion it was a little over the top. "Wow it's so beautiful in here!" Fiona gasped. She turned around abruptly and grabbed Dervish's arm, pulling him out in front of her excitedly to show him the beautiful decorations of the room. "Don't you think so?? It's so wonderful!" "Erm, yeah, it's nice..." Dervish stuttered nervously, feeling a blush creeping up over his features. Dervish wasn't use to being around girls, especially ones that were so energetic and assertive like Fiona was. Not that he thought it was a bad thing really... He just had to wonder why she had chosen him in the first place to go as her date. Why would she randomly choose such a social outcast like him? "Ooh!" Fiona spun around, taking another look around the room. She suddenly yanked on Dervish's arm and ran onto the main floor with him in toe. More of the students were gathering into the ballroom now and she didn't want to miss out on the chance of greeting everyone before the dancing would start!

“Whoops! Sorry. Didn’t mean to startle you.” Nami playfully apologized when Le Cyll jumped by her greeting. “And why yes it is a nice night and don’t you look rather spiffy.”
She laughed at the funny word she chose to describe him while taping him lightly on the nose with her finger. Spiffy. Who comes up with words like that? They can be entertaining these words, or at least they are to her. Yet, about almost everything is amusing to Nami. She took notice of the girl in the white dress. Unlike Illia’s case she’s never seen this girl around the school before. I wonder if she just arrived at this school recently…or am I that oblivious. Well there are MANY students attending this academy but anyway….
“I think it’s interesting you chose white to wear. I think it makes you stand out with all the other colorful dresses her.” Nami complemented. “I’m Nami by the way, never seen you around before.”
She cocked her head to the side for a second, her eyes flicking from the girl to Le Cyll and back. “Sooo you guys on a date!” She couldn’t help but ask.

Elle started as she heard footsteps beside her. She almost wished that they would keep walking, but of course, they stopped. Swallowing, she looked up at Ivan. Not directly into his eyes, of course... Actually, she was really staring at the chandelier.
"T-Thanks.... So do you."
No, that wasn't right!
"I, I mean... You look nice too..."
And so she looked away, blushing. By now many more people had arrived. She recognized a few of them, but Elle was never quite the social butterfly, so most of the faces were unfamiliar. She looked through the crowd of people, wishing that she had worn higher heels so that she could see over their heads.
After a moment, she was able to locate Illia, gliding out onto the dance floor. She decided not to go over to her, of course. After all, if she walked out onto the floor, she might be expected to dance. Instead, she just stood by the table, trying to think of something else to say.
---
Amy danced into the room, her ruby colored dress swirling around her. She absolutely loved dances. They gave you an opportunity to meet new people! Perfect, since there seemed to be a lot of interesting, even weird people here. Which was okay! She hated normality.
She waved at everyone she passed as she walked through the room, smiling when some of them returned her greeting. It seemed like most people had dates... Well, except her, of course. Ah, she needed to get out there even more! Then again... She hadn't met a nice boy who she was realy interested in yet. Oh, well.
Waltzing into the center of the floor, she had to stop to admire the room. It was just like she'd imagine a ballroom in an old, medieval castle would look like. The only thing it was missing were suits of armor lining the walls.
Looking down at her dress, she suddenly wished that she had bought something more princessy. Just like that girl in the pink dress who had just zipped by. Darn. She beat her to her idea. Oh, well... It wasn't like she would've just run out and bought a new dress right now. She didn't have that kind of money, even if she did feel rich by standing in the magnificent room.
Continuing her search of the room, she finally spotted a table which had been piled high with all different types of food, just like she'd imagine a medieval feast would look like... Only there was no roast pig. Too bad... She liked pork. But it probably didn't have aplace in a fancy ball like this.
With a shrug, she danced over to the table anyway, and began sampling one of every item that they had.

Le Cyll snorted, distastefully that she had mentioned him jumping, but he suppressed himself enough to remain docile. Well, at least she paid him proper compliment. It was about time someone at this wretched school gained manners above those of a wild animal.
And he should know. He was a wild animal... Wolves, these little children were. Not worthy of his recognition as higher life forms.
"Thank you" He then noticed the odd word, and after careful scrutiny to see if she was messing with him or not, he chose to ignore it. "You look lovely this evening as well."
There. He could be nice. There was nothing to say he couldn't be nice. Nothing. He was a nice person. Oh, sure he was. The nicest one could be, under the circumstances.
He then heard her remark at him and Rei, at which point he only smiled slightly.
Yes, that would be nice if she thought so. He wondered if he should lie to her, or if Rei would mind much if he used her as a nonhuman shield throughout the night to avoid any kind of annoyance he might be forced to endure.
How easy it would be, if someone came up to him, to simply say that he and Rei were talking, and that he would like them to have some privacy. They would not be talking, of course. Rei was quiet. Tolerably quiet. You could not find such useful women these days that would remain so quiet and peaceable as Rei was. She was a rarity, a commodity so easily used up or swiped out from under his nose that it would be a shame to let someone do so.
Besides, she would not mind. He knew she wouldn't. She was quiet, wasn't she? why would she have need to protest?
"Yes." He said, quickly, looking at Rei with the best affectionate expression he could muster.
Of all expressions, he often found true, unyielding love to be the most difficult. It was so ruthlessly illogical that it was ridiculous. He would not even have attempted it, talented though me may be at acting out the proper emotional responses. That is why, although love was slightly tricky, a simple doting affection was much easier to accomplish. He could do affection, and he could throw in a little devotion too, just to liven up his dead gray eyes.
Of course, all the affection in the world could not stop him from noticing the gloomy chap a little ways behind Nami. He looked away from Rei, forgetting her, and in an instant focusing minutely on this new arrival.
He smelled like Nami.
"The infamous Areon, I presume?" He asked, nodding his head in the general direction.
Hmmm. He had not yet met Areon, although his reputation had preceded him earlier in the school semester. Nami would be a good choice if he really did want to go hunting, but after his duel with the lovely Seth, he couldn't help but crave another challenge.
Perhaps Areon was the challenger he so desperately needed?

A hand was placed over her mouth suppressing yet another squeal fighting its way to her lips. Today was just a happy night. No telling how many more squeals Nami will let loose during the hours to come. School dances are just too much fun even fancy, eloquent ones such as this.
“Aw! How cute. She is really pretty! Might be you type.” She joked giving Le Cyll a wink while nudging him on the arm.
Hmmm. This dates of his is really quite. Wonder if she’s as timid as Areyna? Speaking of Areyna, Nami gazed into the crowd in search of her friend yet couldn’t find her within the crowd of people. She shrugged. Guessing it a good thing she’s not by herself. For one she listened to me and two her date was kinda cute. Turning her attention back toward the other couple she caught Le Cyll gazing in the distance past her shoulder. Curiously, turning her head to the direction he was staring spotting no other then her lonely date, Areon. A smile painted across her cheeks. Come to think of it these have never met yet have they? Hmmm.....I can arrange that.
<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>
Arms crossed, expression unchanged Areon remained in the exact same spot he had chosen when arriving to the party. His friend and brother had scattered, Skyler deciding to wonder off, of course, probably in hopes of at least finding his date. Nami dragged Areyna away, where she went? Who knows? For heaven sake knowing Nami she could be on the roof for all he cared. As where she took Areyna remained a mystery. That poor girl. Areon shook his head back and forth fidgeting with his silk purple tie again loosening it a bit more. What is the point of a ball for people like him, if there were any others like him. To socialize? Clearly something he doesn’t do. He sighed contenting himself by people watching to cover up the boredoms beginning to rise until he felt the uncomfortable sensation that he himself was being observed. He analyzed the crowed finally pinpointing the culprit. Areon’s eyes narrowed as he tried to recognize the stranger.
“Areon come over here! I’d like you to meet someone!” Nami called.
Areon hadn’t relized her standing there which was strange to not pinpoint a bright orange dress. She beckoned to come with her hand when he hadn’t budged. Reluctantly, Areon forced his feet to move arriving in just a few seconds. Nami began the introductions.
“Areon this is….” O crud, I never got his name. “Umm…a friend of mind. And this is Areon.” This time she was speaking to Le Cyll. “Omg! You guys should be friends! Areon needs a good buddy and I’m sure you too would get along just fine!! Seriously the only friend Areon has is his bed room it’s depressing.”
“Nami, shut up.” Aroen said bluntly his pitch black eyes drilling into hers.
“You see what I have to deal with.” Nami pointed out while Areon rolled his eyes in return.

Le Cyll was not listening to Nami's prattle. He might have, if he had nothing better to do, but now he was occupied. Now he had purpose here.
In the eyes of such an innocent soul as Nami, this Areon could be himself sweet and peaceable. It was entirely likely, but Le Cyll for once pushed past the number crunching and moved onward to the appraisal of such a possibly worthy opponent.
In a brief trill of shock, he wondered exactly why he would succumb to such sloppy examination procedures. Probability came first, then the confrontation, but this time, he had skipped all his precious variables. It must be because of his injured hand... Because of it, he had not done anything truly worthwhile in just under a month.
Oh. A month. That wasn't good. He was going to have to worry about his full moon any night from now.
Any ways, whatever the reason, whatever the motive for this hasty meeting, Le Cyll was meeting now, and this was a big step for him. He tried not to be too obvious as he took down every minute little detail about this creature there was.
Hmmm. His results were not as pleasing as he'd hoped, but they weren't painfully lacking either.
Finally, he decided to speak.
"Nice to finally meet you, Areon." Le Cyll said, with infinite politeness. "I am Le Cyll."
Not much. Not much at all, but he wouldn't need much, now would he?Just a taste of what this child was like, and perhaps he would meet the standards Le Cyll required. Perhaps, or perhaps he was simply a bratty teenager not worthy of Le Cyll's valuable time.

Ivan had to chuckle at the girl's stammered words. Her discomfort was almost cute. Strange that it should annoy most people as time went on. Then again, he was never like other people. Thank god for that.
In her discomfort, Elle had looked away, apparently looking for someone else she knew. Not that she'd actually walk up to them, of course. Most likely it was just another nervous habit of hers. Something to keep her busy so that she didn't look foolish standing there in silence.
Still, he followed her gaze, noticing how her eyes flickered to one girl in particular. The very same chimera that has caught his attention when he first arrived. A friend, obviously. Not that it was exceedingly hard to be Elle's friend. Once she found someone she liked, she'd follow that person to the ends of the Earth if need be. That was co-dependency.
Ah, but he should really stop playing therapist like this. It was a bad habit.
"A friend of yours?"
He spoke those words only to seem interested. He didn't really care to hear the girl's obvious response. And so he was already scanning the room for another creature to dissect. The sociopathic Kludde seemed interesting enough. Then there was also the overly cheerful Lyre Bird and her reclusive date. Decisions, decisions.

With nothing to announce her entrance but an apathetic sigh, Seth slowly descended the steps to the ballroom. Her expression was, as always, emotionless, unimpressed, and indifferent. She seemed so uncaring, in fact, that it might make one wonder why she was attending in the first place. After all, she seemed like she would prefer to be doing something else with her time, and indeed she would.
And that was precisely why she was here.
There were so many students here. So many different kinds. And some were human, of course. It was the perfect place. She could easily lure one of them away. Then she'd be able to spend her time doing something more enjoyable... It was just a shame that there wasn't a lake very close by, but she did have other techniques at her disposal.
She strode further into the room, not bothering to look around at the others as she did. Her black, velvet dress barely moved as she walked, giving her a ghost-like appearance. Seth had never cared for dresses. They provided too much of a hassle when moving. It simply wasn't worth the added effort. Even now she only wore the gown so that she wouldn't stand out. Not too much, anyway.
She couldn't afford to stand out now. It would be such a bother to have everyone notice her like that. And so, she did her best to blend in as she hunted, not by sight, but by smell.
That disgusting human scent rose to her nose, mingled with the smell of dog and cat fur. They were all so disgusting. However, among all the hideous scents, there came one that had a slight air of familiarity. The disgusting, cheerful human who she met in the garden. Amy, if she remembered correctly.
Robotically, her gaze drifted toward the direction of the scent. The human stood near a table piled high with foods. Humans took such an inordinate interest in food. Though it could be said for most other races as well. Well, whatever.
Still without bothering to look at the other students surrounding her, she glided over to where the human stood.
"Good evening," She said simply, stopping next to her.
Quickly gazing around the table, she reached forward to pluck an appetizer off of one of the dishes before popping it into her mouth. She wasn't hungry. Truthfully, she wasn't even sure what this cake-like thing she was chewing on was at all. However, she had to look as though she had come over to the table for a reason, so she'd have to manage a few halfhearted bites.
