Something was after Zeus and it didn't look weak.
after scouting the den he made a small bed out of what was left of the rubbish.
leading Drenar to the bed he let her lay down in it and Zeus headed for the opening of the den.
looking back Zeus explained.
there is something out here after me and its no small rat.
im going to stay watch for tonight.
i am sorry for putting you in this but until morning I wont sleep.
sleep well because i dont no how much of it you will get.
after that Zeus left the den to watch guard.
who ever this was he picked the wrong fox to mess with.

Draner feared for him. Whatever did this had claws, and most things with claws had TEETH. And things with claws and teeth were usually carnivores. She wouldn't think ill of him if he died an honorable death (being killed in battle) but any other death by the hands of this monster would not do. No way was she letting this thing take away the closest thing she'd ever had to a normal relationship away. That's why, even after he'd fashioned a bed out of rubbish and led her over to it, even after he told her to sleep and about something being after him, she only laid down briefly before getting back up with the most determined look on her face. She walked to the entrance of the den and said, "If something's after you then I want to help." She stated firmly.

Zeus
Thanks but you need to stay here.
i don't want to get involved in this.
who ever they are they want me not you.
and this is no small rat.
Don't get me wrong I am well aware that you can fight.
but this creature is very powerful as you can see.
don't worry about me i have this.
Zeus walks over to a conner of the room and pushes in a small stone.
a secret door opens and there lies a blade coved in an old cloth.
Zeus then pulls out the sword.
there in Zeus'es hands was an katana with a diamond blade and in the blade was a purple flame flickering.
it has been passed down from my family its all i have of them.

[Anzeh]

Draner twitched. Her leg quivered lightly as she turned to look upwards to the sky. Nothing she could see was there, but there was something she could feel. She wasn't going to sleep. Fine, she would stay in the den, but she would not sleep. It was obvious that no matter how much she could offer to him for help he wasn't about to let her fight. So she walked over to him and nuzzled against his cheek, licking it lightly and affectionately. "Fine. I'll let you fight alone, but please be careful." With that she went back into the den and crawled upon the small bed, wrapping her three fluffy tails wrapped around her. Although her face was hidden by her tails, her red eyes were still wide open.

Zeus watched her walk over to the bed.
He wasn't happy about making Drenar stay.
if anything Zeus really wanted her to come with him.
but she was all he had left and Zeus wasn't about to risk losing Drenar.

Zeus walked over to Drenar and kissed her on the forehead.
Ill come back I promise.
with that he walked out of the den.
A small tear ran down Zeus's eye for he wasn't sure he could keep that promise.

the night had a cold chill to it the kind that kept you on your toes and alert at all times.
with sword in hand he climbed a tree.
finding a comfy spot to sit.
Zeus relaxed his mussels and had a perfect view of all the woods.
here he would spend his night.
alone and cold.
no different than all the other nights before he met Drenar.

[Anzeh]

Draner lay there unmoving for most of the night. She dozed a couple times, but on the whole she remained awake and alert. She couldn't explain why, because even if Zeus was in danger, she'd promised to let him fight alone. Unsure of what she could do, she allowed herself to slip into a state of meditation. "Great Mystery, Supreme Mother--" She muttered under her breath. She was very spiritual, and she believed that there was a spirit, great and powerful that watched over everyone and everything. "--please protect Zeus. As I keep my promise aid him in keeping his."

A loud noise shocked her into waking up. She skulked out and looked out of the den's opening and into the sky. There were no stars. There was no moon. It felt like the darkness was squeezing the life out of every living thing. She skulked back into the den. "Please Supreme Mother." She said shakily. Every fiber of her being told her to rush out and help Zeus fight, but if she did that then the Supreme Mother wouldn't protect him. She was sure that her protection was far more potent than her own.

There was a loud boom of thunder in the distance.
or so it might seam.
but Zeus new it was the calm before the storm.
what ever this thing was he wanted to fight.
not just anytime ether he wanted to fight tonight.
jumping down from his perch Zeus griped his sword even tighter.
now in a cleared spot of ground the wasn't a tree around for about 20 ft.
a fit battling arena if any Zeus thought to him self.
more than anything he wanted to run back to Drenar.
but he also didn't want to run any more.
this fight would end here and now.
a that point Zeus realized who this person was.
it was the dark figure coming to finish his job.
was Zeus ready for this fight?
was he strong unuf?
o how he wished Drenar was here.
but the the clocked man might do to her what he did to his parents.
life was never easy.

Draner was so worried she might make herself sick. But she forced her body to fall asleep, to just wait it out. In the dream a voice spoke to her. She knew it was the Supreme Mother, the Great Mystery, calling out to her. It told her that she had to help him, and if she did then they would both be protected. She had barely been asleep for five minutes before she woke back up and steeled her body. Draner wished that Zeus wouldn't be too mad at her for doing this, but she wasn't going to let him just get killed.

The kitsune rose up and walked into the darkness and wrapped a potent illusion around her. She would become virtually invisible to the senses, except for hearing. If she snapped a twig for example, or if she brushed against something and made it move, those things would be perceived.

But the talented huntress knew this forest well now, down to every last leaf and slime-covered toadstool. After some time, she was on the ground surrounded by shrubbery. Zeus was close, and they both looked the same way. She felt the Supreme Mother's presence with her, and wondered, lightly, if Zeus felt it too. Or if her even believed in the Supreme Mother.

waiting for the storm that was to come Zeus sat crossed legged and began to put himself in a trance like state.
Even tho Zeus did believe there was i a higher being he didn't particularity like it.
what had this thing ever done for him.
Zeus has had to fight all his life even down to the smallest things.
If there was a higher being out there Zeus prayed they would help now if anytime.
but the weird thing was there was this sense that Drenar was with him.
maybe it was some kinda of spiritual feeling because Zeus was sure he left her in the bed.
every second that passed the world seamed to grow darker.
the storm came closer
and everything was colder.
what ever this force was it was truly evil.

Draner felt cold, like she was sitting in a freezer. Terror coursed through her, and after some time, she saw the trees bow and part to let some creature. This thing was hooded and black--like from Zeus's dream. She could hardly remember what that thing looked like, but she remembered that it was the reason Zeus didn't have parents. Still invisible, she strung a curtain of illusion between the trees. The illusion depicted her as being there but Zeus not. She wasn't sure what that was supposed to help, but if it was looking for him perhaps it would keep going. She doubted it, but maybe.

And there he was.
the very person that killed his parents.
anger was building up.
trying to keep his cool Zeus took a couple deep breaths.
now standing Zeus screamed what do you want.
the dark figure pointed to Drenar.
until that point Zeus never even saw her.
with a gloved hand the dark man pointed at Zeus
there was a flash and then Zeus could see what the creature wanted.
he saw Drenar dead And Zeus over her weeping.
the soul purpose of this being was to make Zeus's life unbarring by removing all happiness.
with rage and anger Zeus attacked the person with all of his might.
but there was some kinda of force field around him and all the power Zeus used was channeled right back at him.
Zeus went flying back and landed right next to Drenar.
With the breath knocked out of him he couldn't stand up.
there he lay next to the one he couldn't protect and he felt so weak.
so useless.
what a sad way to die.

When the creature pointed to her, Draner's blood became ice. Her focus left her and both illusions dropped. She was going to die. No your not the voice of the Supreme Mother and Renard at the same time. She took a deep breath and kept a level head. This was apparently going to be a game of cat and mouse. She was the mouse, and she was no good at playing mouse. Draner only hoped that this would be like those Tom and Jerry Cartoons.

The Kitsune jumped as Zeus landed beside her. She nudged and nuzzled against him and pushed him into a hiding place, wrapping him in the same illusion she'd used to hide herself. She doubted it'd protect him, but Draner had a feeling that he wasn't this thing's target anymore.

It was moving towards her and she did the only thing she thought she could do:

She ran. As fast as she could. Even as she moved, she put up an illusion's maze. What of, she didn't know. But she made it, leaving the rest in the hands of the Supreme Mother. Alone, Draner was nothing more than a little kitsune. There was only so much he could do.

after regaining his breath Zeus was scared.
but not for himself but for Drenar.
getting back up he graped the sword and runs after that beast.
taking every short cut Zeus knew he was slowly gaining on Drenar and her pursuer.
as he ran Zeus let his anger take over.
some weird changes happen to him.
as he ran he became faster.
his fur got darker till the point of pitch black.
then his eyes went from a gray white to a glowing pure white.
now looking like a demon from hell (and running like one)
Zeus quickly came upon the two.
now above the attacker Zeus took a mighty leep and attacked.
While screaming dont you touch her Zeus landed a strike across the back.
with an explosion the dark man wen flying.
but be for he hit the Ground Zeus was already laying down more attacks on him.
attack after attack Zeus was laying out on the guy with powerful blows.
there was no end for Zeus's anger.
soon the Clocked creature was no more for he had been blown back to were he had come from.

when Zeus landed he was still Angry and he still looked like a demonic creature.
he couldn't cool down Zeus was to Angry.
angry at the person angry at life and angry at himself.
with rage he let off a blast of power so strong it caused many great oaks to fall.

Kitsunes were no physical beings. They were spirits, and not even a part of the physical world. Draner's form was an illusion. Everything about her in general was an illusion. Her body was an avatar, a doll that she used and nothing more. Even if her body died her spirit would go on existing as it used to. Age was only a number, represented by a Kitsune's tails.

They say they gain one for every thousand years the fox is alive.

Draner has three.

She looked behind her to see that her curtains of illusion were having no effect on the beast chasing after her. Why was the Supreme Mother not helping her? Was this really the end? Sure Zeus would be alive, but ...

His voice filled the forest and she turned in time to see the battle that ensued. The man went flying but Zeus kept attacking until... he... vanished. Draner was relieved. She was about to go forward, but she noticed that he was different. His fur was dark as the blackness surrounding them, his eyes white. Large oaks bent and broke at the blast of energy, and Draner felt the forest scream out in agony.

"You must calm him down, or the forest will swallow him."

She didn't know what the Supreme Mother meant by the forest swallowing him, but she closed her eyes and began to pulse. It was a soothing, peaceful pulse, hoping that it would calm him down at least a little, enough for him to find himself, she hoped.

This rage was unnatural.
it was consuming Zeus's mind and his very soul.
and the longer he let it the more he became.
he was becoming the very thing he destroyed.
darkness was destroying his very soul only to make a blacker one.
but there was this pules at the back of his mind.
it wasn't unuf how every to calm down this rage with in him.
but deep down the Real Zeus was screaming trying to fight this dark death.
again and again Zeus let off powerful blasts taking down many tress at a time.
